Guys, are you tired of entry level barbers or hair places. The staff constantly turns over and you…read moreare never happy with the results. Or someone recommends a salon that is too expensive and set up for the ladies. Well I would highly recommend Vintage86 barber in Decatur! My son and myself go to Melissa at Vintage86 and we have been extremely happy. Her hours are flexible, she is down to earth and her service is outstanding. The cost is very reasonable and great value for the cut. Melissa listens to our requests makes suggestions and makes sure we are happy before we leave. She is funny and it's a great environment. Her scheduling system sets up future dates and you get reminders two days out before your next haircut. She is a licensed barber and does an excellent neck shave. So if you are looking for a new barber for the guys in your family I would recommend Vintage86 and Melissa.

I was a walkin but the young man who approached me was very polite and concerned. Everyone was busy with appointments but he found a barber to assist me. Wesley was the young man that freed me of my over grown beard and my haircut. The time and effort he put into my needs were amazing. I felt like I was the canvas and he was the artists. Awesome experience and very well worth the fee. Young or old, you will fall in love with this place. Thank you, King David.

Laura cussed while my daughter was there waiting till my haircut was done…read more Laura messed up my haircut while full of attitude. I clearly told her from the start I wanted the sides cut all the way up to the top line -- no fade -- with a specific length and cut on top. She started fading one side anyway. I stopped her mid-cut and corrected her. "The top is going to hang over" she said. I told her thats fine. She switched to cutting it all the way up like I asked, but left the line uneven where the sides meet the top. When I pointed out it was uneven, she said it looked fine to her and didn't fix it. She finished, barely cleaned the hair off me, gave a quick blow-over, and charged me $25. I still tipped her $5. Came back the next day to get it fixed. The other stylist saw me, left me sitting there while she went to the bathroom, then came back and knew I was there the day before and refused to fix it, saying it was Laura's responsibility. I walked out. Won't be back.

I requested an appointment through Yelp and received a friendly text back within five minutes, letting me know they'd be open at 9 AM. When I arrived a little early, one of the barbers greeted me and let me know Ace would be in shortly. The shop has a great 'back-in-time' vibe with a solid music selection. Ace gave me one of the best fades I've ever had, and he also shaped up my beard with a straight razor. The attention to detail was fantastic. I take my cut seriously and always aim for a sharp appearance, and Ace definitely delivered. If you're like me and care about your personal brand, look no further--Ace is your guy!

What a great place! While there may occasionally be a wait, you can add your name to the list and…read morego run an errand. The stylist/ hairdressers are patient and will take their time, so if you are waiting for someone specific you might have to wait a while. However, from what I have seen, most of them are pretty talented. If you have a simple style, you can usually get a seat pretty quickly. I have seen them work on kids, adults, and elderly. They can do it all, and most of these ladies have built a loyal clientele! That's not easy to do. I have been to almost every place in this county for men's hair. My hair is not a simple buzz cut or shave, and it does require styling. This is the only place I could find someone who knew how to work with medium length men's hair, and could be consistent. I do not like clippers on my hair, it just never works out right... and this place will do an actual scissors cut. 4 Solid stars!
