We were on the fence between seasonal rentals, rent to own, or just outright purchasing, and Jonathan explain the math and available equipment for all the scenarios. We started off with an advanced boot fitting, complete with a 3-D foot scan, and then Jonathan whisked out a few different boot options (one for each foot) asking my wife to walk around in them for 5-10 mins each. After going through the exercise a few terms, she zeroed in on a nice pair of Nordicas. From there, we went to the skis, and they were running a great deal on brand new equipment from last season, so we bagged 40% off for Blizzard skis paired with Marker bindings, then grabbed a set of Leki poles to complete the set. Their prices are competitive to begin with, but they do price match in the off chance you find something cheaper that's in stock (same size, year, etc) elsewhere. From start to finish, it was a great experience, and we both learned a lot through all of it...Even got some great tips for layering so don't be surprised if we're back in a week or two for some new base layers! PS, and just as a heads up, they charge you a $50 fee upfront for the advanced boot fitting they do (3D foot scans, etc) but that is applied towards any boot purchase, or if you decide not to get boots, you can still walk away with a $50 gift card to the store to use towards something else, so no matter what, there's no loss. I presume they do that so people don't come in, spend a couple hours of an associate's time, and then not purchase anything, and it makes perfect sense.
