From start to finish this was the best staycation for the current season ! Jamie was stellar! Answering all of our questions promptly prior to arrival . She greeted us when we arrived , brought our cinnamon twist in the morning etc ! The cabin is DEEP in the mountain and adjacent to one other cabin (cabin 1) but not too close . The roads down are a bit nerve wracking but worth it ! You arrive to a welcome note with your naked on the door ! Place is larger than we excepted. Heat was on making it very cozy . Key was in the door already . Incredible views from this cabin , close to communal fire pit ,walking trail , and hot tub / main lodge . read more

IMPORTANT UPDATE!: They now have fantastic Wi-Fi! Woohoo! I am still smitten with this place. It's been 7 years since my first visit and am over the moon about the fact that I get to spend my big 4-0 birthday here. I had the opportunity to pick a vacation anywhere I wanted. I chose Robert Frost Cabins over taking a cruise in the Caribbean in January. THAT'S how much I love it! We picked cabin 6 (Evening Star), which is one of their newer cabins and I'm still here as I write this updated review from their famous "reading nook," overlooking the woods. Everything is exactly as I remember and I honestly felt like I was coming back home. So comfy and cozy! The biggest change that was made is the fact that they now have business class Wi-Fi service, which is huge since my fiancé and best friend are "working from home" during our visit. They have experienced zero interruptions while conducting meetings over Zoom. For us, this is HUGE and will most likely mean we can visit more often since we can stay in contact with the outside world. This also means that they have Netflix now, which is pretty sweet. Pro tip: head to Middlebury and do some grocery shopping as these cabins have literally everything you need to make home cooked meals. We did about $500 worth of groceries (don't shop on an empty stomach, lol) and don't plan on leaving our cabin much. Since they have a full sized fridge, stove, all the pots, pans, utensils, etc., you can rest assured that you'll have it all and won't need to bring anything from home (although we did choose to bring our crockpot). I honestly cannot say enough about this place. You will absolutely love it here if you're looking to leave the stresses of normal life for a bit and just relax. Thank you to Marty and Carol for, once again, allowing us to make more beautiful memories. Years later and we are here with our daughter who wasn't even born when we first discovered Robert Frost Cabins. Now she gets to enjoy Vermont and this magical place with us! read more

Absolutely amazing!!! I don't have enough words to describe our stay here. Marty and Carol were the sweetest most genuine hosts, they made our weekend getaway so special. When we arrived there was a sign on the main path to the cabins wishing us anniversary. We also got the 'romantic getaway' package and were welcomed with a gift basket with wine, chocolate covered strawberries, Vermont cheese and other little goodies. Our cabin was sanitized really well and we felt very safe. The cabin had a beautiful fire place, tv (with an HDMI if you want to link your laptop), a gorgeous porch with a cover from rain/bugs, full kitchen, and a charcoal grill. When we settled in Marty came to greet us and gave us a rundown on the property and things we can do in the area. The property also has a general loft area with a nice upstairs to hang out with games, tv, coffee, etc. A fire pit just outside of it to enjoy s'mores and a hot tub overlooking the gorgeous trees all around. The first morning of our stay Carol dropped off the most delicious cinnamon twists and charcoal for the charcoal grill. That night we texted Marty to reserve the hot tub and he made sure it was sanitized and ready to go before we got there. It was around 6pm and dark, but the hot tub had lights, we enjoyed our drinks and the brisk air, it was really romantic. When we got back to our cabin we grilled up some burgers and had a cozy night in. It was the most beautiful weekend, we definitely will come back here when it's skiing season. Slowly putting in my reviews from our trip but I had to mention how much we enjoyed our lodging. Although, I definitely recommending following the website directions because GPS failed me around the Ripton border. All things considered, this place is a hidden gem. The cabins are absolutely beautiful and we had all the comforts of home. Mud season is pretty brown but the view of the mountains right from our cabin was amazing, especially at dusk. We were very close to Middlebury, and when we weren't following the tasting trail downtown (also recommended), we enjoyed a nice bonfire put together for us by Marty the owner. Next time I'll bring my bathing suit for the hot tub. We also loved the fresh baked cinnamon rolls the first night of our stay. Carol and Marty were great hosts and I hope to go back soon. read more

We scheduled a bachelor party getaway at a McCall cabin through Airbnb but from Frost cabins. When the wedding had to be postponed due to COVID (and therefore the bachelor party), their office refused to refund the full amount of the booking because it was outside of their cancellation policy. Whoever responded had horrible communication, often not responding at all and almost never even answering my question. Airbnb refunded their full amount and left a full refund to the discretion of the property manager. We gave more than 30 days notice and the cancellation was due to no fault of our own. The fact that they are so greedy during such hard times (they had every opportunity to re-rent to someone else for the night of our visit), is absolutely disgusting and they should be ashamed. read more

