Fried Fish(2) & Wings(6) fries and broccoli
Tanja K.

The food & drinks were good and not overly priced. Karaoke was fun! I will be returning...

Kahla B.

Lively on a karaoke Saturday night. Service was polite and speedy. Food came out fast. Myself and my company ordered oysters, fried combo basket and snow crab boil. 2 of the three alcoholic beverages were not what was expected. They claim it was the brand of liquor we asked for but it definitely wasn't.. besides that great atmosphere. And good food (although a little salty)is all that matters!! I would go again. Always give a second chance to upgrade my review

We were in the mood for a seafood boil bag and we stumbled upon rockin crab so we decided to stop in. The menu was pretty simple, and the portions were decent. Our server was Jada and she was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Jada made sone great suggestions and we ordered the perfect combinations in our seafood bags. We showed up on karaoke night which started at 7:20pm, so there was a live DJ doing karaoke and the music was pretty loud, but the crowd seem to enjoy it. In addition to karaoke it was kind of like an ole-fashion-singalong! The only thing I had a problem with was the condition. Of the bathrooms, they appeared that they were not attended to for the entire day. The food was great, we will definitely be back.

Shrimp boil bag.

I had the half serving shrimp with no head seafood bag. Came with corn on the cob and a potato. The sauce I went with was the mild rockin special sauce. Flavor was good, corn and potato was also good. I didn't quite get stuffed but I was satisfied. Ruffles styled chips for an appetizer. Had an Arnold Palmer for my drink. It was average. Service: upon entering was told the wait would be an hour and half. I dine out often and although there was a crowd and people seated everywhere a body could go, you could tell that was an exaggerated wait time. Wait actually ended up being 20-30 minutes and once seated the service began swiftly. If you're looking for top tier, formal treatment as a customer this place may not be for you. Everyone did their job, but no one was particularly happy that you were there. This could have been because it was close to closing on a karaoke night and the staff was just over it & tired. I would go back, but I wouldn't be expecting to be greeted with open arms. Lol Ambiance: casual place. On a karaoke night it won't be uncommon to see ppl up dancing and singing along with the requested tunes and to dj intermissions. This was the coolest part about dining in and what would make me return. If you aren't one for noisy and upbeat dining I would not suggest this place on their karaoke nights.

S5 Combo: Dungeoness crab, Snow crab, head off Shrimp with garlic butter sauce and lemon pepper seasoning
Destiny H.

I ordered the S5 Combo: Dungeoness crab, Snow crab, head off Shrimp with garlic butter sauce and lemon pepper seasoning with a side of steamed rice The food was tasty. My favorite part was the dungeoness crab. I poured the sauce from the bag on the rice to add some flavor which was excellent! I did not try any alcoholic beverages, but I did get a cherry lemonade which tasted horrible. I should have asked before ordering; I am pretty sure the lemonade used was Minute Maid and their fountain lemonade is literal trash, in my opinion. Susan served us. She was very nice and she explained that Friday & Saturday nights, between 7:30 & 10:30pm, there is a live DJ (@djdubblek). He offers karaoke, at times. If you visit the Instagram page you'll see his posts of these events. On these nights guests are charged $50 for every 30 min they occupy a table --after having been seated for a 2 hour maximum. So, if you come in for dinner at 6:30pm and leave at 9:00 pm you will pay the cost of your meal, plus an additional $50 because your dining experience exceeded 2 hours. I was amused by the license plates posted on the walls. The one right above my table was a California plate that said "OUTATIME" it literally made me burst into laughter after reading the postage regarding the 2 hour notice on my table. Overall, I do highly recommend dining here. I live out of state, but I do plan to visit on a weekend to get the DJ Dubble K experience. From the videos my server showed me he has the restaurant PACKED and SO lively!!

LISTEN!!!! Let me first say, you gotta go. I really hope this don't come bite me in the butt & they start to slack on this, but OMG!!! You get so much food for your money. I appreciate that so much in today's economy. The food was cooked perfectly; the seafood was coming out of the shell with NO issues, broccoli wasn't too soft. The sauce (Rockin Crab Mild) was so good. The spice level was perfect; only wished it was thicker. The calamari was so good; the breading definitely makes me want to try the fried foods so I will definitely be going back. It was a Friday and they had karaoke night. It was definitely kid friendly, but still kinda lit. My server was Rainbow. She was good and made sure we got everything. This is definitely my new crab spot. Oh yea, they give you plain wavy chips as your app as you wait.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!…read more I went for $5 Mondays yesterday, and honestly, if an establishment can't handle a happy hour deal, then they shouldn't offer one. We waited over an hour and a half for lamb chops and a hookah. When the lamb chops finally came out, they were undercooked and presented very sloppy. I immediately told the waitress that I no longer wanted them. She advised me to keep them and said she would have them removed from the bill. I took one bite to confirm that they were, in fact, undercooked and disgusting. The manager then came over, and instead of apologizing or addressing the fact that we had been waiting for so long, he asked me why I bit into the lamb chop if I didn't want it. I explained that the waitress had told me to keep them and that she would take them off the bill. He responded with a nasty attitude, walked away, and then proceeded to yell at the server for about 10 minutes before she finally returned and removed the items from the bill. This situation could have been handled completely differently. A simple apology and professional customer service would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, the way management handled the situation made an already terrible experience even worse. I will never be returning, and I strongly advise that this establishment needs SOME WORK--and it starts with management.

