I was told they prepped my wife for an implant, that was why it was so expensive, however, they prepped her for an implant without her permission. When my husband had an unexpected need for an emergency tooth extraction and implant, the people at…read moreArizona Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery took fantastic care of him. Since this was very last-minute for us, we had no particular expectations and would probably have tolerated much less, as long as they took care of the problem. So it was a wonderful surprise, especially emerging as it did amid all of the pain and turmoil of a bad tooth, that we found ourselves in such a great spot. The doctors are fantastic, but they perform most of their work while you're 'under', so it's the results that speak loudest in that regard - and we've been very pleased. As for the facilities, staff, schedules, etc. - everything was perfect: flawlessly clean, relaxing and comfortable, compassionate professionalism, friendly and accommodating support staff, the list goes on... Let's hope we never have to go back, but if fate has other plans, we certainly know where to go!

The scheduler I was dealing with learned of an issue in my life that was severely impacting my ability to function. When I told her the situation, she treated me as if she had known me for years, instead of having just met me. That's rare these days in my opinion. Imagine my surprise when I received a card about 2 weeks later signed by about a dozen people in the practice! If I am given that level of service and support during and after my procedure, a 5 star review won't even come close- go higher!

Fortunately, I had never needed to visit an oral surgeon before my recent visit to Dr. Holbrook…read more But I'm grateful I was referred to him first. From the first appt to the last (follow-up after surgery), Dr. Holbrook took the time to consult with me and explain - in as much detail as I wanted - exactly what surgery would entail and why it was necessary. On the day of surgery, he was very re-assuring, and surgery went exactly as planned. I was in the chair for a good 45 minutes and was a little concerned about the eventual cost. When I received the final bill, I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't a lot higher (given the number of office visits for consultation/surgery/follow up). There was never any pressure to "DO THIS NOW", and the final result has left me more than pleased. I hope not to have to have more oral surgery, but if it is necessary, I'll definitely return!

The first time I was there, I had not had a cleaning in 10 months (due to illness and a move). The hygienist looked over my teeth and said, "I don't see anything to clean, so you can go." The second time, I nearly choked several times because the hygienist did not offer suction. I had to raise my hand to get her attention FIVE times. On both occasions, the two different hygienists were looking over my files and said, "So, you have cancer, diabetes, and kidney disease." No. I don't have those. BOTH times. They have my file mixed up with someone else. I'm not going back.

Staff is kind and great and I always feel comfortable coming in for my cleanings etc. Highly recommend Oro Valley Dental Arts.

The dentist only discussed those findings after I had signed. I became extremely distressed and was crying, and explained that I was considering a different treatment approach, including extraction and dentures, and why I felt that was more appropriate for me. I was told to discuss this with my husband, and the cleaning proceeded. I felt too overwhelmed in that moment to get up and leave after I had already signed for the treatment. I do not feel I was given enough information at the time I signed to make an informed decision, and the information provided afterward significantly changed my treatment preference. I left feeling that I had not been given a meaningful opportunity to make my own decision about whether to proceed. When I complained, the office told me that it is their standard procedure to have patients sign for treatment before the dentist discusses their dental findings with them.
