Then I had A friend of mine come to school with a fresh cut that really caught my eye, asked where he got the hair cut and he said Dubl R's. The work spoke for its self so i made an appointment with ruben, walked into the shop and was immediately greeted with an awesome shop/staff. Ruben cleaned me up with a solid fade/combover, couldnt be happier with his style of cuttin. Safe to say i Found my self a new barber while im out of town, highly recommend the shop!

I don't mean you're going to be in there for an hour just to get a trim, I mean they don't rush the job and just try to get you out of the shop as fast as possible like so many places do. These guys take pride in their work. All the barbers are very nice and funny people. The conversation is always good (usually sports) and even though every single time I've ever been in there I was the only white guy, I've always been made to feel like one of the guys. Which I know sounds insensitive and stupid, I'm sorry about that (because why WOULDN'T they?), but I grew up in a predominantly white area, and when I first walked in there as a 19 year old, that was the most African American guys I'd been around at one time. And being a dumb somewhat sheltered teenager was almost intimidated (not scared, just a little out of my element) until they made me feel right at home. There was no extra charge for the life lesson. The shop itself is nice, always kept impeccably clean and they have televisions to watch and snacks/drinks for sale if you're so inclined. The prices are about the same as any other barber shop, I think it's $16. Plus tip of course. Always tip your barber, especially these guys because they take good care of you. I wouldn't care if they charged $50, it's worth it. I needed a haircut one day and they were closed (I think they're closed Sunday or maybe Monday I forget) so I went to a chain barber shop down the street, and they messed my hair up while trying to scalp me and toss me out the door to keep the herd moving. I ended up going to Troy Cuts to get it fixed the next day. If you want your hair cut right by somebody who actually cares about what they're doing, go to Troy Cuts. If you want your hair to look like crap and to be treated like a faceless drone, go to one of the chain stores down the road.

My appointment time pushed back from 2:30 to 3:10, this was accompanied by 2 rude female staff member, one of whom had cut my hair prior. Once my chosen barber Andrea came out for my appointment, I noticed she had seemed to over sleep on her break and that was the reason for the additional wait. When I asked Andrea for Cheston, the owner of the flower mound locations contact information, they refused to give me that or any management contact information. I'm under the impression as well that they found this all humorous safeguarding the information in thoughts nothing would become of the situation. 25 bucks I get it but, this was the worst experience and didn't get my hair cut. Mind you this was all on Friday and my 1 day off. Cheston needs to fire a majority of his staffing at both of his locations and revamp a new hiring manager if he wants any chance at all with keeping these two locations running.

I originally had seen Bill as a referral from a friend. She had beautiful blonde highlights. I had literally bounced from salon to salon trying to find someone who didn't completely screw up my highlights. It was not an easy process and you shouldn't trust just anyone to messing with your blonde hair. I saw Bill and he transformed me. I couldn't have been happier that I found someone local and it didn't take me all day to drive to Dallas. Tragically Bill is no longer with us but Rhonda took over. She is phenomenal.
