Do not hire this man! Even with something as simple as a hot water heater replacement. He'll send out unqualified "apprentices" he pays $30 a job, try to upsell you items you don't need, and refuse to answer phone when a pipe he "repaired" breaks and floods you home. read more

Where do I begin... Recently my water heater took a shit. Still being under home warranty from First American Home Warranty I decided to take advantage of the 5 days we had left. Upon going through the process I was referred to Robert Wood Plumbing for repairs... Now the fun begins... Three days after making initial contact the plumber showed up, after some tinkering and poking around for a hour or two he determined it was the thermo coupler that needed to be replaced. The plumber then proceeded to leave to find said part. Upon his return he stated the supply warehouse did not have the part in stock and it needed to be ordered. Frustrated yet understanding of the situation we agreed and prepared ourselves for another 3-4 days of cold showers. On the 4th day we had not heard anything and decided to call Robert Wood Plumbing to find the status of our order. The lady on the phone was very nice and helpful, stating that the part had been received and the plumber was scheduled to come out and make repairs the next day. So to recap, we're now 9 days in without having a water heater, and 7 days in dealing with Robert Wood Plumbing. On the 8th day the plumber shows up, states he has to take a picture of the serial number of the part so it can be ordered. My confusion and frustration are hitting epic levels now. Why wasn't the picture taken 4 days ago and why did Robert Wood Plumbing tell us the part was received and ready to be installed. After a small discussion and me venting my frustration the plumber returned to his vehicle to make some phone calls to track down the part. A few ten minutes goes by and the plumber returns. This time with even better news!!! I was notified the part can't be ordered, the supply warehouse no longer stocks it. Why wasn't this known when they came out the first time? ? Who knows... I was then told I have to contact the manufacturer to see if there is a warranty available for ME to order the part, to then call Robert Wood Plumbing to come out and install it when it arrives... if you're just as shocked as I am, it's understandable.. If on the other hand, you enjoy taking cold showers.. wasting over a week of your time.. being fed a line of bullshit for 8 days.. then Robert Wood Plumbing is right for you. read more

Robert Wood Plumbing... these guys are my freaking heroes. Here's the whole story... FAHW warranty claim placed 6/7/21. Received a call promptly for an appointment and only didn't schedule for the following day due to my son's graduation. After FAHW sent out a plumber (Rooter Alert 6/9/21) that came with almost no supplies, didn't identify themselves and did nothing to try to fix our clog/slow drain I was told they'd have to come back the following day with a longer snake to fix the problem. I was told I'd receive a call in about 1/2 hour to reschedule...no problem right? After coming back to the door 2 more times I'm told "they" want him to run a camera down the line to try to determine where the problem is for when they come back... no problem right? At some point they leave and never say anything (whatever). No call back... at all... from anybody. 6/10/21 I check my claim status on FAHW.com. Claim is listed as closed. WTF? I call FAHW and am told they closed the claim because we have no main line clean out. Remaining calm I explain that we've had FAHW for 16 years since we've owned this house. The majority of the claims are plumbing stoppages and the plumbers always clear the issue with a 100 ft snake. I'm placed on forever hold and finally told they will call me back shortly after they review my claim history... no problem RIGHT? 6/11/21 After not receiving a call back from FAHW, I call Navi on Friday afternoon. I speak with Jose. Re-explain the whole situation... forever hold. Advised I will receive a call back either Saturday (yeah right) or Monday at the latest and that the matter would be escalated to management). NO PROBLEM RIGHT? 6/14/21 Monday late afternoon rolls around and no call back. I call FAHW and less calmly re-explain the whole situation. This is the 3rd person I've spoken to who seems to have no idea that I've called previously and received no call back. She seems to want to go back to the beginning where she tells me the claim is closed and denied. I'm having none of that. Long story not so short, after I ask to speak with a manager (who is conveniently unavailable) the case finally gets resigned to Abe Plumbing for a second opinion. Right at the end of the day I get a call from the new contractor to schedule my appointment for 6/22/21. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME...OVER 1 WEEK AWAY. Reluctantly I make the appointment. 6/16/21 My wife calls FAHW and apparently gets somebody infinitely more helpful than anybody I've spoken to. She texts me to let me know it's reassigned to our current heroes Robert Wood Plumbing for sometime between 1pm-2pm Thursday 6/17/21. I receive a confirmation call Wednesday evening and guess what? 6/17/21 Plumber arrived (on time) at about 1:15pm, took a look at everything, was gone by 2:15pm with the drains cleared (fastest work from any prior contractor). Our water heater went out. First American Home Warranty assigned a contractor who never contacted us. We were then assigned to Robert Wood Plumbing. We did have the experience of $855 worth of modifications, and we did feel the pricing was a little too high, but the modifications brought the new water heater to code. So, we agreed to the modifications required for code. Our overall experience with this company was very good. Candace, in the office, was extremely helpful, and Kyle, the technician, was very pleasant and professional. After reading some of the negative comments, we believe many were not happy about being forced to bring their water heaters up to code, and that can result in a great deal of frustration for both the customer and the company. read more