Came here last week with my dad for some bonding time and had an excellent time. The trip was so nice and relaxing and we both enjoyed ourselves very much!!! As people from Florida we wanted to experience snow and we were so happy we got it. Even though the first night we did get stuck in a snow bank twice. Once on the way to the cabin but a local help us out then helped us find the cabin and then we did it again but thankfully Marty was there to help us the second time and gave us some good advice on what to do if we skidded again (just ease on break and drive slowly) and not to mention made sure we got back up ok after we finished eating at a local restaurant. But after that we completely enjoyed our stay in Cabin Evening Star. The beds were super comfy and really warm and I would love to know what brand that mattress was because that is how good I slept. The living room was so nice and nothing is like sitting in front of the fire place with a book and also taking a nap on the little seat under the window. Nothing is better than how nice a cozy and welcoming the cabin was and how sad when we left because we wished we could stay longer. The hospitality is amazing and we enjoyed how welcoming Marty and Carol were. Overall was had a great time and are planning to come again one day. read more

What a beautiful setting! What a beautiful cabin! The owners have taken great care to anticipate your every need, with thoughtful touches noticed everywhere! We arrived to a personalized welcome sign at our front door, where there were walking sticks provided, on the front porch. Stepping inside, there was a warm glow from the fire...with flashlights & candles at the ready for venturing out after dark. The cabin was both spacious & cozy...a full kitchen, living/dining areas, 2 bedrooms and bath. The window reading nook was so cozy! A lovely picnic basket was waiting for us in the refrigerator (part of the "romance package") with a bottle of locallly-produced wine, chocolate covered strawberries and Vermont cheese & crackers. The screened back porch had a table & chairs, with Adirondack chairs in the grassy backyard. We sat outside after watching the beautiful sunset, and listened to owls hooting throughout the night. The next morning, there was a picnic basket left at our doorstep with warm cinnamon twists...so yummy & they were kept warm. The campfire area had everything you could need, right down to the s'mores fixings. The hot-tub was a treat...especially with robes hanging nearby for our use. Wonderful experience! We were looking for a quiet get-away with the dog that wasn't too far from home but felt far - and had the right combination of nice accommodations, stuff to do and within our budget. RFMC was a perfect choice! The owners were phenomenal from the moment we booked the place. Based on reviews, my family and I decided to stay at the Robert Frost Mountain Cabins as part of our vacation trip to Vermont from New York City. Staying here was the absolute highlight of our trip. The cabin and our overall stay exceeded expectations and the best reviews. It is very apparent by the beauty and condition of the property that Robert Frost Mountain Cabins is a work of love. The cabin where we stayed was absolutely beautiful, in impeccable condition, and was significantly (and surprisingly) more spacious than expected. We only stayed for two nights, but plan to go back and stay for at least a week. My spouse and I traveled with our 2-year old daughter and it was the perfect family get-away. Now when it becomes too hectic at home in New York City, I like to close my eyes and access the memory of the Robert Frost Mountain Cabins, of the rocking chair by the fireplace in the quietness of the night. Let me just start off by saying that the owners, Carol and Marty, are some of the nicest, most accommodating and helpful people you'll probably ever come by. My boyfriend and I just came back from our three day stay in the Peek's Perspective Cabin and it was nothing short of amazing. We had just about made it to Robert Frost mountain cabins but got stuck at the top in some snow and were immediately helped by some locals. One even gave us a ride down to the cabins where we met Marty. Without any hesitation, he got in his truck and pulled my car out for us and put my mind at ease! Walking into the cabin was beautiful and felt so comfortable. Marty had told us that he had built these cabins himself with local wood from the trees of Vermont. It just goes to show the type of pride and love they put into this place. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the cabin itself was immaculately cleaned. The fire place was cozy and the cinnamon twists you receive are delicious! All you really need to bring with you is food (and maybe some booze) because all the necessities are there for you! No cell service however we were fine with that, plus you do have Wifi. It was such a joy staying there and Marty even drove us back down to the main road while Carol and I followed in their truck just so we were safe getting back from the snow. My husband and I had a short "mini-moon" here immediately after our wedding in early October 2016. Carol and Marty made us feel so welcome and special from the start, bringing us a beautiful little basket with champagne and candles, and even changing the marquee on the entrance road to say, "Congrats Kate and Evan." We were so touched by their thoughtfulness. We stayed in Owl's Branch, which felt very private and peaceful, and marveled at the obvious love and craftsmanship with which it was built. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to completely relax by the fire in our luxurious cabin after all of the stress of wedding planning and the emotional exhilaration of the wedding itself. We loved walking the beautiful Trillium Trail on the property, taking advantage of the selection of DVDs available in the Lodge, and using the well-equipped kitchen in our cabin to make some meals together. We look forward to visiting Robert Frost Mountain Cabins again and again over the coming years--it's already a special place for us. read more
