Brought my car here to have the windshield replaced. The quote was fine and the work was completed…read morein the time they said it would be. The mechanic who met me when I dropped off the keys was helpful and polite. When I arrived to pick up the car and pay, the clerk asked me if I was paying with a credit card, that there would be a fee of $19. I said I had a debit and a credit card, but had I known about the fee, I could have brought a check. I had a relative in the hospital that day and had to get back, so I paid with the credit card. As I gave her the credit card, the "Jim" came in and started aggressively explaining how credit surcharges work, at which time I told him I understand the process, but had I known ahead of time that they were applying it to debit and credit, I could have brought a check. Live and learn, no big deal. They should clarify that debit and check payments do not garner additional fees ahead of time, and I know to ask about it beforehand in the future. After I paid, they couldn't find my key fob, and Jim said it was likely still in the car, which was parked in front of the business at the curb and left unlocked with my belongings in it. This was annoying, but I rationalized to myself that it couldn't have been there long and it was in front of the business. Jim came around the counter to exit the office with me and sort of shuffled around in front of the door. I wasn't sure what he was doing until he asked me, "Are you scared?" I realized he was referring to the mask I was wearing (as stressed at the federal, state, and local levels when in public in this time of Covid-19 and in our area which has been one of the hardest hit in the U.S). Now, this guy wasn't wearing a mask, nor was his office clerk. I personally care for two family members who are in high-risk categories. Suffice it to say, that was strike three. Won't be using them again and certainly won't recommend them to friends, family, or colleagues.

So a car ran a stop sign... wait, no, she said she stopped at the stop sign and I wasn't there so…read moreshe zoomed out and ran into me... who knew my car had the power to materialize out of thin air? And while it was minor accident... no injuries, my airbag didn't deploy, her child was in car seat, thank goodness. My poor car had a jacked bumper, hood, quarter panel & light kit. So I limped home and called my insurance and this location was one of the recommended State Farm body shops. OK. I saw that Harry was a fan and one of my car-guy coworkers likes them too. Sold. Communication was excellent. I dropped my car over the weekend so called them Monday morning. They explained the insurance estimate process to me. And everything went smoothly. Seriously, I emailed them with questions and they answered promptly... I can't even get that sort of response time from other offices, much less a mechanic. The car was ready when they told me and they washed and vacuumed it so it looks great!

Darren knocked out the estimate and Sue was cordial the entire time. I got my appointment and, like a dummy, I brought my vehicle in a week early. Darren said leave it that they might get to it between the other cars. I got it back and the body work looked great. You can't even tell where the damage was done. And the vehicle was washed. I couldn't be happier with the service. If you need body work done on your vehicle, this is the place. Hopefully, I won't need their service again but I won't hesitate to return if needed. Thanks for the great work!

While I wouldn't quite say Collision XPerts is a chop shop, I will tell you that in my opinion they…read moreabsolutely are very shady. Avoid at all costs. My story: It is the law in Louisiana that any vehicle in a wreck is automatically required to be deemed totaled if the estimated cost of repair materials and labor equals or exceeds 75% of the car's Actual Cash Value. Collision XPerts ABSOLUTELY lowballed my estimate to keep it from being deemed totaled. Because of course...if the car is deemed totaled, Collision XPerts loses out on business! Thus, they lowball the estimate AND use cheaper, aftermarket non-factory parts on your car, which can actually void the warranty on many newer cars. I knew my car was going to be totaled, I just needed them to sign off on it. When they lowballed me to keep it under the 75% threshhold, they didn't expect I would have done enough research to know that they were full of shit. When I told them I was having my car towed somewhere more reputable, they tried their best to make that very, very difficult for me and I had to threaten them with legal action to get the keys to my own car back. One other note of concern that anyone consider it should know: this repair shop does not use protective crash wrap on cars, even when the car's damage renders a door or window being cracked open until it's repaired. My car's door couldn't fully close after its accident and it was sitting outside for DAYS, along with every other damaged car, with zero Crash Wrap and a well-publicized tropical storm just dumping buckets of rain into the cars. Will Collision XPerts do a decent enough job on your crappy old Nissan Sentra after it gets in a fender bender? Probably, sure. Go for it. But if you have a more expensive car, or if you're wondering if your car is totaled or not, they absolutely will be shady. And if you call them out on it, they will get more standoffish and try to coerce you out of taking your car elsewhere. Attached is a photo of a car which was just fully getting rained in because its door couldn't close and they don't use Crash Wrap. Avoid this place at all costs. SPECIAL NOTE TO THOSE INSURED WITH PROGRESSIVE: there's a reason that Progressive has Collision XPerts listed as one of their partners, and why they try to steer you to have your car towed here instead of anywhere else: because they know Collision XPerts will lowball your estimate to avoid the car legally being deemed totaled, thus saving Progressive money on your payout. In Louisiana you are legally allowed to have your car towed to ANY repair shop, not just the ones that insurance companies partner with.