Our home warranty company assigned them to our job and I'm glad they did. I told the person I talked to on the phone that we probably needed a new garbage disposal, so when Robert himself showed up this morning he already had one with him. He was polite, pointed out the new disposal was a different brand from the old one, which was fine with me, and had the whole job done before I knew it. My water heater started leaking and I looked up a local plumber. Saw Robert Wood Plumbing come up with good reviews so I gave him a call. He came out the same day, installed the water heater, and took away the old one. Because there was some water damage, he did not hook up the pressure relief valve, stating that he would come back to do it once I had cleaned up the water damage. I agreed that was reasonable and he left. At this point I have already paid him. Part of the cleanup process required the removal of the water heater and a temporary hookup so I wasn't without hot water, which Robert Wood agreed to do. This is where the trouble begins. He states he is going to show up at noon that day and then crickets. He stops responding to my texts and call. I go without hot water for a few days. Fortunately these were some of the the hottest days of this summer. Fast forward a few days later and the cleanup is completed and everything has dried out fully. I reinstall the water heater with a little outside help. My phone rings that day. It's Robert Wood with a great excuse as to why he hasn't been responding. He apologizes and I accept his circumstance. He agrees to come over a few days later and finish hooking up the pressure relief valve. The day arrives and again he is ghosting me. I text, call, and leave a voicemail once a day for the following week, all very politely asking when I can expect him to finish the work. At this point I've given up on him being professional and actually doing what I paid him for. The job is incomplete and he's avoiding me. Avoid Robert Wood Plumbing to avoid an experience like this. Do not use this company! They were sent by First American to unclog a slow kitchen and bathroom drain. Should have been simple. Told me warranty co didn't cover then wanted to charge me $225 out of pocket plus the $85 I already paid to warranty co. Shannon couldn't unclog kitchen he obviously doesn't know what he is doing. I called my plumber after he left and my guy had it snaked out in 30 minutes for $100. I have never encountered a more unprofessional office staff!! Without going into detail they were the worst I've ever experienced. Complained to warranty co who reversed my service fee and I paid robert wood for the 1 sink they unclogged even tho they took forever and a big waste of my time and overcharged for what was done. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!! If I could do negative stars I would We had our kitchen sink back up and a major leak coming from our garbage disposal Saturday morning. We were assigned this company through our First American Home Warranty company on Saturday. This plumbing company was suppose to contact us and schedule our call within 24 hours. Their website says 24/7 but apparently they're not. Finally heard from them Monday afternoon and told the soonest they could get to us was Tuesday 8am to 12pm. So my wife took time off from work on Tuesday morning to wait for this company to show up, only to be called at 1130 and told that our technician was sick and another technician was assigned for later that day from 1pm to 5 pm. Wife had to leave at 3 pm and I raced home from work to be home for the technician. He finally called at 4pm and said he'd be here in 30 minutes. He arrives, looks under the sink for 30 seconds and relates the garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Nothing said about draining pipes or snaking the plugged pipes. No water ran or tests made. Then He literally said, "Off to Home Depot." and leaves!?!? Based on that comment, I assume he's off to Home Depot to get a replacement garbage disposal and will return to complete the job. I mean, we've literally been waiting around ALL DAY! For 4 days, We've been without a kitchen sink, no water in the kitchen and a dishwasher full of dirty dishes that were in full wash mode when the leak and backup began Saturday morning. And the technician never returned! Nothing was said about coming back that evening, or the next day, or rescheduling first thing tomorrow. Nothing! He just left, saying, Off to Home Depot. I waited 2 more hours, wondering if he'd return and I called the company several times with no response. I left several messages, hoping to hear from them the following day. Next day, nothing. So I called, voicemails only. Finally got ahold of a secretary who said she'd been gone for 4 days and didn't know anything about our call for service. She said she'd call back in 30 minutes. Two hours later, nothing. Back and forth with the Home Warranty and this company, disconnected on twice with no call back. Finally, totally frustrated after two days of trying to get service I call Home Warranty company and lodge a formal complaint. Later that afternoon I get a response from this company