Wish we would have researched this "urgent care facility" before going. My husband went in for Covid, was told by the doctor they don't treat Covid. That was it. They took his blood pressure and sent him on his way. Then the bills came. This "urgent care facility" is actually an "emergency room" and they bill as such. Got an enormous bill because our insurance treated it as an emergency room. Over 500$ to be told they won't treat him. NorthPointe, you are NOT AN EMERGENCY ROOM. Who would go here for a gun shot wound? Or a car accident? A total and complete SCAM. Stay away. read more

If you are a patient at this clinic you better not need to get a hold of your Dr. Every time I call I am on hold for over an hour, now they can put you on a call back, but that seems to take even longer. If you out of meds... we'll...... good luck!!!!! I found the meds I needed and waited on hold for over 45 min, left a msg where I found my meds....... Still waiting to hear back. The meds I take are out of stock a lot so by the time they feel like returning my call.... They'll be gone. Good luck North point patients!!! read more

I feel goofy reviewing a medical campus, but heck, here we go. Due to a medical condition I go here for routine treatments. The staff is always nice and friendly. I was in there yesterday after not having been in for three months and the receptionist remembered who I was! The building is clean, and well maintained. I will tell you that the first time I went there, I thought I was at the wrong place. From the outside it looks more like a ski resort than a medical complex. Once you get inside you'll still wonder if you are in the right place. Seriously, there is a large hotel like lobby with a fireplace and a Mary's Market stand. I know they have a lot of different amenities for people. Including work out areas and various exercises classes as well as an Urgent Care clinic. I really can't tell you much about the doctors that work there as I only see one specialist and I'm not divulging who or why I see them! read more

Came in for urgent care and the wait was over 2 hours for a UTI. Horrible experience. I understand everywhere is understaffed but there is no sense of urgency. A girl next to me had an ear infection and also had to wait two hours. Very disappointed and I do not recommend for urgent care as it was not urgent at all. read more

What an excellent facility, was traveling visiting family and paid for a week long membership. Tons of cardio and strength training equipment. Gym area was clean and well lit. Never had to wait for a machine despite many other members using the equipment, plenty to go around. Locker and shower rooms were huge and very clean. This is NOT a health club, this is not a work out facility, not sure what catagory this would fit in, wife says it's more of a spa. I would say it's NOT cheap. MOST members are elderly people, not that that's an issue, just not real motivating. A few muscle heads that impress the older women. Not much in the way of workout equipment, and the rooms are dark, again, not real motivating. I would not be a member if not for my wife, she loves the pools and sauna. BTW the lockers rooms ya just have to experience, not that it's dirty, the people are, well, interesting. Have to thumbs up the "I don't have to worry about being picked up" comment, yea, thanks for the laugh, really. UPDATE: 10/1/14 Went to their urgent care facility twice in the past year, both times billing was messed up. Once received a collection notice for a bill we never received. Second time for a bill that was paid within 2 weeks from my insurance. Tried calling for a week and continued to get a voice mail to try back later WHAT! This place is horrible! read more

I don't have a complaint about the physicians at this facility. They were fine. My complaint is about the fee schedule that they use. I've worked in a medical office previously and was shocked when I got my bills. They were probably 4 times what I would normally pay for certain things like X-rays and an exam. They are gouging their patients and I feel that's wrong. I won't be back. read more

This is a Huge gym/medical complex that has a lot to offer. The right side of the building is a membership based gym and also has physical therapy. In regards to the gym, it is a very upscale high end gym. It has every type of equipment you could need, all of which have TV's built in. There are always staff available to help with instruction or personal training if wanted. They also have a variety of spin classes and yoga. There is also two Olympic swimming pools, one heated and the other normal. Even the locker rooms are upscale with high end shaving stuff, shampoo, soap, and even cologne. The lockers all have codes so there is no need for locks. Overall it is a nice facility for the cost of membership. It is situated on a large plot of land with a walking trail going around it. There is not much of crowd most of the time so use of the machines is not a problem. Membership is limited to over 14 years old, but there is a babysitting area available too. read more

