My dr called me in a prescription, I never got a call like they said, I let my dr know I didn't receive the call & the next day I did. I am still giving 5 stars as this is the first prescription I received from them & this cream actually works, more than any other combination of meds (tried so many meds) over the last 12 years to treat rheumatoid & osteoarthritis. I've been able to sleep better the first 2 nights since I received the cream. Hoping with regular use along with my tramadol, that I will continue to have decreased pain & will be able to sleep a full 5-8 hours without waking up in pain every 2 hours, taking ibuprofen every 4 hours while I should be sleeping read more

I have never had them answer the phone in the 5 years I've been doing business with them. You have to leave a message and wait, sometimes days, for them to call you back. Unfortunately, my prescription is a compound formula and this is the only pharmacy my doctor can use. I called a month ago to get a prescription filled and just realized it never arrived. I called in a prescription refill and after two weeks realized I didn't hear or see anything. I called and the young woman said they fax the request to the doctor once a week. I asked if you call after not hearing from the doctor and she said no, they just fax the order. Silly me, I would think after the first fax and not hearing from the doctor or the office you would call to make sure they did get the fax or do a follow-up. I called the office myself and they approved the request. Gee, that took all of 5 minutes. Usually the people here are nice and helpful but they do need to up their game. A word to the wise with RVC: track dates and names of staff when discussing particulars of your prescription. Their system for documentation of conversations seems a bit lacking. As a result, you might get stuck with an unwanted formulation and be unable to return it. Staff is cordial and prompt with return calls, otherwise. read more

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. The rheumatologist ordered some prescription pain cream for my arthritis. The prescrpition was manufactured on-site and ready within 2 hours! One of the creams did not mix well and there was no problem with having it mixed again. These people go out of their way to maintain high standards! For those not familiar with compounding pharmacies, these are specialty facilities in which specifically ordered lotions, creams, drug combinations, supplements are made. Typically your regular pharmacy will send these prescriptions out to these facilities or their corporate pharmaceutical labs and you end up waiting several days for your prescription. Not at a compunding pharmacy. These pharmacists are like chemists and mix the concoctions right there in a laboratory just like the old-time downtown pharmacists used to do in the neighborhood family drugs stores. Only drawback...they do not fill regular prescriptions and only fill specialized prescriptions. Nice to know there is one nearby. read more

This pharmacy has helped me out more then any other pharmacy. For both my pregnancies i needed to have progesterone injections to keep the pregnancy. They have never been late on refills, i always get a phone call reminder NOT an automated computer. Multiple times my insurance has had issues with coverage and they have either personally called or made it work so i can get my prescription with no lapse or late dose! No issues ever with this place. read more

I transferred prescriptions from North Park to RVCP a couple of years ago. There have been few months in those two years that I did not experience some kind of issue with RVCP, whether it was a quantity issue, a doctor refill follow-up issue, or, on the final occasion, verbally quoting one price and charging me another. On the latter, and final, issue, RVCP had decided to stop contracting with my insurance, but instead of telling me at the time they dropped my insurance, they continued to honor the co-pay for a few months and then decided to call me and tell me that they were raising the price on the medication, which is how it was initially put to me: I would now be charged $30/prescription. Only during my probing did the woman on the phone tell me that the price had gone from $8 to $30 BECAUSE they HAD BEEN honoring my insurance co-pay for the past few months, when they had actually dropped my insurance. My issue here is not that they raised the price so much as they did not inform me AT THE TIME that they stopped contracting with my insurance. So, again, I was told that the medication would now be $30, and I quoted this price to my spouse and other pharmacies when I was shopping around for a lower price. When I received the refill from RVCP, I was stunned that I was charged $35. When I called the pharmacy (keep in mind the aforementioned myriad mistakes), both the woman who quoted the price and the pharmacy manager/pharmacist told me I was wrong, that I was told $35. By this time, with all of the complaints I had lodged about their mistakes, it was clear that no love was lost when I told them I would not return. Although I had some issues with North Park pharmacy (e.g., I found an extraneous pill in my prescription bottle, one that was NOT my prescribed medication), I will either return to North Park for compounding needs in the future, or I will find a compounding pharmacy outside of Rockford. read more
