I wrote a review several years ago about this place when it was still Rite Aid. I wasn't a regular…read morepatron by any means, but I wrote that my old friend brought me here to show me how his phone was also his camera and that this was the "new normal" for photography. I was very impressed by the photos he took, how you no longer had to bother with F-stops and aperture speeds (which I never quite figured out anyway) or tripods, how you could obtain a perfect photo with very little skill or knowledge, for very little money. When my old flip-phone broke, I invested in the "new" technology (which wasn't so new by the time I got to it) and bought a phone/camera from T-Mobile (which I also wrote about), and I've been happy with it ever since. Since then, this is where I've come to develop those photos I take. Parking usually isn't a problem. I walk in and over to the photo kiosk, hook my phone up to their computer, pick the photos I want to print, and wait about 10-15 minutes while they print them. During those 10-15 minutes, I wander about the spacious store and sometimes buy additional items I might need (Unisom, Pepto Bismol, popcorn, chocolate candy, cold-and-flu medication, paper towels, etc.). The magazines and books they stock are overpriced ($11 and $12-plus for a PAPERBACK!?! No thanks) and uninteresting. By the time I've perused anything that's of even moderate interest or applicability to me, the photos are ready. I get in line at the check-out counter (which usually moves with relative speed, although there are instances where it backs up substantially, depending on who is manning the cash register). But this last time was a little different. A brief note about Covid-- I started getting vaccinations as soon as they were available. I still ended up getting Covid, but it wasn't too bad (shivers and chills in June, a dry cough, not feeling up to much physical activity). A few years ago, when I went to get the vaccination, I asked how long before I got the next one (I was used to every 5 to 6 months). The guy administering the shot shrugged and said, "Come back in about a year." At that point, I figured Covid wasn't such a substantive issue anymore, and I stopped getting vaccinated. Bad move. This past winter, I caught Covid, and it was bad. I lost my sense of taste and smell (bad enough), plus I felt like death warmed over. I felt horrible. Once I got over it, I decided I was going to resume the regular vaccinations. I was told I should wait about 4 months from the time I had Covid. In Walgreens, even though I hadn't specifically come in to get vaccinated, I decided to use my spare time while waiting for my photos to get printed to inquire about vaccines. At the pharmacy counter, they asked when I had had Covid, counted off the months since then, and told me I could get a vaccine in about 10 minutes. I was taken to a side room, asked a few questions, signed a paper, and prepared for the shot. Unlike previous vaccinations, it didn't feel like someone had punched me in the arm...hard!...and I didn't spend the rest of the day feeling blah. I was told to return for another vaccination in 6 months. That date is marked on my calendar. There are differences in Walgreens. The one in the Lyons Mall in Basking Ridge is where I get my prescription medications and it's smaller, and the photo kiosk there looks like it hasn't been used in years. This Walgreens in Bernardsville is big, well stocked with pretty much everything you need in terms of over-the-counter medications and a miscellanea of foodstuffs and household items. But you can do walk-in Covid vaccinations now; no more headaches of having to sign up for them on-line (I can remember when Covid 1st started and waiting 2 hours on the computer to make an appointment, only to be thrown off at the last minute). I also remember a few years ago getting a Covid test administered here at the drive-up window and presumably that service is still being offered, although you might have to make an appointment still for that. So...why not a rating of 5 stars? Parking isn't a problem, my photos get developed without complications for not much money, I can pick up pills or potions without too much trouble, and I was able to cross off the "get the Covid vaccination ASAP" on my to-do list without any headaches or hiccups in the process of doing it. Service is usually friendly and efficient. I still intend to keep getting my prescription medications at the Basking Ridge location because it's closer to me and so more convenient to get to, and I've been using it for decades at this point, so on that basis I'm going to leave well enough alone-- at least as regards prescription medications. But I can also endorse the Bernardsville location without any reservations. They haven't let me down yet whenever I've gone there for anything. And I can't say that about every Walgreens location (if interested, check out my negative review for the one in Stirling). Recommended.

They made me laugh harder than I've ever laughed before and are extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you both so much for your help! I also would like to say the people who work the later shifts are equally as wonderful- whenever I come in to get a snack or supplies they always brighten my day. This is the best walgreens ever because of the people who work there. COME HERE IF YOU WANT AMAZING SERVICE AND EVEN BETTER PASSPORT PHOTOS!!!!!