She didn't even greet us and just pointed around saying we can sit anywhere. That's after being ignored by her upon entering. The place was empty, and I see why. Anyway, the food was pretty good. The calamari was great. The chicken and waffles were good also, though I like a little more seasoning on my chicken, and the daiquiri wasn't watered down. The peach cobbler was less than stellar. Our server was decent. Still, upon leaving another customer who had just arrived was complaining about feeling unwelcome. So it wasn't just us. Off that, I can't see myself returning.

I ordered the jolly rancher daiquiri and I loved it. I could barely taste the alcohol and I was able to get 2. I didn't want to return home drunk but it barely affected me. I think it was 95% daiquiri 5% alcohol Now don't think that this is a light weight place cause it's not. They have strong drinks that will take you to the moon ... My suggestion is to go for the drinks and not the food. Our waitress was fab. She checked on us throughout the evening and the vibe was good but it's not a spot for a first date. Only cause they have music playing loudly. It's a chill spot for a night out with friends or family

This is definitely not one of those made up reviews for points!! I had to TRULY stop and take time out of my super busy day to just say what an awesome server ANGELA was!! Then we had to go back in the kitchen and slap the chef, Jermaine!! When I say this young man knows some things about food, the right seasonings & spices, not to mention the freshness and quality of taste of the food!! My daughter had already told me a few days ago that was her first visit and 1 in 1000, she said this restaurant and EVERYTHING about it was 1000! Of course, I had to go see for myself 3 days later and I say 1 in 1000 it was 1000 + 100!! Then I met the owner G and let's just say he sealed the deal for me!! Must have my next great event here, hands-down!! Our visit to Bar 42 felt like an episode of "Guess What's Out of Stock?" It seemed like every other thing we ordered was unavailable. Then came the hookah... except it never actually hookahed. It was completely full because it never worked. We mentioned the issue, then explained it again... and then again... to three different people before the owner finally came over. Instead of an apology, we were told we should have complained sooner. So apparently explaining the same problem to three employees doesn't count as complaining? The resolution? They removed the non-working hookah from the bill, which seems less like a favor and more like charging people only for things that actually function. We also had issues with our drinks, but those concerns were brushed aside. And can we talk about the chicken wings? I've seen more meat on a toothpick. Whoever seasoned those little emotional support wings deserves better ingredients. The most disappointing part wasn't the food or the broken hookah, it was the communication. Rather than listening, the conversation quickly turned into making us feel like we were trying to get something for free. The owner's response of, "If you order food, you're going to have to pay for it," was completely unnecessary because no one was trying to avoid paying. We were asking for a dining experience that matched what we paid for. Speaking of paying... the automatic gratuity of over 20% plus a service fee added up to more than $70. With fees like that, I'd expect the service and customer experience to be just as premium. I don't mind spending money for a great experience. I do mind paying premium prices for broken equipment, unavailable menu items, tiny wings, poor communication, and being blamed for problems we repeatedly tried to address. I sincerely hope Bar 42 improves because it has potential. But potential doesn't pay the bill, customers do.

But what you do get is good food and service. Everyone seemed to enjoy working there, the staff was super nice as was what I assume to be the owner/manager who chatted with us for a bit. Though in an older building, we used to frequent this specific spot back in the day when it was a pizza shop, it's super clean, the restaurant and restroom(s). (I assume the men's is as well kept as the women's.) we were there mid Thursday afternoon and they had quite a few customers! We ordered a few rounds of raw oysters, teriyaki chicken tenders with fries, peel-n-eat shrimp, and buffalo shrimp, so quite a variety and everything tasted great! It's set up like a bar scene, though they only serve beer and wine which I can only assume has to do with the ginormous expense for a full bar liquor license and stock price threshold. The menu leans more into bar food plus some delicious extras such as raw oysters. They also have a board up displaying live music dates and such. I love these types of places, small businesses, especially ones that show so much enthusiasm will always hold a special place in my heart over corporate chains any day in spite of the cost of entry. If I had one recommendation, it would be to update the ketchup bottles. The labels either need to go or just replace the bottles altogether. Otherwise, everything was great!
