I don't live super close, but I try to check on it when I'm around. Someone mentioned several copies of the same record in different parts of the store and different prices. I have noticed that, too, but that is common of many record stores. The new copies will be the same price, but used copies will have different prices depending on the condition. I think the problem might be that the New, Used, and genre sections are not labelled clearly enough and there are many different sections. The first time I actually was able to get in, the store was open and music was playing, but there was no one manning the store. If there was someone there, I didn't see them in the 30 minutes or so I was browsing. I ended up leaving empty handed. They do have a decent collection of records, though. Last time, I was able to find something I had been looking for for years. I'll go back. Hopefully it's open when I do.

The gentleman returned after a short thereafter, as he apparently ran into a frequent customer who came in, and wanted to chat and exchange pleasantries. The gentleman had to instruct the young adult to "play some music", as she literally had zero music. It was quieter than a library. Anywho, once he left she played "music" thru her phone which apparently was a hot commodity as it beeped and interrupted the "music" every 30-45 seconds. There were a few albums we wanted to find and suspected they possibly had but could not. We gave up as we were left alone as the young adult was in the back room doing whatever. I suspect if the older gentleman was still on the clock, he would have assisted us best he could. Needless to say, we tried a newer vinyl store in Dunedin- greeted immediately and ended up walking out almost hours later, spending way more than planned.

Triangle Vinyl is a great place to seek out a couple of records and there is something definitely cool about wandering and just flipping through the records. Maybe it is a sign of getting older when you find yourself yearning for the times that you knew in your yesterdays and you find yourself believing those times were the best. Regardless of it being that I am getting older or whatever the case, I found my time here at Triangle Vinyl made me recall those bygone days. Triangle Vinyl is a fantastic business to head towards and spend a bit of time in there. I will give it five stars overall.

Love the concept of being able to order a drink and sit and listen to music (playing on their speakers - you don't choose it) and just browse records. They have a huge selection of used records, but you definitely have to come with patience to look through every single bin to see if you might find a gem or some thing that you want to add to your collection. I strongly advise against doing business with Sound Exchange…read more I came in with a well-maintained collection of 126 DVDs and Blu-rays -- many unopened, including steelbooks, limited editions, and top titles. I'd just been offered $120 by a local pawn shop and asked if Sound Exchange could do better. The clerk dismissed me immediately, stating, "We typically offer 50 cents to a dollar per Blu-ray," and refused to even glance at the organized digital catalog I offered to share (via CLZ) to save her time. Instead, she insisted I bring in the entire collection, clearly uninterested in helping or making an informed offer. Her attitude felt unwelcoming and uninterested -- like my time and business weren't worth the effort. Ironically, as I left, I saw one of my exact steelbook editions on their shelf priced at $89.99. They offer you pennies, then turn around and mark up massively. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the most dismissive and disappointing retail interactions I've had. It felt like they just didn't want my business. Based on my experience, I do not recommend Sound Exchange to anyone.

I also sold some books/media here and the process felt a bit unorganized, but I got a decent amount of cash for my items. Be prepared that it will take a few hours, even if you get there right at 10am, but you can leave and come back or stay and shop around. They also give both a cash option and a store credit option, with the store credit amount being slightly higher. Overall a nice feature in a great shop!

Definitely have everything a new collector might want but may not have the deep cuts a long-time collector (like me) would be looking to purchase. Prices - a tad high. But I expected that considering I'm in a metropolitan area. Their rent is probably super high, but I don't mind paying an extra $2-3 per book to keep an independent store open. Regarding those deep cuts: - I did find some authors that I think are often overlooked, including Richard K. Morgan, Chuck Tingle, and Ann Leckie. - I was saddened to see that there was no Ronald Malfi in stock, which I find to be a mainstay in horror. - There was no Between the Buried and Me vinyl in stock, which saddens me due to concert tonight (that's why I drove all the way to this coast).
