Highlights included: * Carving stations with roasted prime rib and pork tenderloin. * Seafood options like chilled shrimp cocktail and salmon. * Sides galore: roasted red potatoes, rice, roasted veggies, green bean casserole, and fresh salads. * A dedicated dessert table loaded with pies and cookies was a definite hit. Stations were well-stocked. The quality was solid fare. Everything was fresh and good, though not Michelin-star gourmet. A few items (like the overcooked Brussels sprouts) were hit-or-miss, but overall satisfying. Service was attentive and friendly; servers kept water glasses filled. I was doing much better after just one lesson, but even better after the second, and now after my third, I really feel confident I can do this! Explaining why know I can do this! I can't explain why or how... but his determination and confidence in what I can do made me believe I could too. He made changes to my stance and grip and showed me why and how the small adjustments make a big difference . My only regret is not reaching out to him sooner and instead spending the last year and a half on YouTube videos, endless hours at the range on my own and multiple rounds just getting more frustrated. I figured I should get fitted for clubs and then try a golf lesson. I found JPK golf instruction here on yelp, read the great reviews and decided to book a half hour lesson. I am so thankful I decided to do this. John was friendly, took the time to ask me about my goals, about my game, any injuries, my best club vs. worst club and even spent the time to review the data from a Ping club fitting session that I had just gone through earlier in the day. He then had me do some warm-up swings and took some video which we reviewed together as he pointed out what I was doing well and what needed fixing. He gave me three things to change/work on and before the half hour was done I was hitting the ball better than I ever have. I could not believe it. It felt so good to actually hit the ball down the middle of the fairway! hah hah! After I left I was hoping that what he thad taught me would stick - and apparently it has. Friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and has a great sense of humor - thank goodness he has all of these for the 3 ring circus that rolled in the day of the shower! In our initial meeting he pulled info from us, that we hadn't even really thought about, and executed those ideas beautifully. I was so happy to see the baby blue and pastel yellow napkins and table runner (It's a boy!). It was cute and classy at the same time. Russell had decided to move us to another room within the facility, and we did not expect it and were speechless when we saw it. He told me we'd be more comfortable in the larger room (We'd had a bigger number than we'd originally thought.), and I thought that was just really nice of him to think of the customer that way. We chose a lunch buffet that was delicious and not so heavy. It's super hot here, and I don't think anyone wants to have a huge lunch. My mom & I had made all the desserts, but all of my serving pieces were in storage. Russell and crew took care of that! They made my desserts look so pretty I almost didn't believe that I had made them! I had also opted for the chocolate fountain because -pregnant lady! Speaking of the staff. My gosh, they were so nice!! So polite, but smiling and laughing with us. It just makes the event even better, more joyful somehow. I hope they had fun with us too and don't think we're nuts! The venue is GORGEOUS! It was a house that was converted into the event property, and it's really cool because there's homey touches here and there. I had my wedding reception here, and my daughter had her prom here. After our experience here, I will not go anywhere else for event planning.
