She is also my dentist, and having visited many other local dentists through the years before her, I know from experience how better off I am for finding this treasure in Walkersville. I have recommended her to many family and friends over time without complaint.

If you ever have a dental emergency while visiting the Gettysburg area and need prompt dental care,…read moredon't hesitate to contact Gettysburg Dental Associates. After chipping my tooth on Thursday evening I contacted the dental office on Friday morning and was able to get an appointment early that very day. Gettysburg Dental Associates was professional and courteous from the time I called the office to the completion of my tooth repair. I would like to express my gratitude to Dr Seidel and his dental care team of Mckinlee, Katelyn, Amanda, and the whole office staff.  They provided outstanding and stellar patient care. I highly recommend Gettysburg Dental Associates.

There is no clear verbal explanation of potential fees. I had to cancel two appointments for legitimate reasons. Both times, I called the morning of the appointment and was told it was "fine." At no point during either call was I informed that I would be charged a fee. When I later rescheduled, I was hit with a $70 "rescheduling fee" -- $35 for each cancellation. This was never mentioned when I called. Transparency matters, and this felt deceptive. To make matters worse, on the day of my most recent appointment, the office cancelled on me. Did I receive a credit? A refund? An apology paired with policy consistency? No. Apparently the fee policy only applies one way. Policies are understandable. Lack of transparency and double standards are not. After this appointment, I will be finding a new dental provider -- one that prioritizes patient communication, fairness, and mutual respect over rigid policies and revenue protection. If you're considering this office, make sure you ask very specific questions about their cancellation policy -- and get everything clarified upfront.

I called and the recorded message gave Dr. Skvorak's personal number to call during an emergency. Unfortunately, we had to wake him up but he assured us that it would be okay to wait until the next morning to make an appointment. Today we arrived at the office. We had to explain our complicated situation. We temporarily moved out to Maryland from Chicago to take care of my sick father (he has brain cancer) and then to move the whole family out from Maryland to California by the end of this week, so we are only in the area for a few more days. To make things worse, we don't have any dental insurance they could accept (out of state HMO). Noreen, who was at the front desk was so polite and welcoming from the moment we walked in, and she let us know we'd work something out with billing after the appointment. The dental hygienist, Jess, was very patient and willing to answer all of our questions. Dr. Skvorak was understanding, very informative, and straight to the point. He let us know step by step what my husband would go through with a dentist once he gets to California. He let us know it was extremely important to get this taken care of as soon as we have a chance and it would be best to stick with the same dentist throughout the whole process (which would require multiple appointments for cleaning procedures and follow-ups). After the appointment, we went up to the front desk. We were told that this would be a courtesy appointment... I was speechless, and then, I hate to admit, I started to cry! With everything going on with my father's decline in health and having to figure out this move across the country, and then this unexpected dental situation, this was one the most helpful and kindest things anyone, including medical professionals, has done for us. I am amazed that a dentist and his staff would be willing to see a patient who could not promise to come back for follow up appointments and be this kind. If I were to stay here in Maryland, I would drive from Rockville to Frederick just to see Dr. Skvorak again. I highly, highly recommend this practice. Thank you Dr. Skvorak and staff. You have touched my heart more than you'll ever know.

Their sign on the entrance door says, "WE CATER TO COWARDS!" Well that's ME! A really bad childhood dental experience made me really leary about dental work altogether. FDG offers a variety of dental services, including sedation dentistry (hence the "cater to cowards" slogan). Of course they accept insurance, cash and/or credit, but has also teamed up with Cherry, a financing company that may finance your services (if approved). This review is based on the initial response I received to a detailed inquiry I made to the office…read moreabout becoming a new patient (and not about any dental treatment, which I have never received). I feel that two stars is merited because Dr. LeMonnier's office at least did the bare minimum: contact me promptly via email. I was disappointed by the response I received to a message I sent to Dr. LeMonnier's office via his website for the following reasons: (1) Only one of the three questions/concerns I asked was addressed, and the response ONLY focused on the payment process since I was going to be out of network. However, being out of network is not that important to me: my last dentist was out of network but I choose her due to (a) a positive, helpful, and caring first response to my initial inquiry, and (b) the excellent dental services I received from her over the course of several years. (2) The response I received did not begin with "Thank you for contacting us..." or anything resembling basic professional courtesy. It just jumped into the fact that I would be out of network and therefore responsible for paying before I left each treatment. This displayed a basic lack of customer service and suggested to me that either (a) this office doesn't need new patients or (b) doesn't want to deal with patients who are out of network (but once again, paying my bills is not an issue--this could have been resolved by calling me.) (3) The message ended by asking if I still wanted to schedule an appointment, without bothering to address the other concerns I had. Either the person didn't read my message or didn't want to waste her time with me since I was out of network. (4) There was no follow up phone call, even though I gave my phone number. (Why have phone number as a required field in the Contact message form if you aren't going to use that number to call?) I was disappointed by this response because I had researched over 10 dentists in Frederick and had decided on Dr. LeMonnier due to his years of public service and volunteer work. The descriptions of the staff are also impressive, but I know wonder how accurate there are. As there are many other dentists in this area, I will continue my search.
