This Ace Hardware was so nice! It's a very small store, but there's a lot in there and I didn't have any trouble getting most of what I needed. Although it's a small shop, there are plenty of staff members to help everyone. There were a good number of customers, but everyone was being helped in a very timely manner. No waiting at all! Plus, the staff are all extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They will find what you need within minutes! Also, they will recommend the best place to go if they don't carry it. I can't say enough good things about Rockery Ace. They are a small, neighborhood hardware store with a huge heart. I am always greeted immediately, and am offered help. The first question is always, "How are you", which is followed by, "What can we help you find today?". I swear, no matter what cockamamie hardware item I'm looking for, they know exactly where it is in their store. I have been to this location several times for random items. A locking mechanism for a sliding door to leave the door cracked, but prevent intruders from opening the door and entering, extra window locks, keys made, and most recently, a net for catching prized Mardi Gras throws. The staff has always been friendly, greeting all customers entering. If you need something they do not have, they will call around looking for the item for you, which is a nice touch. The large parking lot is shared with other stores in this strip mall, but there is plenty of room. Although the Rockery Ace Hardware is not my usual "go-to" spot for my hardware needs, I still patronize them from time to time as they are geographically close to my house. I cannot recall a time that upon entering the store, I was not greeted by a sales associate and asked if there was anything they could help me find. Speaking of sales associates, Rockery Ace is amply staffed. In fact, it almost seemed to me that they were overstaffed. This is not necessarily a bad thing because even though the store was busy on my last visit, there were plenty enough employees to assist everyone. The store is deceptively big once you walk through the doors, and they have a large selection of products from which to choose. On my few visits here, I cannot recall a time when they didn't have almost everything I was looking for. Furthermore, if there is an item that they do not carry, they are king enough to recommend a store that can assist. The prices here are reasonable, albeit slightly higher than what you'd pay at a national mega-chain store like Lowes or Home Depot. However, the personalized service you receive and the convenience of shopping in your neighborhood and supporting the locals more than makes up for it. read more

Wonderful hardware store at the intersection of Robert E Lee and Canal Blvd. a small storefront that is packed with all of the things one might need - from light bulbs and screws and washers to lawn care items, super glue, plumbing supplies and all the things one would expect to see in a traditional hardware store! Ace Hardware Rockery is a great little store. The assistants are all so helpful. They know where everything is and want to help the customers find exactly what they need. If you are not quite sure about what you need they will help with suggestions and ideas. All the servers are so nice. They welcome you when you come in the door and are happy to help. If you just want to wander the isles that is fine too. Prices are good and they provide services that the big box stores will not do such as rekeying locks. Which I really appreciate. My favorite hardware store! Funny friendly knowledgeable staff. Standard hardware store faire. Makes keys the old school way. Storytime!: The first time I ended up here I had been all over the city trying to find someone who could make a key that would actually start my car. It's a non-transponder key but they do make transponders over here too. Anyway I had been to two walmarts, home depot, lowes and several locksmiths. Problem is almost everyone uses the same laser key cutting system. I was about to go to the dealer and spend a good amount of money just to get spare keys. But in a last ditch effort I called them up. The guy who answered didn't even ask what kind of car I have or nothing he was just like come on over. He sounded confident so I did. Give him the key and he cuts some new ones on the machine and then follows me out to the car. They don't work. Bummer. But then! he pulls out a file and starts filing away on the keys. After he de-burrs them he hands 'em back and asks me to try them out. ALL OF THEM WORK!!!! Hallelujah! Now you'd think with all that special treatment I'd be charged more or something. NOPE. Paid the normal price for a key. They made a customer for life that day. Been back several times and have not been disappointed in them once. read more

I entered in need of one item - a flat washer with a 1-inch diameter hole. Lowe's nor Home Depot had one. The three gentlemen working immediately greeted me and one asked me if he could help. I'm a fan of having this place close by. Helpful for various household projects for common hardware items and specialty parts. The staff is more knowledgable than Home Depot's. I wish the prices were better but I wish that about most places these days. Some items are cheaper than HD, some aren't. read more

Honest ACE Helpful and prompt, I'll take ACE over Home Depot any day! I gave a young man who greeted me instantly upon entering the store my house key that I needed copied and he did so in under 30 seconds. Then I showed him my towel rack that pulled from my wall and he got me all the right screws I needed and even told me how to install it! I'm not big on household projects particularly those involving screwing things into my walls but he made this project as quick and painless as possible, eye rolls not included. And it was super reasonable! I will definitely be back. read more

Rockery is a small Ace hardware store located at the corner of Robert E Lee & Canal Blvd in Lakeview. This is one of the last bastions of great hardware service. As with Bassil's Ace in Metairie, (another favorite), and the very few remaining locally owned hardware stores, the moment you walk in the door you are greeted and helped. Just tell them what you are looking for and they will take you to it. Yes, the prices are slightly higher on some things than those 'big box' hardware stores but you can get in and out much much faster and you do not have the same problems if you need to return an item. I walked in needing plumbing parts to install a bathroom sink. I had the drain pipe from the new sink and the diameter of the large drain pipe that went into the wall. The salesman went straight to the plumbing department and began pulling a combination of parts. He laid them out for me showing how they would attach and made sure that I had thread sealant and PVC cement. I went home and within 30 minutes the water was flowing in my new sink, (and not leaking)! I can not stress too much just how nice it is to get old fashion service. I saved a ton by not calling my plumber! read more
