They flat out lied to me about some scrap wood (cracked, warped, split, broken) which they had stacked on a pallet in their rear yard. Via phone, I was told it was free (I was building a couple of garden boxes and didn't want to invest in quality lumber for something about to go in, or on, the ground!). I called again to verify that it was free....great!...I'm on my way! I got to Hartnagel's and found the lumber, and indeed, it was split, warped, cracked, etc., exactly what they told me it was, except now I was told that the three lots (about 12-20 10-14' length boards each of varying size) would be $90 each. I explained what I had been told, and the humorless troll employed by Hartnagel said, and I quote, "It's $90, not free". I could have sworn that he curled his lip and sneered at me, but don't quote me on that.
