It seems somewhat rare to find a doctor that really cares. Dr. Dore is kind, professional, caring, approachable and patient. She never seems rushed, even though she might have a patient in each examination room. She cares about her patients and spends as much time as needed. I first went to her upon the recommendation of one of my doctors. After a few blood tests, she determined my "health problem", put me on medication and I'm on the road to recovery. I went to Dr. Dore from 1997- 2004, she was good at first but over the years she seemed really stressed out! She became mean & nasty. She actually yelled at me & I never went back. Don't know why I paid her that last time, I was a cash paying patient. $150 every time. Here's a little background, didn't want to write all this, but I feel as though I was mistreated & probably should have sued. There aren't enough RA doctors. So I was so happy to find one. Typical appointment went pretty fast which is fine, & she would always give me samples of medication's because I did not have insurance, which I appreciated. So in 2000 I became pregnant with my son ( miracle child) I had to stop all my medication, it was interesting though I didn't have pain during the pregnancy. I took Tylenol when I needed it. So when he was about three months old, I had a major crash in my condition I could not even get out of bed. My husband had to miss work to take care of me . I contacted Dr. Dore s office and explained what was going on, asked if they could squeeze me in today, they told me they could not. They should've called a prescription in for me, I didn't know to ask. She did see me the next day, but I could barely walk. She told me that this is what happens after you give birth, I wish she would've told me that when I saw her the last time. So I got a prednisone pack, which really helped and back on medication. I had to stop breast-feeding, which I did not want to do so early. When I brought my son with me on my next appointment, she did not even acknowledge that he was there. It was really weird and rude. No one at the office said anything, as if he wasn't even there. Things seemed OK for a while but then I had to take care of my elderly father and move him in with us so I was taking care of three children and my dad and helping my husband with his business. I would miss my RA appointment sometimes. So my condition was getting worse and I think that frustrated Dr. Dore because I was not coming in. I don't think she realized what was going on and I guess I should've told her but she seemed really annoyed with me. So my last appointment happened to be on the day of my best friends mom funeral, which I missed to be at my appointment. That's when she snapped, I told her my elbow is really hurting & swollen, & I said I hope I don't need surgery on it. I guess I shouldn't jump to conclusions, i just was feeling desperate from the pain & none of the medications were helpful. (I did end up need surgery a year later) Her reaction was startling, she yelled " that's just stupid!" I was in such shock. I don't even know what I said, but I just remember leaving and paying my bill. I've never went back. I think she might've been losing patients or maybe she got sued is why she has all the good reviews now she's changed her ways. I she she's moved the office to a nice one, the old one was terrible, the entrance door was so hard to open. One good point her husband who I didn't know was her husband Cliff was always really nice and sometimes I would have to bring my kids in with me and he would keep them busy with color books. I don't like to be a negative person, but I feel like I had to get this off my chest after all these years. It made dealing with RA even more stressful. read more

Dr Dore gave me my life back. I had been going to a different Rheumatologist for 3 years and he was t doing anything for me. I felt so sick all the time and had to stop working. Dr Dore is THE BEST. She brought me back to life. Before her I was home bound, suffering in pain and severe flu like symptoms for years. No other doctor could seem to diagnose and treat me adequately. I was in my early 30s and hopeless. Dr Dore immediately knew what was wrong and how to treat my illness. While i still live with lupus, i am able to manage it better and have a somewhat "normal" life because of her. But more importantly for this review... Extremely knowledgeable, equally kind and attentive. VERY Consistent in her care and treatment. Her and her staff are impeccably organized and committed to the care of her patients. Having lupus there are often new symptoms and flare ups. She is available to answer questions and understands the emotional toll a chronic illness has a person. She patiently deals with my anxiety when it comes to my illness and does everything in her power to help treat my symptoms. I have NEVER felt rushed while in an apt with her. She sees patients on weekends as she strives to truly help people who are suffering. It's been almost ten years since I was first seen by her. Every day I write down what I'm grateful for in spite of living with the horrible disease of lupus. And EVERY DAY Dr Dore is on my gratitude list. Dr. Dore is the best! I was recommended to her from my other doctor for osteoporosis. I've been to other rheumatologists for other issues but Dr. Dore is straight forward and sharp. She really knows her stuff. I read her bio and decided to go to her even though she would out of network for me. I have never done that for any doctor. I felt she would give me the best care. She takes time to listen to you and to work with other doctors to coordinate care. She really cares about you. The portal is really nice and easy to use. Her response is very timely and I'm so glad she is my rheumatologist. When you call the office, most of the time they don't pick up. But if you leave a message, the staff will call back. The office may request your paperwork upfront before the appointment is made which actually is really good. She has the time to evaluate the paperwork before seeing you. Very efficient on her end. She has a no fragrance policy which didn't bother me. Excellent doctor! read more

Getting into Dr. Dore was the most difficult part of my experience with her office. It's almost like a screening process. I had to wait to see if she would accept me as her patient after being referred to her. Of course I hung up the phone frustrated and afraid because I was pretty sick and no one knew what to do with me. To my surprise and her credit I received a phone call within 24 hours telling me she would see me. I think she maybe reviews a patients file before committing to the patient? Not really sure, but glad I waited an extra day. Dr. Dore is meticulous as much as she is articulate. I was sent to her by my general practitioner after testing positive for autoimmune. She not only listened and was very thorough in her approach to my problem, she found what most internists may not have found. She tested for a gene that many doctors don't check women for. 90% of the time it is men who have the gene that goes along with a rheumatoid/autoimmune disease I had never even heard of before (Ankylosing Spondylitis). She is treating me for it now and although results are slow going I'm gaining health NOT losing it. Although I'm only in the beginning stages of receiving her help, I think we're on the right track with her. If you want an internist/rheumatologist who searches out the root cause of your issue she's the one. She also has email set up for her patients, therefore I can write my questions and concerns to her with not only a timely response but it's her who writes back. I wish every doctor had this feature as it streamlines the process of getting a hold of them. My daughter is now going through testing for the same disease and I wouldn't hesitate having Dr. Dore treat her. read more