and told they will order a replacement disposal and they have us scheduled for Monday.....Monday!?!?! A week with no water, no kitchen sink, no dishwasher!?! Wow. Cancelled this company! Now, on the same day, I checked on Yelp and found a highly rated local plumbing company. Called them and they answered on the first try. They said they'd be at the house one hour later, and constantly kept us updated on their response and arrived as promised. They diagnosed the problem and went to a local hardware store, bought a replacement disposal, returned and installed it! All within 2 hours of my phone call! And They snaked the main line out from the kitchen sink. Cost me more out of pocket but it's done! If your home warranty uses them Beware: Had a technician visit my house for a broken water heater. They determined that my water heater was broken. Problem is that in their report to my home warranty they stated that I needed an additional 1000 dollars worth of upgrades that are not covered under my home warranty. I was being held hostage due to the fact they were unwilling to just replace the water heater as it is. I called a friend who owns their own plumbing company and learned that most companies that get customers from home warranty firms have contracts that limit what the can charge for what is ccovered on the plan. So they charge for additional items and claim that those are required so they can make up the lack of money they make on the replacement alone The whole point to having a home warranty is cover your appliances if they brake. But when contractors end goal is profit only and they insist that your required to pay for additional work to cover their losses is very disheartening. When you contact other firms and find that additional work is not mandatory then you realize they are not honest. There office manager was rude to me and the technician that visited my house was there for only a few min and did not help out with turning off the water to the tank that was still leaking in the street. This is the second time I used Robert Wood Plumbing. The first time was for a sewer clog at a rental. Another company had come out before and told me all the sewer lines needed to be replaced for big bucks. I called Robert for a second opinion. He quickly found the problem , tree roots at a coupling, and was on it the next day replacing the coupling for a very reasonable price. This time it was an under ground water leak issue at my home. He sent Chris out who politely listened to my story and explained my options. Once we agreed on the best course of action, he gave me a very reasonable quote. If your home warranty company assigns you Robert Wood Plumbing, you can expect to: 1) Not have your issue fixed and waste your service request fee 2) Get held hostage with unnecessary modifications or 3) Get ghosted and have your claim closed without explanation If you try and call them you will get to a dispatcher who doesn't know anything and whose sole purpose is to take the backlash they get from angry customers. I met Robert through our home warranty company to fix a hose bib. He's the real deal, a great plumber that puts his name on his business. Pride of ownership and work...a lost art in today's society. I had hot water heater tank leaked. My first american home warranty tried to bring two contractors. Other one is no good but Roberwood Plumbing did it responsibly. Especially, I want to mention about Chris who is a technician who was out here three times. First, to dissemble the tank. And he placed the temporary tank for use. And when the water damage was fixed, he came back to place a new water tank. The process was delayed due to the draying the water damage and contractor repaired the damage. But Chris did a phenomenal job explaining whst he was doing and what code is changed and delivered as promosed. I will use him. Though it is hard to contact the front desk for shceduling as it is busy season and several technicians work rotating, Chris is someone you can trust. My shower was only getting hot water. I called Robert, he came over promptly and took a look at it. Got the part and repaired my shower like new. Also being an Asian household, we don't wear shoes in the house. He had booties for his shoes, he kept the work very clean and tidy. He is also super thorough and checked through everything for me. This is my second review of this company. Again, outstanding performance. My 75 gal water heater leaked right before Thanksgiving day. Chris L. came three times. The first time was the day after I discovered the leak. He diagnosed the leak, provided the information to my home warranty company and recommended I used a temporary water heater while waiting for the approval of the home warranty company, which turned out to be a wise solution because it took more than two weeks to get repair approved. I simply could not imagine how to survive without hot water for two weeks in winter. Chris came the second time with a helper to remove the leaky water heater and installed a temporary water heater. Hence, there was no disruption of hot water supply to me. Chris came two weeks later for the 3rd time and installed a brand new 75 gal water heater and removed the temporary water heater. The replacement took him and his helper under 4 hours. To have water heater breakdown during this busy holiday season would have been a nightware, but my experience turned out to be surprisingly positive, thanks to the techinical competenece, the no-nonsense attitude, and the extreme efficiency of Chris and his team. In addition, Samantha from back office put in numerous hours to communicate with my home warranty company and to get the