I got a second opinion and found I actually needed one crown that wasn't even found by Modern Dentistry. And that was all, $550. I have been going to Modern Dentistry for 8 years. I will not go back. Dr. Perez was very thorough and, though I had another…read moredentist suggest that a root canal might be needed, found a very easy solution to the pain I was having. No root canal and I'm pain free! He also spotted a small crack in an old amalgam filling that he repaired with resin. He was very professional and genuinely friendly. He answered all my questions and I never felt at all rushed. I then had my teeth cleaned and it was just excellent. The clinic is only a five minute walk from the border. It's not a jam-packed operation with dozens of staff and scores of patients. It's a very relaxed atmosphere. Everything is clean and everything I mentioned above was done for $150. In the U.S., I'm guessing I would have paid about $450 (Or I would have been sold a root canal.)

The front office is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Everyone that I dealt with impressed me. They helped me prepare for the surgery, checked on me multiple times after, and they were available for questions. After having heard horror stories about implants, I was not looking forward to the procedure. But, no pain during the root extraction, drilling, and placement of the implant. They took an x-ray, the dentist came in for about 5 minutes, then I had to wait for 30 minutes for a financial aide person to let me know an implant was going to be about $3,000 (and of course they don't take my insurance.) I left after that and there was no mention of a $95 charge for the x-ray. I received that bill about a month AFTER the consult. This type of charge should have been made clear BEFORE the consult and when I emailed explaining this poor business practice I never received a return email, instead I just keep getting a bill and now with service charges added. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield through my employer and allowed up to $1500 a year for dental work. Was going there for years paying cash because I didn't have insurance. now I do through my employer.
