The quality of the work was terrible, filled with mistake after mistake. The job involved a new door installation and the replacement of wood with PVC panels around the bay windows and chimney box--a relatively simple project, one would think. However, it was anything but simple for Clarksville Construction. Find a better contractor and save yourself all these problems. If you know of any, please add them in the comments. Here is a list of some of the problems encountered. * On the first day, the crew did not bring a generator, which caused the circuit breaker to trip repeatedly.  * On the second day, a drill was left on top of the chimney, which was very dangerous. My neighbors noticed it. They also commented that the crew's performance led them to decide not to use Clarksville Construction for their future projects.* I observed that a section of cracked 2x10 wood was used, despite my instructions to the crew not to use such materials. * Communication with the crew was very difficult. I can't imagine how anyone who doesn't speak any Spanish would manage. * The new door did not fit, necessitating the cutting of a section of the wall. * They failed to order a screen door and realized this 4 days into the job. * There were dark marks on the entire chimney siding. Scratches were noticed on the floor in the entryway.  *There were marks on the interior wall next to the door.* A stain was found on the rug. * There was a 1.5-inch gap at the bottom of the chimney box. * The wrong screen door was ordered, delaying delivery by 2 more weeks.* Insulation was not properly installed under the window boxes, resulting in my furnace running continuously. * The crew returned on February 6th, 2026, to address these issues. OVER four and a half months have passed since this project was to be completed. Unbelievably poor, a nightmare, and completely unacceptable!

Since we live three hours away, we had to put a lot of trust in him--and he completely delivered. He sent us updates and photos every night and kept in constant communication with us. He was patient when we needed time to make decisions and always gave helpful, honest advice when we needed it. He's incredibly knowledgable about every aspect of home renovation and we felt like he was always keeping our best interests at heart throughout the renovation. Our first project was done over the winter of 2015-2016, and was a complete redo of our kitchen and breakfast nook. As a retired educator that worked over 25 years in the summer, with a number of general contractors, I know what is good work. Our kitchen turned out beautiful, with new custom cabinets; new granite countertop; new tile flooring; new backsplash; new plumbing and electrical; and some new appliances. Since we live there for 5 months every summer (we are Florida snowbirds), we wanted more than the original kitchen came with. The next winter, we had UCC completely redo our master bathroom, again with amazing results. We had a jacuzzi tub (that we never used) removed and our shower enlarged and changed to a glass-surrounded, rain shower, with newly tiled walls and plumbing. We had the floor re-tiled; installed a custom built, double-vanity with side storage piers; repositioned our heating & AC to vent from under the vanity; and all new lighting and exhaust fans. Our next project with UCC was a complete redo of of our 2nd floor, guest bathroom during the winter of 2017-2018. This one was gutted to the studs and a new tub and tiled shower (with a decorative niche) was installed; new drywall and a new tiled floor; a new vanity with carrera marble sink; plus the heat & AC duct was moved and now vents from under the vanity. All plumbing and electrical were also replaced with new. This winter we plan to have the entire 2nd floor replaced with hardwood flooring. This will include 3 bedrooms; a den; and the stairs coming up from the first floor. I would not even consider getting any other bids, based on what has been done by UCC in the past. Yes, there have been some mistakes along the way, but everything was taken care of and adjusted by Robin and Zack. Having work done while we are 1000 miles away, has never been a problem with this business.

Called several times and never received a response. Someone did answer the phone once and told me how busy they were. Two months passed and never received a call back or response to the email on the estimate sent to me. If they are too busy to respond to questions on a quote, question if they could find the time to do the work. Disappointed because had heard great things about Jack Abell Inc. Dylan was very knowledgeable and seemed like we would receive quality work.
