I think Dr. Howe is one of the most empathetic doctors I have encountered in my 51 years of living. Not to get into personal details of my health on Yelp - I will say this..... when I met Dr. Howe I asked him if he would be willing to treat me for anything that my blood might reveal and his answer was yes (my last ob/gyn was unwilling to do this). He is an expert in his field and I respect and appreciate his guidance. He believes in getting to root cause as opposed to just treating symptom - but is willing to do both to ensure the comfort of his patients. I think he is an outstanding doctor! read more

It's hard to find a doctor these days who spends a lot of time with his patients, and I don't think I've had an appointment with Dr. Howe that lasted less than an hour. He listens carefully and patiently to any concerns and takes notes on everything discussed (questions, answers, instructions) and he gives you a visit summary every time. There is a lot of information to take in and having the summary is very helpful. He also has very convenient Saturday hours - so if you have a busy schedule, you don't have the added stress of taking time off work for an appointment. Top notch care! read more

Dr. Howe really put me at ease. I was worried about flying cross-country during the pandemic, but he assured me that there was nothing to be concerned about, because he had done it! I was relieved to hear that spending a long time in an enclosed space poses no problems for a person over 65. When I explained that I thought my joint problems might be due to the drug he had prescribed for osteoporosis, he advised that I take a hot shower. That will teach me to look up side effects! I was also relieved to hear that Dr. Howe doesn't believe in testing hormone levels for menopausal women. I mean, once you prescribe HRT, what's the point? All those hormone replacement drugs work exactly the same for everybody, don't they? He also reassured me that the frequent bleeding I was experiencing was probably just a polyp. Now I don't have to worry about cancer. All these unnecessary tests just make people anxious. Thank you Dr. Howe for putting my mind at ease. read more

After doing IUI in Chicago and relocating out to MA, we needed a new Dr. We decided to try Dr Howe even though his reviews were 50/50. Our first two visits were good and our actual IUI was horrible. We were shoved in a room with two women we never met and handed a sheet and was told to verify by looking at our EMPTY capsule that it was our donor. The number was correct but the sheet of paper said it was tested and thawed at 8AM and our appt was 11AM. So being that things were way diff. from before I asked what their process was for our sperm sample. The woman behind the NP that was doing my IUI said we thaw it for a few hours, then wash it, then test it. I freaked! Our sample comes pre-washed and the fact that they thawed it at 8AM stressed me out. They handed us a timer and said lay her for 20 mins. I was upset & stressed. We later found out that woman was a MA, also she had the lad tech Ellen come tell us she didn't wash it after 10 mins and she was very questionable and shaky. The Dr called a few days later and instead of saying sorry for the mishap implied that I need to ask the right people the correct questions and that Ellen's answer should have been enough and that she just is shaky in general. Great a lab worker that is shaky with our donor sperm. He then began to say he doesn't like being set up. Over all this doctor could use some classes on respect, communication, and empathy in my opinion. I have read many reviews about him that people have had problems for years getting pregnant. FYI: follow up we switched doctors and the next month conceived. Go figure. DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME & MONEY on this man that calls himself a doctor. I would give this guy a negative star if I could. I would also like to say that we are cash paying patients and our first two visits we paid after our visit our last visit as soon as we walked in they asked for payment. Not a professional office by any means. Price too his office for IUI 354$, our new office 98$. It really is not about the cost though it is about feeling good when you are doing the most important thing you can do in this lifetime. I went to Dr. Howe for painful and heavy periods. His first solution was to put me on two drugs with a very high dosage instead of birth control. These drugs worked well for about two months until during the third month, I developed vaginal, painful, hives from these drugs. I called the office immediately and the lady at the front desk told me he was on vacation and asked ME if I knew any other drugs Dr. Howe could put me on. Obviously, if I knew what drug that could help me, I wouldn't have gone to Dr. Howe in the first place. Since Dr. Howe was on vacation, he didn't call me back for two weeks when I was told he would call me ASAP. I was tortured with the hives and ended up calling my home pharmacy for advice on how to cure them since Dr. Howe didn't call me for two weeks and I was itchy, in pain, and scared. Dr. Howe then called me and I explained what happened and he didn't even apologize and just told me he was putting me on another drug. I happily switched doctors. My new doctor is actually empathetic and cares about my well-being. I cannot say the same about Dr. Howe. read more
