The "Agio Olio" was amazing with mussels and shrimp....lots of garlic and a wonderful blending of the juices of all. It can be ordered with your preference of heat from the red pepper. We ordered the mild, and friends with us with a little heat. Everyone loved it! House made pasta was so so good. We also ordered one of the best Caesar salads. Great dressing, a wonderful lettuce that tastes fresh from the garden, sliced white onions, croutons and thin sliced Parmesan. We each ordered different drinks and they were all good. The wait staff were super nice and very attentive. The owner made us feel as if we were good friends visiting his home. We look forward to coming again on our next trip to Sligo.

The mozzarella cheese was quite fresh as were the tomatoes and basil. Simple and nice. The red sauce was the only let down. Great place with a big bar, nice atmosphere, lovely service, and good food.

Great dinner spot in Sligo!…read more When we arrived, it was busy but we were seated right away to a table. We ordered penne al salmone, fettuccine abruzzo and garlic and cheese chips as a side. The penne al salmone was a creamy tomato pasta with smoked salmon. This was saucy and so delicious! The fettuccine abruzzo was a creamy cheese sauce with pancetta, peas and mushrooms. Both pasta dishes were great. The garlic and cheese chips were also yummy. Service was efficient and friendly as well. Overall, awesome Italian food which exceeded our expectations.

My husband and I came to Rugantino in Sligo for dinner and had a very disappointing experience. The…read morestaff were rude, and the service was terrible from the start. I ordered the carbonara, but it was extremely salty and eggy -- I only managed three bites before I let the staff know it wasn't edible. Instead of offering to replace the meal or help in any way, they just took the plate without saying a word. No one checked in, and no effort was made to resolve the issue. Then, to top it off, I was still charged €10.50 for the dish I couldn't eat. When I asked for the manager, a staff member said she was the manager, but never introduced herself or showed any care about the situation. She said I was charged because I "gave back the food." It's not about the money -- it's about the complete lack of customer care or professionalism. We left extremely disappointed and won't be returning. I wouldn't recommend Rugantino to anyone.
