I had a very positive experience with Coda Staffing in New Jersey. I live in the Chicagoland…read moresuburbs, and received a call from "Raquel" who saw my resume on a job board, and said she had a position in the Chicago suburbs that she thought I may be suited for. Raquel explained that her staffing agency, and the company HQ that she was recruiting for was based in NJ, but she was looking for somebody for their Chicago area office. It seems they had a person who was supposed to start, but it fell through, which left everybody in a bit of a bind. Long story short, I did end up going for the interview, and I wish it could have worked out. The office they sent me to was right by my house, and the lady who I would have been working for was quite possibly the nicest lady I had ever interviewed with. For various reasons though, I felt I wasn't the right fit for the job. What impressed me about this agency though, was the absolute professionalism from beginning to end. Raquel was coaching me the entire process, without being patronizing. The interview tips, are invaluable. I had already learned what questions to expect, and what questions to ask, through my own mistakes in previous interviews. I wish some company like hers would have spared me the trouble of researching these things on my own. She had sent all the tips in a simple email (without making it a cumbersome process of different links and web pages to click of what to expect in a basic job interview.) She included what to highlight on my end, and included a short sample of questions to ask the hiring manager as well. Though this job did not work out, Raquel thanked me in the kindest way, and assured me if something more suitable came up at the same company, I would be contacted. This was probably the first job interview I had that didn't work out, that made me actually feel positive and satisfied about the entire experience. This was not a waste of time at all. I know if there is something in the area for me and the timing is right, I've got a great contact in New Jersey.

I started the job 2 days after that call and everything seem to be fine until I explained to her a trip that I had already planned for months now and she told me everything would be fine and taken care off since I was called to work so soon. In conclusion I got LET GO from the company because she never spoke with the manager of the dealership and made him aware that I was leaving to a trip, THE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO SHE WAS?!?? and to top it off SHE SCAMMED ME OF MY LAST PAYCHECK. SHE SAID SHE WOULD SEND IT TO ME AND NEVER DID. DIDNT EVEN BOTHER CALING TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAD HAPPEN TO MY PAY ...

I was already with an awesomely awesome temp agency (see Temporary Staffing by Suzanne in NYC) when…read moreI signed up with this one. The AppleOne location in NYC was not very responsive, so I switched to this location. I live in Jersey anyway so why not? They were super friendly. My first meeting with Cristina was great. I loved that she was very straight-forward and immediately started critiquing my resume. I liked what she had to say. The meeting went well and I was feeling optimistic about this place. I was supposed to receive tests by email so they can gauge my skills, but I never received anything. I called...I emailed...still no tests. No responses either. They did contact me with a position not long after our meeting, but I wondered when they were going to assess my skills. Long-story-short, this location actually called me quite frequently with offers, but I didn't accept any of them. They were either too far of a commute and not worth the part-time pay, an unrealistic commute, or they were of work that I specifically said I would not be interested in doing. I felt like they did not listen to me during our initial interview. I felt like they did not remember me when they called me. I felt like they tossed me on some random call list of junk jobs and did not care about my skills or my ability to reach a location. In the end, I was hired by an amazing company that Temporary Staffing by Suzanne had placed me with for temporary assignments. This AppleOne location was very friendly, but I did not feel they had my interests in mind when contacting me. They were kinda useless during my job-seeking period.

I have NEVER in my life thought I would feel so secure with a temp agency, until I was introduced…read moreto Sheila Hargrove-Hendricks. She is the most professional yet honest temp agency staff rep that I have met. And I have dealt with PLENTY of temp agencies INCLUDING Apple One of Wall Street In New York; which wasn't a great experience. Not only did Mrs. Hendricks help me land a position that I was comfortable and prepared for because of my experience, she also gave me confidence that I can be permanent and turn it into my career. Now usually staff agencies, leave you HIGH and DRY after they land you a job. Sheila called me as soon as my shift was OVER, and asked me how was my day, what was it like, and if I was stable and okay with my current position. After thanking her for being concerned, I told her that I loved it and thanked her again. I have never met someone that shows a tremendous amount of CONCERN & CARE like Sheila. And I will forever thank her and promote Apple One of Rochelle Park. The entire staff there is welcoming, Sheila just happens to be there shining star.