replacement approved. It is no small feat considering few people worked at the warranty company during the holiday season and it is usually very hard to get a big repair budget approved by the warranty company. Her persistence and work ethics got the results I sorely needed. Last but not least, the owner Robert responded to my request quickly on a late Friday evening and managed to schedule the replacement within 3 business days. This is overall a solid team. The results speak for themselves. I am posting here three pictures: before, during and after the repair. As a real estate broker, I have been doing dealing with many contractors on daily basis. We moved into a new home and contracted through first American home warranty for coverage for appliances and fixture problems. When our kitchen sink leaked, Kyle from Robert Wood plumbing was sent to diagnose the problem. He said our faucet was old and asked us what he thought caused the leak. We told him we didn't do anything out of the ordinary except my father used the pull down hose for the first time, which we didn't even know existed because it's a new house and we didn't know fhe faucet had a pull down hose. Kyle said the pull down hose likely lodged or caught on to something and caused the hose to leak, and he mentioned calcification likely is the culprit for hot water not to work. Well that's all fine because we have warranty coverage and when we called to see about a replacement faucet the warranty company denied it because Kyle noted in his records that the faucet was FORCIBLY used. How can he note that a faucet is forcibly used when he didn't even witness how it was used when it broke? It was nothing more than normal wear and use, but because of his incorrect assumption of FORCED use, our warranty denied coverage. When we asked his assistant to correct the record to reflect what actually happened, versus the conclusion he incorrectly jumped to which was FORCED use, she declined to assist with that request and said they wouldn't change their notes. Absolutely 1 star service. Not only did they not fix the problem, but they incorrectly diagnosed it and refused to do the right thing in correcting their records. I would not recommend them to anyone, not because they made a mistake (we all make mistakes) but because they refused to correct their mistake when kindly asked to do so. read more

Robert took under 15 min to diagnose the problem that the prior company for some reason got totally wrong. He called me less then an hour later to say he had just ordered the part and it would come in on Wednesday afternoon, installing it first thing Thursday morning. We had to go through this contractor through our home warranty company. They were terrible. They came to our property to look at the water heater. The water heater needed to be replaced. They took an entire week to report that back to our home warranty company. Keep in mind this is a week of cold showers and no communication on their end. I called them every day for 5 days in a row to get the report submitted and every time I called either no one would answer or the manager that handles the report was unavailable. To top it off they tried to quote $900 above the cost of what the warranty covers for "modifications" that were completely unnecessary. We had someone else take a look at the water heater and they said the alterations were not justified because some of the things they were quoting were only necessary if the heater was located inside the house, which it is not. We ended up requesting the warranty company a cash out amount. I would not recommend anyone work with this company. They are unreliable, their communication is terrible and they will rip you off. read more

My main line got clogged and flooded my kitchen and bathroom. Robert came right way to help me unclog late at night. I then reached out to Robert that same week to put a camera down the main line and with other plumbing issues I was having like a leaking output and faucet. He was responsive and patient each time he came over to fix something. He is experienced and genuinely willing to help. Horrendous experience being assigned this contractor by First American Home Warranty for a failed hot water heater claim. While the initial first contact and visit was fairly quick, they failed to submit the inspection report to First American within a timely manner. Chris had come out to inspect the hot water heater on a Tuesday and stated he would submit the report that day, that did not happen. After multiple unanswered phone calls and voicemails to Robert Wood Plumbing, I was able to get someone on the phone the following Monday and was told they submitted the report on Friday, four days after the appointment. What? Why did it take you so long, and why was there zero communication between the visit and now? And why is no one picking up the phone or returning voicemails? I was then told I would get a call back later that day or the following morning which also did not happen. I continue to call the listed number for this company and no one picks up the phone. If you are assigned this company for a claim, request a different one. read more

I tried to use Bob. He came over, scoped the work, and agreed to start cutting a small square of sheetrock while I had to run to the store for the washer valve wall-box kit. He did not have the parts while he said he did on the phone before coming over. I was about to leave, walked out the house, and saw him suddenly driving away. I assumed he was going to Lowes and texted him to confirm. The only answer was that he had a customer with sudden flooding. Finally, there is no reading between the lines now.
