I hate doctors; let's face it - the state of health care in our country is the laughing stock of…read moreboth the free and the not-so-free world. I think maybe that people in North Korea have a slightly harder time getting decent health care, but not much! The docs in our country typically don't make it very easy to approach them, even when insurance and other considerations aren't an issue. They're always available only during banker's hours or what-have-you, and VERY eager to get rid of you. Patient: My back really hurts! Doc: You have a cold. Go home and get some rest and plenty of fluids. You know, crap like that. MAN, I hate doctors... ...or, at least I did, until I met Dr. Silverman. Lemme tell you something about this guy: I called his office one night complaining of really bad pain in my throat. It was about 5pm on a Friday night and I had no idea who to go to - the emergency room is never a help ANYWHERE, so I chanced across Dr. Silverman's name in the yellow pages. His staff was very friendly and squeezed me in THAT NIGHT so I could see the doc, who even though it was close to time for the office to close by my appointment (they close at 7, thank the moons!) still stayed to talk with me... ...and man, did he ever! Not only did he find out what was wrong and prescribe antibiotics, he sat down and talked with me at length about my entire medical history, helping me to get some help with other issues that I had always wanted help with! He was kind, attentive, and made me feel like a valued patient that he actually had a vested interest in healing! Imagine that! Dr. Silverman, you are a credit to your profession, and I am very thankful that I have found a physician as great as yourself!

When they run out they have to contact the clinic to have them send over to their pharmacy. But this cannot happen. Due to the staff managing the phones they are unable to reach the clinic and the pharmacy is unable to contact them as well to have a daily medication to assist with breathing and overall health. The MA's are unable to assist and unable to take down / record proper information resulting in incorrect prescriptions or orders being relayed to a medical provider or even recorded in the system. They were unable to find a patient despite providing them name and birth date, after clarifying them information of identification they said "whoops now I found you" after almost hanging up. If you are a new or existing patient that is reading this, I HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere and reporting this facility for improper work behavior and communication skills.

There haven't been any responses. It's odd they say they are taking new patients yet it's difficult to get through to them and to get any appointment set up.

I can't say enough good things about Dr Kemp. I was searching for a new physician after my primary…read morefor more than 6 years began to have longer and longer wait times to see her, then longer wait times to see PAs. It got to where I had to schedule my yearly Pap 6 months in advance, and regular visits (once for bronchitis at least 3 weeks out) as well. Dr Kemp was a physician at a local practice with several other physicians. About 6 months after my first appointment, I was alerted that she was moving to her own private practice a few blocks away in Orenco Station. Her staff consists of a very professional (and delightful) office manager and one of my favorite nurses ever; as the practice has grown, she's added a nurse assistant. The clinic is in one of the cute Orenco Station townhouses; very elegant with an Italian theme and three clean, comfortable rooms. Dr Kemp has helped me manage my medical issues with compassionate care. She is very professional, yet warm, and always takes time to explain to me what the issue is and the treatment approaches. When I had an on-the-job foot injury a few years ago, she worked with my podiatrist and Worker's Compensation to make sure the process leading up to the surgery (by the podiatrist) was smoother than it otherwise could have been (WC is a pain to work with). The only downside of her new practice is that she is extremely popular and *does not* shuttle her patients out the door after the insurance-required 15 minutes - and this means more time in the wait room, but it's worth it for a doctor who truly cares.
