I came to have my wedding dress altered here prior to my wedding in June 2023. Their policy is to…read morehave 3 in-person fittings prior to the date of the wedding. At my first fitting, we discussed changes to the dress and pins were placed throughout from top to bottom. I also got a price estimate at $740 including an itemized breakdown of all the costs, and agreed to this price. When I came for my second fitting a few weeks later, only the bust was altered, and the majority of the dress had not been worked on. All the pins on the bottom were gone. They apologized and said they had "forgotten" about it. All the pins had to be re-placed which took a long time. I asked for an additional fitting as well, because the second appointment was unfortunately a waste of my time, which they obliged to. At the third fitting, the dress was becoming more fitted, except the bust was a bit too tight. They said they would loosen it up just a bit. I picked up my dress one day before the wedding. H At this time, I was told to pay $840, which was $100 more than the quoted price. In all of my fittings throughout 6 months, the price increase was never mentioned to me. They said the price increase was because there was work required than initially expected. Unfortunately I did not have a choice but to pay what they demanded, otherwise they would hold my $2000+ dress hostage. I find this to be an extremely shady business practice. I tried the dress on the morning of my wedding, and was shocked at how extremely loose the bust was. When I looked down, I could see so much of my boobs. I was uncomfortable throughout my wedding day as the dress felt so insecure at the bust. Going from way too tight, to way too loose, showed me that the alterations here are very haphazard. I had no time for an additional alteration and unfortunately trusted them to make the micro-adjustments based on their expertise. Overall, because of the poorly altered bust, "forgetting" to alter half the dress, and the extra charge out of left field before my wedding day with no notice, I unfortunately cannot give them a higher rating than 2 stars.

Blackbird Fly is located in the new Pinecrest development in Orange. It's a beautifully laid out…read morestore located right on the main drag of Pinecrest with parking spots out front. I have to be honest. I tend not to shop at many women's boutiques because I never feel the clothes are inclusive. I'm not a 5 foot tall size 0 looking for a $200 crop top, which is almost always what the inventory feels like. I nearly passed out when I came across sweaters and tunics that were sized to fit real people and ended up purchasing a flattering geometric knit sweater with a cute hood that I can't wait to wear (if it ever becomes fall). I love that the clothes here are real. They have a lovely selection of jewelry, homewares, cards, small gifts and other stationary that were unique and simply darling. It was too tempting to buy 1000 things for myself. I will absolutely return here the next time I need a gift for someone! But don't get me wrong, I did purchase an amethyst chunk bracelet I have zero regrets about. :) As I was checking out, I met the owner, who was lovely. I also really appreciated that while I was shopping, no one followed me around asking me if I liked XYZ. That's a pushy sales technique that just leaves me not wanting to return, and I'm so happy they don't do that. Love!

I came to Cleveland without a jacket and for some reason Google told me that the store closed at 7pm, so at 6:45pm (45 minutes after the store closed), I banged on the glass, and I was greeted with a smile and welcomed inside. The boutique is incredible! I wish we had one like it in Baltimore because I would be there all of the time. They have adorable clothes-- from leggings to dresses to jackets and sweaters. And the price point on a lot of the clothes make them affordable which is awesome. In some stores, you pick up a jacket and pay $400+, but here, you can get adorable jackets for 1/4 of that! Stop by here (before 6pm)-- you won't be sorry!

Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the sales and overall atmosphere of the shop. It's not too cluttered, but it has enough of a selection for any young hipster to find something they might like. I'm not from the area but I will definitely make a note to check back here when I am in town!