Very disappointed in trying to make appointment for massage get the run around whenever I would call up there. So, today I go was told I was in and they had my phone number this was made by a young girl that had answered the phone, trying to transfer me to the spa. Phone went back to her. Needless to say was told I had a 11:45 appointment Saturday. Arrived and they had no record of me being booked & they were booked. I won't try again. I went to north point to establish with a primary care physician. First of all, the staff was inept. It took the woman inputting my information over an hour once I sat down in her booth to input all the information from my credit card sized insurance card (United healthcare nothing obscure). Anyway I see my doctor, Dr. Elezi. Apparently he just finished his residency in Chicago and is new to the area. He was extremely vulgar whether trying to relate to me as a young man or whatever I don't care it is not appropriate for your doctor to be cursing while speaking to you about your health. Additionally his hygiene was questionable and he likes to talk to people from 6 inches in front of their faces. All of this would have been fine if not for what happened next.. I went in for a prescription refill and dr. Elezi said that once he could see a previous diagnosis on my medical records, no problem. It took over three weeks to receive the first set of my medical records (and three trips to north point to fill out medical records release authorization forms that were lost or misfaxed) which apparently were not enough. Next I requested my medical records from my pediatrician, another three weeks. Just a couple days ago, I received a bill for $238 dollars for my visit, when I am fully insured and have a 15 dollar office visit copay.. When I called and queried about the bill the staff let me know that it was inappropriately billed out of network, and said that they would re-bill me. To sum it up, mistake after mistake was inappropriately and unapologetically managed and I have since found a new primary care physician at Swedish American here in Roscoe, just up the road.. I had zero issues with Swedish American - you should have seen the horrified looks on their faces when I described my experience at north point. The funniest part is that the entire staff of north point knows who is writing this, as I called EVERY SINGLE DAY to politely ask if my medical records had showed up yet (usually a 1-3 day process that lasted over six weeks). Needless to say, I am on a first name basis with the woman who handles record transfers for Beloit health systems, and I can say that she was the only staffer who seemed legitimately interested in my difficulties, or otherwise made any effort to ameliorate my concerns. Bottom line is, unless you're forced to use Beloit health system, specifically north point due to whatever constrictions are placed on your insurance, I am sorry for you. Otherwise, you will find it prudent to find another health care provider before similar issues arise. I cannot speak to the quality of the gym, however previous reviews seem to love it. This is misleading if you are looking for a primary care physician or medical consultation. Service was horrible and their handling of the situation was even worse. I would give less than one star if i could. read more

This place is just great! The staff is very friendly, the showers are clean, the equipment is maintained. I have no complaints. This place has a community feel to it. Lots of senior citizens who come here, which is great when you are a woman and don't want to be hit on, just work out. Would definitely recommend. I love working out here! I usually don't use the upstairs equipment and spend most of my time in the lap pool, but you can't do much better! The towels are clean and soft, they provide EVERYTHING you might need except for the swimsuit or workout clothes (soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hair gel, hair dryers, swim suit dryers, hair spray, etc.). The pool is impeccably clean and if lanes are being used for classes, there are always others open for lap swimming! You can go for a swim any time they are open, and it's very peaceful. Nice (clean) windows looking out on the beautiful area outside, they have kick boards, wedges, and other materials for you to use, and NO CHILDREN playing around in the pool. I love swimming there (& the yoga classes are great too.The instructors are amazing). If you are looking for a nice place to swim laps, I would definitely recommend it! read more

So I thought this was going to be a great place but I scheduled an appointment to see a physician about two weeks in advance and then when I called the day of the appointment to see if I still had it they said they never wrote anything down so I wasn't able to see a doctor. And all she kept saying was that she can schedule me another appointment two weeks out. Never going there again. If they're scheduling system is that bad I can't imagine how their doctors are. read more

The other wonderful thing with NorthPoint is that is is such a professional environment associated with Beloit Health System. The gym itself is ok. They did a reorganization of equipment and made things worse. I don't know who did the math on this current layout. The staff is very nice. I will not use the clinic portion of the facility. There billing department is awful. I was double billed when my wife went there for an ear infection. I received two bills for the exact same amount and they insisted that is how they do it. I don't think a look in the ear and antibiotic script should cost $480.00 So I will never go back there, but I share my experience when ever the topic of the clinic comes up. read more

Beware of the immediate care at this facility. My daughter went with symptoms consistent with thrush. Dr. Brian Jokhy spent all of two minutes listening to her, did a strep culture which turned out to be negative. He prescribed steroids and told her to see Dr. Hofmann in Beloit if the steroids did not work. Dr. Hofmann sees patients once a week, and she would not be able to get in until August. Long story short, she ended up going to the ER a couple of days later as she became sicker. They swabbed her throat and said they would have results in a day or two. Turns out she tested positive for haemophilus influenzae and thrush. The bacteria had already spread to her esophagus. I don't know if the lack of care is the norm for this doctor, or if he just did not listen to my daughter because she is a 21 yr old. Either way, he put her health at risk and the best part is we still get to pay the bill, what a joke. read more

