I recently moved to the Flower Mound area and was searching for a new barber. After hours of research on Yelp and other sites, I decided to try Back N Time--and I'm glad I did! I requested an appointment through Yelp and received a friendly text back within five minutes, letting me know they'd be open at 9 AM. When I arrived a little early, one of the barbers greeted me and let me know Ace would be in shortly. The shop has a great 'back-in-time' vibe with a solid music selection. Ace gave me one of the best fades I've ever had, and he also shaped up my beard with a straight razor. The attention to detail was fantastic. I don't ever do this but I just paid $35 for a shave and tipped $5! The barber Joshua was super nice dude but did a number to my face! First off one side of the cheek is lined up lower than the other while the left side dips down and isn't a straight line. I kind of knew it was not going to be straight cause he looked at it and said "that's good!" Which made me nervous. Then he left quite a bit of hair on my cheek after the shave. As far as my neck! It is on fire! I have never had a shave hurt so bad and so many spots of blood after either. Hate to say it but won't ever go back especially for the price! So i probably looked up about 20 or so barber shops/haircut places for my 9yr old before deciding on this shop. First let me say as a customer if i walk into your store and the first employee to greet me has 4 legs, fur and a wagging little tush.. ive already decided to stay. little tip i learned. Mondays are "Goose" days. Goose would be an adorable black little mini aussie. say hi to her for me. Anyway. this was my son's first real professional haircut. his first time was as a toddler and he hated it. he is actually a very anxious person and some things overwhelm him. Im giving it 5 stars because my son got home and said "Thats the only place i want to get my hair cut at!" We took a photo of a haircut he liked that we found online and they replicated it in the shop. We also were told how they were styling it step by step and what products they were using. They have adorable old time era chairs and furniture. Just go in and look around. you will probably decide to get a haircut just for the experience. its real cool. They have free beverages in a refurbished ice chest cabinet thats been converted to a fridge. Id say more but you need to go for yourself. read more

I had been here previously (pre-covid) and enjoyed the servicw and atmosphere. I have not had a haircut since March and thought that a small high-end barber would be a safe place for a haircut. I walked in and noticed not a single person out of the seven people there (employees and patrons) had a mask. I basically noped the hell out of there. I normally go to Floyd's but that place pre-covid was crowded and full of twenty-somethings so I was not sure that I wanted go. After the leaving Back in Time, I went to Floyd's and was pleasantly surprised that they were operating at half capacity for social distancing, everyone including patrons were wearing masks and they took my temperature upon arrival. read more

I took my 17 year old head for the first time last week. We were getting his Senior Pictures taken and needed to correct a horrendous cut he previously had gotten elsewhere that was growing out weird. He landed in Mr.Chuck's chair and what can I say..Chuck was amazing!! Not only did he fix my son's hair, but I decided to splurge and treat him to his first professional shave (old fashioned style!). My son left that 1.5 hour pampering session so relaxed and happy. I don't know what he and Chuck were talking about, but my son is now a fan and has found his permanent hair cut place! Trace did a great job fixing me up and making me presentable, beard and up too! Very interesting shop with great antiques throughout the shop. Very friendly service from everyone from the minute you walk in the door to the minute that you leave. Definitely, going back on a routine basis. UPDATE: I have been to this place multiple times and had multiple employees fix me up. Today, same experience with a different barber. Still remains the BEST place for a shave and haircut! Even though I didn't get the aftershave that I usually get. I found out that I didn't get it because someone complained that their spouse smelled like a "French Whore." I just want to thank that person for not telling their husband to just request the avoidance of application rather than yell at the barber, after the fact, and preventing the rest of the patrons from getting to undergo the full experience of an actual barber. I get it though, you are just one of those people that want everyone to comply with you rather than enjoy the finer things in life. Thanks, but now thanks, Negative Nancy!
