Rock Star Boot Camp would get 10 stars + if I had my way!!! I started at RSBC back in 2011, didn't know what to expect my first day like many...after that day...I was hooked!!! In 90 days I ate right and got in the best shape of my life thanks to Curtis and his positive, challenging, ever changing workout routines. 2012 came and work moved me out of AZ...I wanted to keep staying in shape, so I joined a boot camp in my new area...Nope! bad idea..lol it was not good! It was missing something...so I joined another boot camp...same thing, just not right...so a 3rd boot camp!!! terrible!!! Long story short...I gave up. got fat and didn't work out for 5 yrs. Fast forward to 2017...I moved back to AZ and the first thing I did was join RSBC again...I couldn't wait!!! IT IS AMAZING!!! Better than before!!! How could this be? I loved it!!! Ok I get bored very very easily with a gym routine. I love Rockstar Bootcamp because EVERY day is something different. I have never done the same workout twice. It is the best investment in me that I have made. You can spend 2-3 times this much on a personal trainer at the gym or you can have Deb or Curtis give you nutrition advice and kick your body into shape. I joined Rock Star 1 month ago and it is an amazing experience! Curtis (the instructor) is extreemly motivating. I purchased a Groupon in Feb. with my husband for $20 to try out Rock Star. We had been at our gym for over 10 years and had tried every group class on the planet (kickboxing, boot camp, step, etc.) but were looking for something different. We found it with Rock Star! Curtis and Mindy are excellent trainers. I found them here on Yelp. I then went to FB and the Groupon. The workout changes everyday. The music changes everyday. The workouts are intense but because you are in a group and with Curtis/Mindy motivating, it works out and you get through it. * I started Rock Star Boot Camp when I signed up for an awesome deal on Enamour in September. I've never been one to like exercising, I get bored quickly due to the repetitiveness, nothing new going on. But I have been with Rock Star because it's different all the time, and it's quick, 40 minutes & your body gets kicked into shape. It's tough, no doubt about it, but I feel like I am accomplishing something. Curtis is supportive, but won't coddle you...that's exactly what I need to stick with an exercise schedule. About a year ago now I joined Rock Star Boot Camp with my now fiance soon to be husband. I was bored of the gym scene, doing the same thing week by week. I can honestly say that I have yet to have the same work out with RSBC. In a entire year! I have lost a total of 30lbs and have maintained it since going to bootcamp. Not only is Curtis amazing in all his workouts but he tells you the truth. It's not just working out it's your life. RSBC is no joke. I joined on 4.22.13 and am in L-O-V-E! I've lost weight and inches, my clothes and wedding ring don't fit. For the 1st time in my life I have to wear a belt! These are fun, challenging, kick ass workouts in 40 minutes, every workout is different; nothing boring. Trainers and other members are supportive, encouraging, inspirational, amazing. Trainers accommodate everyone - whether you're just starting out, have been working out for a while, have injuries, etc. - there's a modification for everything. Trainers promote not giving up, doing your personal best. I'm am evening camper, and with workouts being outside sometimes it sucks during the hot AZ summers, but I endure. My sweat usually vaporizes before hitting the ground. Curtis cares - he installed a misting system, has fans and a portable evap. Workout times are spread throughout the day - find the right one for you. You get in, work hard and leave feeling accomplished, invigorated and exhausted all at the same time. This boot camp isn't for weenies. It's for those who want to change their bodies BY EARNING IT. Since joining I've gained strength, stamina, knowledge, and I run faster and father than ever before. If you are looking for a place to relax and become complacent with your exercise routines then RSBC is NOT the place for you. I suggest you go find a gym where you can walk in, do some curls, some bench presses, maybe some squats on a Smith machine, and then run on the treadmill for a little while before you leave because RSBC is NOT the place for you. BUT, if you want to confuse your body, put your body in a continuous state of optimal flux, and thus create the solid core you've always craved then RSBC is your home. I spent the last 2.5 years as a member of this boot camp and am now in the best shape of my life. Curtis has trained me enough to get in shape for two Spartan Sprints and a Spartan Super during my 2.5 years. Other members have reached even loftier goals than I have. I highly recommend this boot camp and suggest you stick with it and don't give up. Don't just get a Groupon, use it, and walk away...stick with it and give it a longer term effort. Rock Star Boot Camp will exceed expectations for all fitness levels. Whether you haven't worked out a day in your life and are looking to start, or you've been active and training most of your life, you'll be challenged every day. Curtis is an excellent motivator and he's willing to give you personal instruction on form at any point during the workout. If you are nursing an injury, he'll have a modification for you so you don't have to sit out of any exercise. I've had a lingering wrist issue for the past year and even if I don't ask for it, he'll suggest a way to take strain off my wrist and still get the same results. The other trainers are all more than capable and great motivators as well. If you're looking to change your life, give this place a shot. A $20 Groupon almost three years ago has transformed me into a lean, mean, fighting machine (sorry for the cliche). This same Groupon is almost always available and a month will give you enough insight into what the program is all about. Don't take my word for it...just read all the other positive reviews. Ignore the negative comments though. If you want a personal trainer who does the work for you, this isn't your place. Curtis knows almost everyone by name even with hundreds of regular campers. However, he's there to push you first and be your friend when you're lying on the ground in a flop sweat at the end of a session. I've always been active, but after the birth of my second child I just couldn't find the time to do my typical running and hiking. Honestly, I was getting achy from not doing as much! To get myself back on track I got a Groupon for Rock Star. Although the first week was tough, my body soon acclimated to the challenging workouts, and my aches disappeared! I've been going for over a year and a half now and LOVE it! Every workout is different, and Curtis tells you exactly what to do. There are several different times so I was able to fit it into my schedule. As Curtis, owner, will tell you this is training not exercise. This is a great program. I was horrified to try this and almost didn't go. I'm so happy I did. This is the best workout I have ever done. There is something new everyday and the trainers make it so that you can do it at your level. Don't get me wrong,this isn't easy! However, you can do it! Like many others, I purchased a groupon to attend this bootcamp. What I like is that is a fast paced workout and you dont get too bored because the routine changes as you rotate to different stations. What i dont like (1) location in the back of a parking lot and (2) the number of people in attendance. On the days I was there, there was about 60 people in attendance. You run from station to station and run into people and things in this parking lot. Not even kidding, there are several storage items, random pieces of wood on the ground, mattresses and just about anything just lying around. Accident waiting to happen? The day I was there the instructor was yelling at people for parking in the wrong spots. Man, if I was a regular and paid full price I would feel ripped off. Oh well, glad it was only $20 down the drain! Think twice before spending your money on this one. There are better camps out there. You might pay a bit more but you will get a less crowded more pleasant environment. read more