I absolutely love love Dr. Dore and her staff. I've been going to her for close to 20 years. I have hashimoto's thyroiditis, osteoarthritis, arthritis and fybromyalsia. I can't tell you how many times I've just been in so much pain that I could call and get in to see her. She is so in tune to the problems these issues can cause. I just visited Dr. Dore's office for the first time. She was efficient without being rushed, informative without being patronizing, and was generally a delight to be around. She assured me there are things we can do to help my aching joints once we figure out what is (or is not) the problem with some simple tests. Her office was also very nice and clear without feeling cold and clinical. Comfy chairs abound. NOTE -- you CANNOT visit her office wearing perfume, cologne, scented whatever. This is a doctor's office. Save that stuff for date night. If this policy seems weird, just ask for an explanation why she has it and you'll get a good one. read more

I was referred to this "Doctor" by my Endocrinologist, I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and was diagnosed when I was 8. For the past month I have had the worst joint pain and swollen joints in my life. My Endo said I might have a related autoimmune disease and wanted me to be seen by this doctor. Upon calling I found out *rudely* that this doctor WILL NOT TAKE ME BECAUSE I AM 19. She has this special rule that she WILL NOT TAKE PEOPLE UNDER 21. There is no special reason. As both me and my mother were told in a rude and condescending way "it's just a policy". I have never experienced a specialist that will refuse someone due to their age, as if people under 21 cannot develop Sjögrens or Lupus. I will now be going to see a specialist in Boston where Doctors actually give a shit. read more

My internist in NB recommended Dr. Dore for my 46 years old daughter who has RA. For 18 months no help from RA meds; they only make her sicker. My Internist calls evenings and weekends; he will see anyone and work out payments. He is a REAL DOCTOR. On the other hand, Dr. Doctor does not accept HMO or PPO; only Blue Shield and Medi-cal. Cash pay is $350-450 first visit. WOW! GREED GREED GREED. She does not concern herself with those who could possible find relief from the 24 hour pain they suffer simply by her sharing her knowledge as an expert. Dr. Dore you have forgotten the Code of Ethics for Doctors. Adopted by the Representative Body in 1961 and subsequently amended, most recently in 2015. A doctor shall protect human health. ... A doctor shall base his/her practice on respect for fundamental human rights, and on truth and justice in relations with patients and to society. YOU HAVE FAILED. Clearly patient care is your second priority and that comes with concrete conditions. Your first priority is MONEY. You are a disappointment to me and my suffering daughter. You are officially part of this screwed up society self-serving society. You should be ashamed. read more

I finally found Dr. Dore after bouncing from doctor to doctor and not getting any answers. She diagnosed me with non-radiograohic axial spindyloarthritis. She is incredibly smart, informed, sharp, informative, helpful and thorough. I've been treating with her for about 6 months and I have already seen a drastic difference. I've tried to call several times at various hours and get the same recording (the recording states that its intended for the hours of 12:00 -2:00 though I have called at various times of the day). No one calls me back so I've been unable to make an appointment. Since I will have to pay out of pocket (she doesn't take my insurance) I'm a bit leary of her "team". read more

She is horrible to work with and is extremely rude!! Every time I have to work with her to schedule a follow up, I know I am going to receive a snotty remark and attitude no matter what. I haven't had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Dore, for I had to cancel my appointment today. I'm very disappointed in the fact that I specifically asked if my Blue Shield PPO insurance was accepted at her office. Anyone who is reading this probley knows how difficult it is to get an appointment with a Rheumatogist. Most offices are booking 2 months from now. So needless to say I made app a month and and half ago, anxiously awaited for the day. Meanwhile my hands and joints continue to worsen and I can visibly see my joints in fingers deforming. I'm 42 years old, and having a very hard time using my hands. Two days prior to apps I become aware that doctor doesn't accept my Blue Shield PPO individual plan. Now I probley have to wait another 2 months to see another specialist. Dr. Dore maybe one of the top rheumatologist in orange county, but she can't be bothered by becoming a preferred participating provider in order for those who pay a lot of money per month for individual PPO ins. may take advantage of her expertise. In my opinion that's selfish unprofessional, and inconsiderate. That's a shame because I here she's great. read more

Dr .Dore is an incredible, caring physician. She has been my rheumatologist for 30 years. Over that time my rheumatological needs have changed and Dr. Dore is always up to date on the newest proven treatments for rheumatoid arthritis. She has also followed my bone density for many years and has given me options and suggestions for preserving strong bones. She always explains treatments and options so well, both verbally and in sketches, that I can actually see in my mind what is happening in problem areas and how changes in behavior can ameliorate the possible damage and pain and make the area stronger. Dr. Dore does not just prescribe a medication; she gives options and reasons why one medication might be better than another. I feel that I am a true partner in my treatment. Dr. Dore is very thorough. She does not rush through a visit but takes the time to understand the situation, treat a problem like drainage of a swollen knee, or need for an injection. I have had to wait in the office longer than usual at times but I know that someone is getting treatment for which other doctors might require a second appointment. I feel so lucky to have her as my doctor. I know that when she gets backed up she will come in on a Saturday to catch up. I make my appointments well in advance and, if I have to change one, I expect it to be a month or so away. read more