I've been aware of Weis Markets-- usually located in the border area of northern NJ/NY state, or…read moresome rural areas of PA that I've occasionally passed through-- for several years. Never had a reason to shop there until recently, motivated as much by curiosity as anything else. In terms of food shopping, these days I alternate between the ShopRite in Stirling, and the ShopRite in Branchburg. With no money in my pocket, I stopped at the ATM alongside the Branchburg ShopRite recently, only to find it inoperative. I started driving in the direction of the ShopRite in Mansfield, as Stirling was that much further in the opposite direction, only to remember that you needed a quarter in order to utilize a shopping cart at Mansfield and realized that I didn't even have that on my person. So I altered direction towards Chester, only to remember that the ShopRite in Chester (at least in my memory of the few times I patronized it) was more expensive than the norm. Then I remembered there was a ShopRite up the road in Flanders, as well as a Wells Fargo with an ATM. So, given that I was already traveling that way anyway, I decided on the ShopRite in Flanders (which I patronized once or twice years ago). At the ATM (which, thankfully, was operative), I saw the Weis Market across the street and decided somewhat spontaneously that maybe now was the time to give them a try. There was enough parking in the lot, although a young couple parked in front of me, both wearing knee-length shorts and knee-high socks, were staring somewhat fixedly at me. Given an occasional predisposition to paranoia in the past on my part, I tried to put it out of my mind, grabbed a cart, and went inside. I always buy pre-prepared salads, but what I saw available at Weis wasn't exactly appealing. White iceberg lettuce, a jumble of cheese, croutons and some sort of anemic-looking berries. Hard pass. Looking up, I noticed the female half of the "Hills Have Eyes" couple outside now standing nearby, again staring fixedly at me. Disconcerted, I grabbed a package of pre-prepared sushi (which I never eat) and moved my cart onward. In terms of canned and/or pre-packaged items, I found pretty much what I needed. Vegetables, soup, Pepperidge Farm bread, even a package of Tyson stuffed chicken breasts. A package of Kraft mac'n'cheese. Soda. Bottled water. As I moved down the aisle, I saw the male half of the "Hills Have Eyes" couple staring hard at me. In the past, when I was younger and healthier, I might have succumbed to the lure of this juvenile nonsense and engaged him in a staring contest. The thought occurred to me that they might have thought I was initially staring at them because they were an inter-racial couple, and I know from inter-racial couple friends of mine that being an inter-racial couple isn't always the easiest thing to be these days (or any days). I wanted to tell him that what had attracted my attention hadn't been race but rather the matching shorts and socks. The Tweedle-Dee/Tweedle-Dum sartorial effect had been kinda cute. But I didn't. I turned away and went down another aisle. At the checkout counter, service was apathetic, but I'm not as hypersensitive to that as I used to be. I bagged my own groceries. Prices seemed reasonable enough, but I didn't spend as much as I normally would have. Normally, I would have bought coffee and fresh fruit, and I didn't this time. In the parking lot, I was grateful to see that the hard-staring couple had departed. I had been halfway bracing myself for some sort of confrontation. Back home, I tossed the sushi after 1 bite, as the texture seemed offputtingly gummy (in fairness, I'm not a fan of any kind of sushi-- I like my fish cooked, fully, thank you). Was there anything that stood out in a positive way? Yeah, as a matter of fact. I bought a packaged slice of cheesecake from the bakery department. Wasn't expecting too much, but it was creamy and delicious. I found myself wishing I had bought another slice, or more. I also bought a "shoo-fly" pie out of curiosity. I've had it before, but it's been many years (I bought a slice or 2 a few times at a long-defunct Amish market in Hillsborough), and I wasn't really all that much of a fan of it even back then. This time? I thought it was wonderful, rich and moist and fresh. I had gone through the entire pie in just a few days time. I also bought pre-packaged Weis brand "Amish" potato salad and seafood salad. The potato salad was bland, but the seafood salad was very enjoyable. I might try Weis again at some point, even if only for the cheesecake and the "shoo-fly" pie. In all fairness, it probably won't replace my Stirling/Branchburg/ShopRite food shopping excursions, but I don't think Weis would be a bad choice if I happen to be in the area again any time soon. I won't be buying "green" salads or sushi, but their baked goods are outstanding. Just hoping I don't encounter any Wes Craven movie extras in the parking lot next time!

This is a pretty solid supermarket with a good layout to it as are most of the Weis Markets. I…read morerecently made the trek out this way on a recon mission looking for the basics which now have become anything but "basic" necessities. Long story short, they did have a decent amount of meat, iced teas, cookies, and produce but as you would expect, toilet paper and bottled water were long gone. Note; I will in-no-way be holding any of this against the store and I still feel that this is a very good place to get your grocery shopping done. They have a good amount of automated check out lines here so I was able keep to myself the entire time. We can all get through this together by remaining apart. Bill Out. Peace.
