This is a must stop shop for us plant lovers. Shop! This is a whole warehouse full of spectacular plant life. There are orchids in abundance, there are philodendrons, and rosemary, and lily's, and every kind and shape of pot for the plants. At first the size of the space overwhelms you. This place looks and feels like a real farm/nursery/growing ground. It is not just shopping it is an experience. I think I got excellent value for my purchases. I am a plant hobbyist and they have an excellent selection of species and containers. The service is friendly and efficient. Unbelievable place, and you would never know it from the street -- thank God for the banner to notify. What looks like a stereotypical farm with greenhouses, you turn down a path that looks like a road to nowhere. But believe me, it's somewhere BIG. At the end of the road, you'll see a few parked cars with a small sign outside of a building "Wholesale". Park, and head right in. What you'll find a warehouse that's the size of a home depot, filled with pots, plants, herbs, and flowers. The gf and I were in heaven browsing around. The retail prices posted are a bit high, so get your resale license and stop shopping at drastically lower wholesale prices (30-50%). One word of caution: dogs, even service dogs, are not permitted. read more

IMHO Do you like nurseries with a HUGE warehouse and variety of plants? Then head over to Rocket Farms in Half Moon Bay. This is a wholesale nursery but the public can visit and buy at retail prices. When you go through the gate, you'll drive on a dirt road past rows and rows of semi-circular covered greenhouses filled with growing plants galore! Keep driving up to the large warehouse building, park and go up the stairs. You'll be amazed at how big this place is. Not only do they sell a huge variety of plants, but you'll also find a huge selection of pottery and accessories. It was fun to just walk around and take it all in. I ended up buying two little orchid plants ($9.99 each). There were so many to choose from! Credit only, no cash. Yes, I will return! read more

This is a nursery where they grow houseplants. The plants are very nice but I thought they were charging high retail prices. I thought it was a wholesale place. Maybe I'm wrong? But the plants at Trader Joe's are just as nice and aren't so pricey. Unlikely that I'll go back. They had some very cute, very small Easter pots that were 99 cents and that's affordable. Would be cute for a small gift or a project for a classroom. I would imagine they have this sort of thing for the other holidays too. I only saw one person working at the cash register and one other who looked like they tended to the plants. No one asked if I needed help. Not a bad thing necessarily because I wasn't buying anything. Four stars because the plants were undeniably great if you can afford them. read more

Truck drivers are also insanely rude. I would never spend money or do business with this place or these people with no human kindness. read more

Some rules to know: You can only make a purchase if you are licensed reseller so bring your CA permit You have to have an account on file to make a purchase but you can fill out an application the same day Do your research. I think some of the prices are pretty high but they are overall the center for wholesale plants. Map directions beforehand because you can easily drive right past the main showroom because the highway is pretty busy and everyone behind you is driving fast. The hours on Yelp are not accurate they are open on Saturdays until noon. read more

The potted plant simply LOADED with ripe tomatoes is gorgeous and only 8.00!! Would make a wonderful gift except I don't want to part with mine. read more

I purchased 2 Venus Fly Traps from a local Walmart. These plants were from Rocket Farms. Following the care directions (ie: not over-watering, no fertilizer, and using only distilled water) both died within two weeks. It was very disappointing. read more

This is heaven right here on earth. I must note right away though that this place is WHOLESALE ONLY! The public is not allowed into this paradise. I''m still not sure how I was able to come here and shop, but get on good terms with your landscaper and then make them take you here. I heard the minimum purchase is $150 (or so I have been told) but that is not difficult to do. These wholesale growers provide most of the plants and garden supplies that you find everywhere else for sale in your garden centers, hardware and drug stores all over California. This place is nothing short of enormous, magnificent and gorgeous! Being surrounded by so much incredible greenery and amazing florals all in one location gives one pause to be thankful for a sense of sight and smell. You will literally find everything here. And in addition to everything plant-wise, they also sell loads and loads of other garden accessories, pots, seasonal and home decor for ridiculous prices - that's what wholesale is all about. This is "cost." I was lucky enough to be taken here for a project I was involved in. We purchased beautifully fully planted and blooming filled floral baskets for around $17 each. These were giant-size! Not only that they were planted with quality plants and filled to the brim. This is what you will pay $40-$50 each (or more) for if you get one like this in a garden store. Orchids. You like orchids? Rows and rows of exotic plants starting at around $10 each (maybe less). We purchased some indoor palms that were 5-6 ft. in height in 5-gallon pots for around $15 each! Again, this is at least 1/2 to 1/3 the cost to buy this same plant elsewhere. I won't go into more details because they really do sell everything imaginable here. If you can swing it, find someone with a resale license and get to this place. Your garden, soul and senses (and bank account) will love you for it. read more

The other yelper was right. This place IS heaven on earth. The smells alone when you walk around are enough to make you dizzy. We just drove up one day in my Dad's Jimmy, parked the car and started walking around. We didn't know that you couldn't do it so I guess ignorance is bliss. No one questioned us, no one stopped us, my Mom had a resale license so maybe that was the reason it was hands off of us. Because Half Moon Bay is so great for growing things, you can get almost anything here. Orchids, flowers, ferns, palms, it's just incredible how many plants and things they have. And the trucks and vans kept coming and going all of the time. What a business. The quality was fantastic. The prices amazing and the service wonderful. I would go back in a second to buy what I need here but we are well stocked now thanks to Nurserymen's Exchange. A true hidden and secret gem. read more

i am not sure how i feel about this place. WHAT they actually grow is pretty boring actually. this where you go when you are landscaping a mall, or an office, or an atrium (as was the case with me). nothing too wild and fancy, but everything that is there is really nice and big. its high quality material for sure. there actually is some more unusual stuff, you just have to dig through all of the cat palms, draceanas and scheffleras to get to it. their prices are pretty steep here actually, but you pay for instant satisfaction. we bought a fishtail palm in a 10(ish) gallon pot and it had to have been 8 feet or more tall. they also have some pots, but they are kind of cheap and cheesy looking. there really isnt any service so to speak of, but flagging down someone to help you isnt that difficult, and, besides, this IS wholesale, not retail. read more

Each isle is an exciting surprise of yet another interesting and sometimes rare plant or orchid. This is wholesale - so forget much customer service - but the staff is always friendly. Terrible labor practices. It will be interesting to see if the quality can be maintained with minimum wage workers with no benefits or job security. This is a wonderful place. They are always wonderful and helpful. They also take requests. If you call early enough, they can even grow things for you! We have ordered burgundy mums for delivery in June! There is no other place that have that kind of wonderful service! - anywhere! Frank is always pleasant and wonderful.
