Don't use Robert Half if you applied for Unemployment Insurance and want to temp during the period you're eligible for benefits. They will contest your unemployment benefits and cause your benefits to halt while a long appeal process is conducted. The local offices have no control over this, it is done by the Robert Half corporate office. With so many GOOD employment agencies in the LA/OC area, there's no reason to use Robert Half. Edited to add: Read their response to see how poorly managed they are. I never said the information was based on my own experience with them. And the local offices CANNOT do anything about it, and the corporate office WILL NOT do anything about it, so it's just lame for them to suggest contacting them. I was blamed for losing a client of there's and was told they would NEVER work with me ever again. The fit was so great I was offered a full time role where he even negotiated my contract and benefits. Their team was quick to respond, the receptionists were very kind and helpful in connecting me with Evan. He was also available through email and promptly responded to any inquiries, questions, and concerns I had during these tough times. I had asked for an accounting internship, but they signed me up for data entry, which sounds like accounting (and includes accounting type work when you look it up). But, no, it's literally just filing. I don't think they care about the employees only the clients. Would I recommend Robert half out of all the staffing agencies? Sure. Its not too bad but after a while of being there, I realized that the companies I was paired with treat are not very nice to temps. It seems like the higher the pay the worst it gets. Companies think just because you're a temp they don't not have to provide proper training for their temp employees. Because they believe temps will go above and beyond, figure everything out by themselves, emailing multiple people from depts for one lines barely helpful answers, and to get it done with very little help. It's very harmful and unfair to leave temps to figure out how to run their business. Unless you're a person that is confident with turning in "guess work" and not having it circle back in your face a week later, this place Robert half is for hou . Also, the companies I've been paired with are quite boring and lack diversity . I believe these companies should rreally humble themselves if they can actually get employees to go above and beyond for a long time. Some of the temps didn't seem really happy at the company despite hanging in there. Why should companies hire temps if you're are not going to set them up for a long time of success? Two years ago I did a Skype interview with Dominique, it apparently went well because she called me a couple hours later frantic and sent me on a last minute job at The Long Beach Convention Center which I rushed right over to and worked for 4 hours stuffing goody bags for a vendor. I was never given a timesheet or instructions on getting paid for the work, all inquiries regarding this were ignored. Then several days later I received an email from Dominique stating I was a no show for a gig that I never agreed upon mainly because I was never told about it. Needless to say I gave up on this company until recently I saw similar reviews regarding Dominique and came to the conclusion she is no longer employed here so I decided to give them another chance. I submitted my resume for a position and was promptly emailed by Megan asking if I am still interested in employment, to which I responded right away letting her know yes I am actively looking and asked to setup a time to further discuss. After 2 days with no response I sent another email to Megan as well as Vanessa, again introducing myself and asking for one of them to contact me and now a week later, zero response. I signed up with Office Team over a year ago when I was trying to find work. I was called in and did the whole interview and test and it was all-in-all a great experience. I felt energized and optimistic after leaving. They told me their were 2 jobs they could easily place me in given my great resume and professional manner. Great....right...? Well, I was suppose to get a call, but never heard back. I called but I had a hard time getting a reply back. Finally I get an email explaining the bad news, but they will keep on looking. Okay. I still feel confident after our interview and how well everything went in the initial sign-up. In the meantime, I also looked on my own, as any job seeker should do. And not to toot my own horn, but I'm good. I'm good at interviews and good at what I do, so I get picked up before Office Team could place me anywhere. The company was small and unfortunately jumped the gun on hiring a Personal Assistant and had to let me go because of economic reasons. Again...still no word from Office Team. I let them know I was looking again and provided them an updated resume. The lady was a downer and was impossible to get a hold of. This wasn't the same experience I got when I signed up. It made me feel like I was used. Now that I've been added to their roster, they no longer value me. Almost like a salesman tactic. Once they have your information and business...they no longer are energetic to see or speak to you. So again, I found another job, through a small company in Inglewood and again, the company was hurting financially and started laying people off and of course because I'm new I was let go. So, here I am looking on CareerBuilder updating my profile and resume and sending things out to employers. What I noticed on CareerBuilder was Office Team were linked to a lot of positions that were specific to my job title, so I wondered why I wasn't