I came in for a cut and style with sarah. i showed her my references and i was given microbangs and a Dora bob. absolutely my hair was BOTCHED. when I had emailed asking for help, I was ignored for a month UNTIL I left a negative review on their page. They replied in email with a "suggestion" to have the SAME girl cut my hair, who she was the one who had ruined it, as a "solution" to her botching my hair. so I didn't reply because I was appalled. so they replied to my review snarky like it was my fault, and left out details of our conversation. I have been ghosted for three months by the owner of this salon named Janey! I am a middle-aged female in my 40s that has 5 inches of overgrowth and black and gray hair. She has highlighted me and gave me a balayage. Both are now brassy as hell and looks like shit like I bleached out my own hair. I have literally spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars with this woman and she has now ghosted me for the third time! This is unacceptable for any business... Let alone the owner of the salon! I do not recommend that anyone goes to her with anything other than basic generic needs, that is all she is capable of!!!! so pitiful!!!!! read more

This place is kind of known around town as a top place to go if you want an up-to-date haircut. It is located right downtown so if you're a little early, there's plenty of places to pop in for a beer or snack while you wait. When you first sign up, they want you to message them with a plan or call them so get your appointment set up. I messaged them on FB and they set me up with the person that they thought would do the best with my request. They were right on the money. Megan is perfection. She gave me a cut that exceeded my request. I literally get stopped by strangers about my hair now. It's a wonderful thing. Also, once you are set up in the system, you can book online. They also send you a reminder text the day before to confirm which is awesome. I highly recommend this place to anyone that needs an updated look! read more

***After posting my review to their business page, many people commented to agree with me. After doing so, the salon began contacting any that left a poor review's employers and started directly contacting people to remove their comments. Poor management, poor attitude, poor conflict resolution*** A few weeks ago I went to Rock Your Locks Salon in Saginaw to get my hair done. Per usual I was really excited to get my hair done. The top two photos that in the collage on here are what I asked for. Ombre. The bottom right is what I got. ORANGE. And the cost? $182. I was shocked but what could I do? I paid it. I also grabbed a price sheet from their counter and went home. After looking at the price list I noticed a HUGE discrepancy. For ombre and color, according to their sheet, I should have paid around $100. I called and spoke with the CO-OWNER about this and this is the gist of the conversation. Basically she rudely told me that it was a color correction and and thats what they charged for ($50/hr) because I supposedly told them I had box dye in my hair. I HAVENT HAD BOX DYE IN MY HAIR SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL. I nicely explained this to them. I stated several times that I have no problem paying for the actual services I had but that I was over charged and expect that money back. I even told her that although the stylist turned my hair orange, she was really nice and I wasnt trying to get anyone in trouble. Long story short, the CO OWNER put me on speaker phone where someone in the back ground was running their mouth after everything I said. They basically told me tough luck, its our policy and that Im lying about the color correction part. I am completely dumbfounded by how an owner of a business just treated me. Can't say enough good things about the staff here! Such an inclusive, friendly place with talented stylists. My daughter got a very short hairstyle she has been wanting for a long time, and the staff was amazing, took time to make sure it was a hairstyle that would work for her and taught her how to style it. Rock Your Locks is all about being unapologetically who you are, and I love that sentiment! When you walk in everyone is super friendly and they get you settled right away. This is the place to go if you want cutting edge style and color- Janey and Pixie are fabulous. My four year old son and I both get our haircut there; what might be my favorite part is that the stylists here are honest about what I can do with my hair. Whenever I take a picture of what I'd like into the salon, Janey looks at it and discusses what it will look like with my own hair and then gives me the closest possible version. Loved my first appointment with Pixie at RYL! This is the place to go if you're looking for modern, edgy, fun, and contemporary services. They are taking EVERY precaution to keep clients and staff safe including mask requirements, hand washing, frequent sanitizing, separating hair drying stations from the rest of the stations to prevent particles from being spread, and temperature checks. I felt very safe, yet comfortable. Pixie was extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and kind. Fixed my grown-out, self-cut buzz into a soft, manageable shag with ease. Price was beyond reasonable, and I left feeling relaxed and refreshed! I'll definitely be back! read more

When I went to Sabrina a couple months ago, she completely ruined my long locks with a pink color melt that wasn't even what I wanted color wise. It took me 3 separate corrections to fix it. Yes I'm still frustrated hence the review. She shouldn't be considered a hair professional. read more

I booked a consultation online. It was not stated anywhere that the consultation would cost $50 that would serve as a deposit for the future hair appointment. I was looking forward to my experience here because their website stated that the team at Rock Your Locks takes time and consults with other styles to give you what you want. That they care and keep your hairs health in mind. When I arrived I didn't get a sense of that at all. Jazmine was nice but overall I didn't feel like she tried to make an effort to make me comfortable. When she waxed my brows she didn't say a word to me the whole time. She didn't offer any aloe or lotion/moisturizer post wax. I left the dark-dim lit salon with inflamed skin. I have dry, sensitive skin (she would've known if she would've asked me that.) Overall, I left feeling uncomfortable and I don't trust her to color my hair. All I can think is-"how do they know what they're doing when it is so poorly lit in there?" I cancelled my hair appointment with her because she didn't make me feel like she has the confidence to rock my locks. I have now lost $50. I realize the $50 deposit is the salon's policy but it just seems like a way to trap someone in to feeling like they're obligated to return. read more

WORST SALON EVER! I will never go to this salon. This specific location should be ashamed to call themselves a business. Not giving the outcome to customes as they would like and treating them like actual dirt is UNACCEPTABLE! If you own a business you need customers to keep that business going. I have only been here for a pedicure and cannot comment on any other service. The atmosphere was dark and uncomfortable. I was led to the unfinished basement where they had an old couch in the corner. (The upstairs looked like a rockin', fun place.) There was no way for me to sit comfortably in this worn out couch and still sit in a position where my feet would reach into the bucket on the floor. The technician used some sort of paraffin/waxy lotion on me that she did not bother to wash off and was flaking off of me the rest of the day until I could get home. read more
