What I love most is not everything went as planned but any issues and concerns were addressed and corrected. The carpet in our son's room was stained. The plastic tore and construction dust and feet stained it. Scott had it cleaned and it didn't come up so they had it replaced. No arguments from them. They are not the cheapest, but they justify their price with their work. My wife and I are extremely happy with Unique and will use them again if we have any other home remodeling needs.

When I declined to continue with a project with Brandon, the company inflated charges to consume the majority of the deposit that I paid them. No physical work was ever performed yet they charged $175 per hour in labor for sending one email to my insurance carrier asking why Xactimate charges were not accepted. They then charged $125 for two Xactimate reports: along with the labor to produce the reports. Very unethical. The owner Darryl stated that they are not in the business of assisting clients in getting work done elsewhere and proceeded to do with my deposit whatever he saw fit for his pockets. I would advise not to use ths company, but if you do.... DO NOT PAY DEPOSIT BY CHECK! They will tell you that to use a credit card the fee is a high percent however, I found, that they do this to keep your deposit because if you pay by check you will have no ally with the bank to dispute funds as you would with a credit card. I would have paid a set fee for an Xactimate with any other company from $60 - $100 with no hourly rate attached. They literally assumed my deposit by charging me for two reports and labor of $175 per hour, which they say was over 3 hours to generate the report.... I guess the paper for the report is $125 and the labor is $175 per hour forover 3 hours for a 3 page report. So unethical. Very bad business practices. The contract states the deposit is refundable if services are not rendered but that is false. I understand taking a flat fee for Xactimates but Darryl went overboard to assume as much of the deposit as possible... Please do your homework on multiple companies... I would not recommend Unique Builders.

I had to chase them for status and follow-up. The project took 4 months to complete with workers at my home less than 1/3 of the time. Work quality was poor and I had to QA the work. Agreed to rework was not completed. I contacted K&HD and informed them that I would have the balance work completed by others after giving them over 4 months to finish. Needless to say, I did not agree to pay for unfinished work. After expressing my discontent, KH&D sent me an invoice with outrageous costs for "changes" that they failed to communicate/get approval of in advance. They have failed to send anyone or communicate with me to rectify the situation other than the project manager who was originally assigned the work. My original intent was for K&HD to complete the balance of my remodel; however that plan changed when they failed to perform satisfactorily. I am very disappointed as I had high hopes for K&HD originally.

Being as OCD and detail-oriented as I am, I appreciated that he took the time to explain everything, no matter how small. From types of schluters that should go around tile to the colors/textures of caulking to match grout, I learned a lot and was appreciative he took the time to explain it. Henry was there almost every day, making sure his crew got everything correct. Even if it requires them to start over. No cutting corners or rushing to finish. It was truly a professional job. I stumbled upon the Dust Ram removal system and knew this was the route I wanted use when we began our renovation. There are a few companies in Houston that offer this system and Cutting Edge was the first AND ONLY company we called. During my initial call, I was informed of the approximate removal costs per sq. ft. depending on the material. I asked if they would send someone out to do the measurements and they said they charge $150 for this service so we decided to measure ourselves. NBD. On a follow up call, I talked to a guy for over an HOUR, chatting like we were BFFs for 20 years (wish I could recall his name... I'm writing this a month or so later. I want to say it started with a B.). This made me feel like I wasn't "just a number." He was able to answer all my questions and then some. EVERYONE I spoke with/interacted with at this company were highly professional. The fee we were quoted was LESS than we expected. (Though we didn't know what to even expect... we though high because everything seems high these days.) We had both hardwood and tile removal. On the day of removal, the company came on time and were very professional. The lead guy, Austin, was great. Everything was answered with a "Yes ma'am, no ma'am." (Am I old enough to be a Ma'am?!?!?!) Anyways, My husband and I both left the house while they worked. I want to say the removal took about 6 hours??? When we returned, we were blown away by how great everything looked! We joked the house looked better with bare concrete than the ugly beige tile and dated hardwood entry way. Although not 100% dust free, this was about 99% dust free. Waaaaaay better than the alternative!!! We definitely recommend this tile removal company!

Heard about roof washing which sounded odd but makes sense for tile roofs since I practically pressure wash our driveway and decks annually. Checked around and Tile Roofs of Texas had some good ratings. Got a proposal and it took some time to sort out a good date due to some scheduling issues and weather but they made the 2nd date decided upon. Crew was fantastic and was very mindful of the mess and even covered my pool with plastic. Did a great job and cleaned up well. My Roof looks brand new now. They even discovered some cracked tiles. Luckily I had original tiles in my attic from construction. Very satisfied.

My wife and I just bought the home in 2023, and we're devastated as we watched everything get demolished and removed. We spent a lot of time looking at reviews online and selected 3 companies to come provide a quote. Miguel (the owner) immediately stood out from the others from the quality of his online reviews. We scheduled an appointment for him to come review the house and provide a quote. He arrived when he said he would arrive and was extremely thorough during his walkthrough of the house. He answered all of our questions (we had a lot) and consistently focused on "what do you actually want." He was the only contractor who wasn't focused on just rebuilding what was lost. He consistently stated that this is our chance to do things we wanted and provided insightful options. The total cost quoted was extremely competitive compared to the others, even with upgrades selected. He also stated that he would help with the insurance company and work with me while I dealt with them on payment. Little did my wife and I know at the time, but we made the absolute best decision that day. Miguel's crew began work immediately. As they worked through the house, they didn't just focus on the contract. They consistently went above and beyond in calling out issues with my house. Our home was built in 1973 and had poor quality remodels through the years. There were fire hazards with electrical work, rotting wood in my walls, and the support beams weren't properly bolted to my foundation. When they got to the flooring, my house was extremely uneven (which we knew because my son's balls would roll to the wall). They took the time to level out my floor before putting down the new flooring. Most companies would just hide these items and cover them up, sticking to the contract. Not here. They called them out one by one and provided solutions to build everything back correctly. This was such a huge blessing and shows that Miguel and team focus on quality. They consistently went above and beyond. Focusing on the little details (light switches and ceiling light placement) as much as the major items. During the remodeling process, his crew cleaned up every single day. They swept the house, took out trash, and never left a mess. On top of the quality work which you can see below. The items the really stood out to me are the following. Miguel always responded to phone calls, texts, and consistently showed up to the house to walk through the property with me. I always felt like I had a voice. There were a couple items that were completed, and I wanted to change slightly. Miguel took the time to understand our asks and never pushed back or complained around rework. He consistently focused on his original comments around "exactly what we want." He worked with me on payments when the insurance company was slow to payout and the bank held my funds in escrow, as promised. His promises around working with the insurance company also came through. He showed through actions, that he is a man of integrity and consistently delivered to those promises. We feel extremely blessed and would recommend this company to friends, family, and utilize them again in the future. What was a disaster has become a blessing. We have a brand-new home, completed timely, for a very reasonable price. We are over the moon to move home and can't stop talking about how beautiful our home is, far exceeding expectations.
