If you need a piece of furniture, or something a bit novel and antiquey, or even if you need to get rid of some furniture that you already have, Robert John Feather-Be is your man.
Open Monday through to Saturday, though not at any specified time, this cheery man sells all sorts of second-hand furniture, from practical little chest-o-drawers to battered old rocking horses. here is also a massive range in terms of quality. I bought a mirror off him for a fiver, quite a big one, but it is pretty damn wonky. My friend who spent a tenner got a cracking mirror, floor standing and almost flawlessly accurate.
I would grant four stars, because it's a great little business, but the truth of it is, Preston Circus, where the shop is located, is a fantstic neighbourhood for picking up free furniture which residents discard onto the street in front of their houses, so often you can get hold of a three piece suite for absolutely nothing, so long as you've a few strong friends you can convince to help you lug it home.
Still, Robert John Feather-Be's is well worth a look in, especially if you're recently moved in in the area and you need a couple of bits and bobs, but you don't have all the cash in the world. read more
