Someone recently referred me to Dr. Basuk, who was incredibly knowledgable and understanding about my condition. In addition to point out some simple lifestyle changes, she recommended treatments that had a less harmful compounds than other medication I have used before. I'm happy to say that my dermatitis has since been a thing of the past. I had a great experience with Dr. Basuk and her staff from start to finish. Pricing is good, especially for Long Island.

Usually when people make appointments during the week they are making time in their work schedule to make the visit which is extremely inconsiderate. Why send out a confirmation text message if you aren't going to even be at the appointment yourself? Zeroooo Updated based on the poor response: Implying I went to the wrong office just shows the lack of accountability by the team here. I'm old enough to read the sign on the building/door... I don't need anyone to call me now I'll go elsewhere. There's always some weird excuse in the reviews here where the customer always seems to be making something up because there's no way the office could own up to a mistake. A helpful tip for future business responses would be something along the lines of ...(We apologize for the inconvenience and value your time. Two months before finding my current dermatologist's office, I suffered an awful experience at this…read moredermatology office in Great River. They barely glanced at my skin before dismissively telling me to use some over-the-counter cream - which they must have known wouldn't help. They made my appt with two male doctors, whom I don't remember the names of, and a newly hired female doctor for my final appointment. They just wanted my $20 copay to rush me out the door with their halfhearted 'Have a nice day.' What a waste of time and money! My current dermatologists, MDCS in Commack, are fantastic! They listen carefully, show genuine empathy, and offer thoughtful solutions to approach the problem. Even when I came in stressed, which wasn't helping my skin issues, they took the time to understand my concerns truly.

I've been a loyal patient of Schweiger Dermatology in Smithtown for years and have always had…read morepositive experiences, which is why I felt comfortable booking a same-day appointment at the Deer Park location since it's closer to home. Unfortunately, this visit left me feeling uncomfortable, dismissed, and taken advantage of. I struggle with significant anxiety around doctors, especially in clinical settings, and instead of feeling supported, I felt judged and spoken down to. The provider I met with had very poor bedside manner and made assumptions about me and my body within minutes of meeting me. At one point, she even commented that I was "getting bright red" while questioning me, which only heightened my anxiety. I was too nervous to speak up in the moment. What stood out the most was being told multiple times that I "never have to come back" and could just return to the Smithtown location. That felt unprofessional and dismissive--especially given that I had just paid a significant amount out of pocket for the visit. To make matters worse, I was informed that treatment would require a follow-up appointment, leaving me feeling stuck after spending money on a visit that ultimately didn't help me. I deeply regret not staying with my original location. I've referred many friends and family members to Schweiger Dermatology over the years and truly value the practice as a whole, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I sincerely wish my visit to the Deer Park office had reflected the level of care and compassion I've consistently received elsewhere.

Last I checked we were a patient and we mattered. Then when you come on time for your appt be ready to wait about an hr to then be told the dr is behind 45 mins a patient and this is at the start of the day. Umm how does that happen. Wonder what would happen if I called and said I was 45 mins late. We know what would happen. And the part about the Dr's and follow up and assistance. See the stars above.

Dr. Leftkowitz and his assistant, Danielle were absolutely terrific. Took a while, yes to remove everything. (That is what you would want, no?) but Dr. Leftkowitz was thorough, friendly, humorous and highly-skilled. Danielle, his assistant was incredibly comforting, sweet and professional in every way. Experienced, compassionate, and such a wonderful human being. Felt like an "old" friend. A great team and I am so thankful I had them. Because this issue was not treated properly in the past by others,( it had gone deeper) it was a long, timely procedure, but I felt reassured in their competence in removing all the cancer cells. Had to have the plastic surgeon, Dr. Singer suture up the wound but he took the time to make the best decision in what would cosmetically look best and promote the proper healing. It was a large wound and required numerous stitches, but I felt confident in his decision-making. Dr. Singer is another asset to this dermatology office. ***I honestly DO NOT understand all the terrible previous reviews..the staff here were kind, efficient as they could be considering the incredible volume of patients seen, and very pleasant. Friendly, understanding and highly professional. A definite 5 star experience for me. Pleased with the whole Advanced Dermatology experience here in W. Islip and Amityville with Dr. Flashner.
