the doctor and the staff at the office were great but got my glasses today tried to joke with the woman where they fit the glasse and she coped an attitude i was supposed to set up four appointments for the rest of family to see them she cost them over a $1,000 dollars so good job I will never go back there again because of her attitude and I will never recommend y'all because of her read more

After the disappointing news that the next available appointment would be in three months (got us in with a cancellation in two) I spoke at length with the young lady who answered the phone. I explained that that my shut-in mother (91) would be extremely difficult to bring to their office. I further explained that with the threat of Covid and her susceptibility at her age was a dire concern. She assured me all Covid protocols would be observed, and that the office REQUIRED masks and that there was no admittance without one. After our arrival I noticed a couple just came right in, up to the desk and sat down without masks. Then another lady walked across the lobby to the rest room with a condescending smile on her face. Wish I was God and knew all things! But allow me to back up a bit. When I was on the initial phone call with the young girl, I explained our situation. I told her that despite the fact that mom was diagnosed 15 years prior with cataracts, at 91 she did not wish to have the surgery. I explained that the previous doctor told her that without the surgery they could not prescribe new glasses. This met with no objections or concerns from this lady. I THEN WENT ON TO TELL HER THAT HER FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD GLASSES WERE FALLING APART AND THAT THIS WAS THE SOLE PURPOSE FOR OUR VISIT. AGAIN, NO OBJECTIONS OR CONCERNS! When we arrived (a 60-mile trip) and after waiting for nearly an hour, we went into a lady that told us forthwith that this was not for glasses. I was speechless. Needless to say, we departed immediately! Later I wondered, why was this the first thing out of this lady's mouth? Hmmm! So, I'm wondering if these girls are trained specifically to bring the in the herd and let the chips fall where they may. Mom just wanted to do what they wanted her to, and I wonder just how many of their customers have been lassoed into the same boat. Or shall I say SHANGHAIED! Sorry for the long windedness, but here's my point: I believe we need at least one more Ophthalmologist in Shawnee. And let the chips fall where they may! Dan B. read more

Do not take a child with special needs to see Bryan Johnson. My child saw him a year ago and he was extremely unprofessional with him. My child has a neurological disease that is beyond any fault of his or my own. This causes him to be fidgety and go off topic at points. This 'doctor' had no ability to understand this then wanted a lengthy explanation of his diagnosis from me. I had given all this information prior and if this 'doctor' was better prepared I would not have needed to go through an emotional explanation of my child's devastating diagnosis and absolutely refused to do so. If this was the fault of the staff who took our appointment call he still could have handled the entire thing so much better. In the end I left feeling as though he had treated my child more like an annoyance and then me as a teacher. Extremely unprofessional, unprepared, and socially unaware of mine or my child's discomfort. I can't believe they actually had the nerve to send me an appointment reminder, automated or not. read more

I love this place! I bought 3 pair of glasses there . $ 1,600.00 worth and got into trouble with the husband and on and on. The top of the line progressive lenses with the best Anti Reflective coating you can get. So one pair of them I ran over and ruined but I still have the frame and the broken lenses. I just called to see if I was still under warranty and they told me that their warranty only covers manufacturer defects. I have worked in the optical industry for 35 years off and on and we always replaced our glasses under warranty. Seminole Vision Center and Eyemart Express are two of the places I have worked for years. So I was shocked when I got the news today that the frame company only replaces if it's a manufacturer defect. Frame companies give a two year warranty but we only gave the patient a year along with our labs always gave a year warranty on breakage - prescription change- scratches ect . Dunlaw labs and Duffins are major lens companies and I know the owners and employees on a first name basis. So here's the deal. I just was told a lie by these people and they are not going to replace my glasses even though it doesn't cost them a penny. So I'm not going back . They lied to the wrong person. I have never written a review on a place but I don't like being lied to. read more

I'm an 80+ years old man and am not flush with cash. I went to this business for an eye exam and eye glass prescription which Medicare paid for. The doctor was very friendly and explained the procedure well and wrote out the prescription and gave it to the receptionist. The doctor stayed at the counter with me and offered to show me frames for my new glasses. I told the doctor that I was not interested in purchasing glasses at this time, that all I wanted was my prescription and that I would have it filled later. The doctor then looked at the receptionist and asked her for the prescription back - that he had forgot to add something to the prescription - he proceeded to write a new prescription and gave the new one to me. He was still very friendly and patted me on the back as I walked out the door. I later had the prescription filled in Oklahoma City for a fraction of the cost this business charges. When I received my new eyeglasses I noticed right away that the left lens was blurred and out of focus - making it impossible to read well with them. I told the person who fitted me with the glasses that they were blurred and out of focus and she took them back and had the glasses checked against the prescription I gave her. After checking, she said that the glasses fit the prescription but that they would make me a new pair to be safe. The new glasses were also blurred and out of focus. So I was stuck with a pair of out of focus glasses as I could not afford doing this all over again - and two, medicare would not pay for a new prescription. I can only assume that this business changed my prescription because I did not purchase my glasses there. read more

This was my first time to go there but not my last. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the experience. From the receptionist and the lady who took me back for some preliminary test to the doctor, each one was friendly and very professional. But the lady who impressed me the most was Kaylee Judd who helped me pick out my glasses and got them on order for me. That gal is SHARP and really knows her business. She made picking out my glasses actually a fun experience. I highly recommend this place. read more

Office staff is terrible. Called to schedule appointment and was told they would file my insurance even though it was out of network. I was given the price for private pay on the exam. I ask for the new patient paperwork to be mailed to me because I'm autistic and it is difficult for me to fill out in the office. They stated that they don't do that. This is a violation of ADA, but they don't care apparently. Arrived for my appointment to be told we don't take that insurance, we won't file on out of network, we never told you we would. Found out the price of the exam was also wrong. Business manager defended her staff stateing they all know better than to tell anyone we will file out of network. No apologies offered. One star for the optometrist - he was the only good thing about this appointment. read more
