These guys have been around Denton for years (+20) and have always provided that classic hair cut you see in the old classic movies. They offers a straight razor shave if you schedule ahead and are always very friendly and welcoming. My haircuts have always been great and I couldn't ask for a more relaxing environment for a guy. The average patron is a male so ladies may not come here for the traditional salon services. They are great guys and I recommend them. read more

Clean, friendly place, quality haircut and easy enough to get to if you park in the lot across from Oakstreet drafthouse.

I got the wrong guy. Make sure your barber isn't the fella that didn't go to barber college... Amazing: I got home and showered... And found that it's not as bad as I thought... ITS WORSE The only thing I can think is that Russ had taken some LDS in the 70's, had a relapse, and was imagining that he was cutting some gum out of my hair... Truly amazing. Stunning. I look like a Syria refugee that was just deloused. I called the owner, he offered to fix it. I declined. I even called Russ back and asked if I was his enemy, or had offended him and didn't know it... Basically- I personally will never go back. I will also warn people away. This is EXACTLY what Yelp is for... Yes, the shop comes highly recommended: but unless you have gum in your hair - stay the living heck away from Russ.. And yes...it's THAT bad update: owner read my review and claims i had some kinda agenda.. also, commented that i tipped $14 for a $16 haircut... just call the barber i use in utah -- she will tell you i tip much more than that for a good cut. basically, i will now use whatever resources i have to encourage people to go elsewhere. a crappy haircut is one thing...accusing me of having some kind of agenda is another.... okay, i'll play along - i now actually DO have an agenda read more

Campus Barber Shop - Well. At least it'll grow back - Barbers Near Me - Denton, Texas

My first experience here was great, thanks to Jay. However, my second time here gave me the worst haircut I've ever gotten in 25 years of my life. This time wasn't with Jay since he wasn't available. I requested 1's on both sides, lots of hair thinning and have my front hair cut just a little bit. Because they turn you away from mirror, you can't really see the work in progress until it's done. When it was finished, I didn't think it was too bad. Perhaps due to dimmed light. I go to my car, and see my hair. The front hair is completely messed up, with no kind of balance of its length. The sides weren't even 1 and the sideburns weren't even. It looks like the barber just quit in the middle and left my hairs hanging like this. And YOU KNOW the haircut wasn't good when you come home and your mom says it will look better just shaved off. I had to go out with this hair for my birthday, 3 month anniversary with my girl, take my new passport photo, DL, and go out in public. I cant even put my hair up or style it because it's too short and uneven. I'm sorry if I sound rude, I did not intend to come off that way. I'll never be coming back, even if it's $18 (they raised the price). read more

Let me just start out by saying I don't have much hair! So when I get a haircut you would think it would be easy. Well for the first time in my life I've finally found someone who knows what he's doing. Everyone there is laid back and professional. They are extremely helpful and always work to get exactly what you want. The place pretty clean and straight forward. There are no frills to it and that's what I like. With every haircut they do a straight razor neck shave, which feels wonderful with the hot lather they put on! You can also get a straight razor shave there as well if you have an appointment. These guys are all seem like old fashion barbers who know what they are doing. Be prepared to step in for a haircut and come out with some good advice. They do get a little bit busy, but what do you expect from a place that does such a good job. The best thing about this place is the people who work there, they really do care what's going on with your life and look forward to seeing you again. read more

Old school barber shop which is cool. My instructions to 'clean me up, blocked in the back' became a very short tapered cut. Oops! In 6 weeks it can be fixed, in the mean time, I'm short for the summer. Good place to hear Fox News opinions of the current news cycle if you are of that mindset. I am not. I am one of those 'liberal retards' as the barber in the next station referred to 'us'. Probably won't be returning. read more

Great place!!Great Price!! Old school feel with talented barbers! Anthony gave me great advice and a even better haircut. My go to place from now on!! read more

I've always loved the idea of guys going to a barber shop. So when it came time to take our grandson for his very first haircut we headed out and found the perfect place! Anthony did a great job on my hunny and grandson's hair. Thanks so much Anthony for being part of Matthew's first barber visit. We will be back to see you. read more

Great old fashioned haircut by a well trained, professional barber. I'll be back for more.

