They advised me that I needed a root canal. Since they were booked solid for the next couple of days they gave me a referral to have it done the next day at another office. I feel so much better now and I'm so grateful for everyone's fast action on getting my problem resolved. Everyone at this office are great. I highly recommend going here. I do not feel that I got a good cleaning as her whole procedure seemed awkward and she pinched my lip a few times w/ that suction thing...she offered to rub my gums with some numbing gel that I had never used before & because she was not gentle and I thought that would be best. The gel numbed my throat and whenever she squirted the water to rinse my mouth it went down my throat and up my nose. The back of my throat is quite sore today from all of this. Johnson dental is my dentist preference but I will ask for a different hygienist for any future appointments!!

I was very nervous and upset because he had to go in and fix the tooth he refused to see me because I got so nervous. He accused me on two different occasions, of being rude to his staff. He only had four years experience of doing root canals. I cannot recommend this person and I cannot recommend this center. I had to drive down and inclement weather and it was very nervous making. I told him my physical conditions (which are extensive), and he accused me of "playing the victim".

A few days ago I had a crown come unglued, that had been put in place by one of the dentists at this office 15 months ago. It was 1:45 in the afternoon. I called the office right away. Elvie answered the phone. I told her what had happened and she offered me an appointment the next morning. I asked her if there was any way I could get in that afternoon as the tooth was sensitive to air and I didn't want to spend an uncomfortable night until I could get the crown glued back in place. She put me on hold, came back on the line and said that I needed to be there by 2:10. I told her it might be 2:15 but I would be there. I got to the office at 2:17 (road construction). They took me in right away. Dr. Dutton came in and started working on replacing the crown. He was really efficient, nice and personable. The crown was back in place, and I was on my way 10 minutes later. Great service! Thank you Elvie, and Dr. Dutton.

However, his preventative maintenance program has not been as good. Recently my #2 molar suddenly almost completely disintegrated from an internal cavity that had been festering for years. Regretfully, after years of dental hygiene, numerous repairs, semi-annual complete checks of my dental condition, and a great number of full mouth X-rays, all failed to discover the decay that could have been repaired inexpensively early on. When he came in the room he looked at the computer screen and asked me if it was ok to call me by my first name and I said yes enthusiastically. Those were the last words he said to me. He spoke only to the assistant in the room asking her to make entries in the computer as he instructed her what my "treatment plan" would be. He spoke in dentistry terms and instructed her that I needed about six different procedures some of which I understood and some of which I didn't. This is the worst chair-side manner I've ever encountered. By the way, the assistant, Melissa, was very good, friendly, competent and helpful. I wish she worked for a different office. Did not even look at my tooth but wrote up an estimate for root canal or "just pull it out and live with gap". Rushed and very unprofessional. Never heard back! No way was I going back. See my reviews. Tried Dr. Goldsmith. Fantastic! He actually looked at the tooth and decided to make things more comfortable for me and set about cleaning it and placing a "temporary" filling. 10 minute consultation became a good hour of work to repair my tooth. Painless. Patiently outlined options afterwards. Got a follow up call next morning. Very reasonably priced! Dr. Goldsmith is a kind caring dentist. He was concerned about my welfare and went slowly making sure I felt no pain. Explained everything as we proceeded in a calm reassuring manner. I have a lot of work to be done I know and it has been a concern. I cannot explain what a relief it is to have found a dentist I can absolutely trust. Dr. Goldsmith is THE BEST dentist!

She didn't ask when my last cleaning and x-rays were. Over the years in my accounting practice I have seen this problem with front office help more often than you would expect. I always wonder how professionals such as dentists and vets can be completely unaware of their public face, which quite often isn't very pleasant. You only get one chance at a first impression and you blew it. At least with me.
