I'm not sure if it's the office or the doctor but they have absolutely no urgency for sick and terminally ill patients. They don't return calls and don't process referrals timely all the while the patients suffer. The doctor and staff should not work with terminally ill patients as they can't quickly and efficiently get them the care and comfort they need. When we shared our frustrations with a nurse regarding lack of care and treatment she started crying on the phone. She had her supervisor Rochelle call and berate us for simply stating 'I hope when you're family member has cancer they receive better care than we have here'. Instead of being understanding and realizing the patients they treat are dealing with life and death they choose to be rude and confrontational. If you are referred to this doctor or facility I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO SEEK TREATMENT ELSEWHERE.
Examples of poor care that borderlines sheer neglectand malpractice:
7/28 met with Dr. Robles due to issues catching breath. Advised of trouble breathing but was dismissed by Dr. Robles.
7/30 was still having trouble catching breath. Advised to go to the emergency room. Dr. Robles said he would call the hospital and let them know she was coming down. Waited from from10am-4pm to be seen in the emergency room and was sent home to rest after being told it was just "the cancer." Continued through the weekend with breathing issues as well as extreme fatigue, trouble walking longer distance or standing for a period of time.
8/3 called twice and left messages, no return call.
8/4 called and left message, no return call.
8/6 went to ER due to continued breathing issues. Dr. Robles was there so we refused to leave until further tests were done. Dr. Robles ran new tests and admitted that her cancer has progressed in the lungs. Dr. Robles advised that she would need to start chemotherapy.
8/12 appointment with Dr. Robles regarding chemotherapy treatment.
8/17 and 8/20 calls to office following up for scheduling chemo- no call back
8/24 left two messages in the morning with no call back. Called again in the afternoon and spoke to Sarah. Following up regarding chemotherapy treatment as well as palliative care due to deteriorating state with breathing, fatigue and weakness as reported starting 7/30.
Sarah warned it could take a while so might be a good option to set one up on our own.
**Requested to speak with supervisor since there was still no information regarding Chemo, appointments. Then spoke to Roquelle(Rocky). Updated her with how long we have been waiting for any call back regarding chemotherapy, treatments and referrals. She advised she would follow up for status and scheduled an appointment for 08/31. Received a call from the authorization department stating the doctor has an appointment scheduled to discuss chemotherapy approval with insurance tomorrow 8/25. Never received a call back with status on other requests for palliative care.
8/26 made four calls following for palliative care, no response. Did receive a prescription.
8/30 called checking status on chemotherapy treatment and palliative care referral. Advised chemotherapy denied and no update for palliative care.
This is just a few examples. There are many more but too much to post everything. read more