Saw Dr. Kapoor in dermatology....He prescribed me a medication. I went to the pharmacy to pick it up and my insurance didn't cover much, so I asked for an alternative. The first prescription was for 100mg then the second was for 400mg. Which was 16 tubes of cream! How am I going to use 16 tubes of cream in a year? Before it expires? It was just for a small rash on my face. He should have known how much he was giving me. What in the world am I going to do with all of that! Very very disappointed!!!!! This is for the Spa. I just had a Signature Massage. Not the best massage that I've ever had, more like a Rub then a massage. The mud on the back was nice but the table I was on did not feel warm so I was pretty much cold most of the time. When I mentioned this to the girl she turn it on or up and by the end of the massage I felt the warmth of the bed. She never asked me about any oil that I may like as the brochure stated. The facility for working out is very nice. The employees are great. I like to go to the facility in the morning between 8am to 9:30am on weekdays. I try very hard to over look the senior citizen population that attend this facility. They are a turn off with bad attitudes and big mouths. They sit too long on the machines to catch a breath and bully themselves around the track. I mind my own business. I had a man aged 70+ approach me while I was on a machine telling me I needed to wipe down the machine after use. I had just started working out and he approached me while changing machines. If he thought I was causing an issue he should have alerted the staff but I was not causing a problem except in his narrow mind. I get the part of wiping stuff down but the old people are paranoid. They saturate the machines so much I get wet pants from sitting down. I don't slobber sweat on the machines. If I did I would be walking around with a canister of wipes like that guy. I should have said something to him for sitting too long at the machine after he was finished since he had to catch his breath. The membership is not cheap and the reason I chose this facility is because I thought stuff like this would not go on. This is the first time at a workout facility that I have been approached by the opposite sex in a condescending way. I'm glad I bought a monthly membership. Just beware and on guard around the senior citizens and don't let them push you around. read more

I love the workout facility, it is top of the line however if you walk over to the medical facility its like a whole different world. The immediate care clinic is terrible. The facility is wonderful but the staffing is terrible. The doctors are not thorough and twice now I have taken my son in for breathing issues and he was not even checked out but just prescribed an antibiotic. Both times he actually had croup which antibiotics do not cure. The third and final time I went there, I had waited for almost a half hour to have a nurse come out and say "um...im sorry but the Dr. never even showed up so we don't have anyone here to help you"....that was the LAST straw. read more

I have never visited NorthPointe Health for myself but since I live only minutes away, they were my first choice for immediate care. As a healthcare worker I suppose I have a certain level of professionalism that I expect from fellow healthcare workers. Upon entering the facility the woman working registry was on the phone. Her very first comment she made, "Ugh, of course someone would come in right now!" She eventually got off the phone and asked me why I was there. Well, I am 7 weeks pregnant and have experienced some concerning symptoms that I wanted to have checked out for some peace of mind more than anything else. She informed me that she believe the ultrasound tech had left for the day at 3:30 but that she would confirm this with the nurse. I overheard the conversation from the front desk and could hear the nurse exclaiming about legalities. The nurse came out and without introducing herself or even saying hello she says to me, "Legally I cannot tell you what to do. The ultrasound tech left at 3:30." So, I said o.k. I should go somewhere that can do an ultrasound and the nurse replied, in a crass tone, "I didn't say that! I said the ultrasound tech left at 3:30." The nurse then turned and walked away. I have never been so disgusted with someone's lack of customer service and professionalism. First of all, you're a nurse and yet your treat potential patients like shit. I can see they hired you for your sunny disposition! Yes, that was sarcasm, perhaps you should consider a field where you don't interact with people! Needless to say, I left this facility in tears. You really need to do some homework and ask around with staff and members because there is a huge difference between staff and administration and policies. NorthPointe has to compete with Peak Fitness and the YMCA. I asked them what are the differences of NorthPointe over Peak and the YMCA. I was told, "We are affiliated with a hospital (This doesn't mean a whole lot to me because I already have a good healthcare provider at Swedish American) and this is an adult facility," (This means fewer teenagers are around and I personally don't care about that either). I know several people at NorthPointe who had double billing issues for those who used the spa and workout facility on the same day and it was a nightmare for them to get their money back. The YMCA said their advantage is its involvement in the community and this is true plus the YMCA is the most cost effective. The issue with the Northeast YMCA campus is limited equipment with NO Stairmaster equipment and that is one of the best things I can do for a short but intense workout plus the lap lanes for swimming are limited. Peak has the equipment, staff, and pricing that beats NorthPointe. Finally, what swung it for us to Peak was the attitude of the staff and workers. The line staff at all the places loves what they do but at NorthPointe there is an undercurrent of distrust to the administration. This exists from the trainers to the spa employees. It seems to be the elephant in the living room at NorthPointe. In any event, we opted for Peak for the avaialbility of the equipment (24/7), an ample amount of equipment, enough lap lanes and hours of availability (NorthPointe reduces lap availability during peak swim times because they have a deal with the Hononegah swim teams several months out of the year), cost is lower at Peak than NorthPointe and comes really close to the YMCA cost, Peak has a great indoor pool area for families and during the nicer weather the outdoor pool facilities are fantastic. Anybody can use the running trails at NorthPointe without being a member so the only thing you're paying for is a halfway decent workout facility that is kept clean with fewer teenagers and a lot older demographic for clientele.