getting any calls. One day I get a call from an agent with Office team that had no idea I was signed up with them and didn't even have my updated resume. I finally speak to her on the phone and she still wants me to come down and re-do everything all over again....why? I'm already signed up with you guys. My talents and skills didn't diminish and I'm still the same person. She asked me to send her my resume. ?? What? I already sent it to you via email? She said she lost it.? What? How do you lose someone's resume that you were attempting to interview for a possible position? Unless it was just a ploy to add a potential new candidate. I feel they have a QUOTA to fill of new candidates for their corporate clients. So when I asked how she could lose my resume, she became argumentative with interrupting and smart-ass responses. So I swiftly tell her "I've already provided you with all the information you need from me, I'm sorry your level of incompetence is derailing you from doing your job correctly-BYE!" Was it the professional thing to do? Probably not, but you can't expect to be treated a certain way and not expect a reaction. You don't treat people like dirt. I eventually see all these jobs on CareerBuilder today that are specific to my job criteria and no call or email. So I ask to speak to Jenna the District Manager. Jenna is pleasant, but also in a very Office PC way. She's not really compassionate or understanding, she just says the words to rectify the situation. Okay, that's fine. The company is not personable. But why hasn't my resume been updated on my profile? (which she told me on the phone). Yet, the last agent I had a situation with reportedly wrote a long negative review ON MY PROFILE, which is obviously unfair & discriminatory. It's HER side of the story and I'm sure she made herself look like an angel and I'm this disgruntled candidate that went off on her. I'm sure she forgot how she was unprofessional with me and lost my resume. LOL. It's a horrible practice to arbitrarily make comments on a candidates profile without the other side. It has the potential of painting someone as a bad candidate in a biased reply. This is VERY upsetting because THEY have failed me and THEY have been dropping the ball with their unprofessional antics and lazy attitude. My rep hasn't responded for a few days, and this is literally the ONLY avenue of complaint I have. My assignment greatly increased my responsibilities, and when I called my rep (Athena), she said that I was lucky to even have a job. Wait a few MONTHS, ask about a payraise again, because I did an awesome job at the assignment. Get told that Athena hasn't worked there since I last contacted her, didn't realize my rep had completely changed, but fine, whatever, ask for a raise to reflect my greater responsibilities. Get raise. Verbally. No change on the billing to the client (which I process), and no change on my paystub. Contact rep, she says I'll have my backpay given, and the backpay is less than what was promised. No more phone conversations, ask via email what my payrate is supposed to be. Dead Silence. This is a terrible company to work for, and there is a reason employers tend to go to Apple One for better temp staff. If you want to use them to establish connections, that's literally all they're good for. You won't be able to pay bills if you work for them for one assignment, because they won't move you until the client is absolutely done with you, won't give you a deserved payrate increase, and won't communicate with you, AND they expect 2 weeks notice, like you're not temp staff. Literally, I HAVE NO OTHER RECOURSE, and that's why I'm posting a review here. I realize it's unprofessional, BUT SO IS PROMISING A PAYRATE AND NOT FULFILLING IT. read more

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST EMPLOYMENT AGENCY, that I have ever worked with. Everyone knows with temp. agencies you shouldn't get too comfortable. But my experience was different. I first met with the Long Beach Vice President of Accountemps: Jenna Lippert, at an event for my school. Other companies were there for students to network with, but me personally I chose to go with Accountemps. So I just walked up to Jenna and started a normal conversation with her, which led to me telling her how I was seconds away from graduating and was looking for a job. One thing led to another and we exchanged contact information. Let me just say Jenna with her title of leadership as vice president is amazing. When you hear vice president your spine sort of tingles because your looking for a stern or strict person to enter the room. But Jenna is so educated and friendly that she puts you at bay with all the stress that comes with job hunting. We set up an interview for me to meet with her and her colleagues the next day. I showed up and everyone took a liking to me and that following week my phone was booming from all the calls with job opportunities. Sadly there were a few that I did turn down because they conflicted with my school schedule but they still helped me. Kayleigh McCarthy a colleague of Jenna's kept in touch with me via email and phone until they were able to find me a great opportunity after I graduate. These women took the pain out of communication, I mean by far the best company I have ever worked with. I mean they get in touch with you, they don't leave you wondering or waiting for their calls, they even send you text messages. Just to keep in touch with you while on the job. They want to hear about how you're settling in and how you're doing. I am now working part time to hire in an entry level accounts receivable position where I'll gain all the experience I will need to move forward within my career.