Nice guys, but whoever I got didn't know how to cut hair. Asked for a bald fade and he proceeds by blending in the top of my hair with my sides. read more

If you're into Fox News and derogatory comments about women, this place is for you. Walked in and sat down to wait for a cut. The barbers were cutting it up with "locker room talk." Hard pass. read more

Best place I've been to since I was little (picture from 1987) I was born and raised in Denton but I've been to many barbershops and beauty salons in the DFW area and around the country and I always come back here after other places mess things up. read more

Campus Barber Shop - @ the Fry Street Campus Barbershop Original Location - Barbers Near Me - Denton, Texas

I'm in from out if town, went to Campus Barbers off a recommendation from Bro In Law. Experience was great! Friendly staff, comfy leather couches, did a great job on hair cut, goatee trim and a very relaxing and soothing straight blade hot shave. Top notch! read more

Straight razor shave and a haircut. Finally, a hot towel with a haircut. Very classy place with classy guys. Haircut is normally $16 and together it was $40. Nice way to treat yourself, if you dig a manly shave and haircut. read more

Absolutely the worst haircut ever my friend got there. Now we have to shave his whole head. I'm in shock because I told him to go to a barber. read more

Great place. This was always a gem, when it was down on fry street and the legacy of great cuts lives on. Slick cuts by some cool guys.

At first I was a little skeptical about this place. You walk in and are half greeted and then sit until someone hollers. Once I sat down in the barbers chair I knew I was in good hands. My man Gene asked "how much hair you want me to leave you with?" I chuckled and and went over it with him. He kept me facing away from the mirror so I couldn't inspect what he was doing all I could see was mounds of hair falling from all over. During the haircut we had small talk between us and the shop, like it is supposed to be. When he handed me the mirror I needed no modifications he did exactly what I asked to the T. I recommend and will be back until I get out of college. read more

This place is by far my favorite barbershop. The barbers are great and the store has a great atmosphere.

For the price of the other guys on the loop, I got one of the best haircuts of my life. The barbers here are what you'd expect from an old school barber shop; no fluff and very meticulous. They even use a straight razor on the back of your neck (which feels amazing!). Forget the "stylists" and treat yourself to a great experience at Campus Barber Shop! read more

Just what a barbershop should be and just like any barbershop the relative abilities of the barbers vary. Overall, the quality of my haircuts has been good but has varied with each barber. This place is pretty popular so be prepared to wait but with 4 to 5 barbers on duty the wait shouldn't be long. read more

Great place! good barbers who know what they're doing, nice place. very reasonable prices. i will go here from now on

I've been going to the Campus for about 12 years. Jeremy and Gene always do a great job. Best haircut in town! This is Ron posting not Peggy. read more

Great service, great haircuts and beard trims, great price. Can't go wrong. The best I have found in dTX.

Some really great guys work here. Rest assured you'll get a nice cut and these guys all bring some great energy. This is my go to in Denton.

This is the only place I get my hair cut. I am a disabled veteran that uses a wheelchair and I love this place. The guys are friendly and most of all they do a great job cutting hair! read more

Don't let the owner's appearance deceive you. While it may seem slightly intimidating getting a haircut from a man who probably buzzed heads before shipping them to Vietnam, I knew I was in good hands. Everyone was polite, friendly, and helpful. Anyone who has ever had a bad experience here, I strongly urge you to go back and give them another shot. As long as you are direct and courteous, you will get exactly what you want. read more

I live in Lewisville, but I come out every 2 weeks to see Jeremy. This place is hands down the best I've had. Definitely worth it. They will get you done extremely quick for a low price. read more

Great haircut. I've received quality haircuts for the few months I've been coming here.

while this is an excellent barber shop, i will never go back. has NOTHING to do with the business. i am a disabled vet. i park in the handicap spot. apparently, all the parking on this street is back in. so i was issued a parking ticket. up yours, denton. i will never drive on this street again, let alone park. all the businesses on this street need to warn customers. you got my money for this time, but you lose all my money for the future. read more
