As a Yelp elite, I almost always make sure to look at reviews in advance for any business that I visit, but because I was looking for a Chevy dealership, I simply went with what was closest to me, and I'm glad I did, as I'm seeing a ton of bad reviews but had experienced quite differently today! I had an appointment at 9 AM for an oil change, but also needed them to look into a brake squeak that's been happening for a few years now - it was a squeak that previous mechanics I've used were not able to figure out, so I had wanted to try my luck at an actual Chevy dealership. When I first walked in, I was greeted by Gloria, who was extremely friendly, and made my experience wonderful, so I need to shout her out! My car was ready around 5 PM, and upon picking it up, I did not find that I was overcharged like some of the comments I've read. Gloria had let me know that they were able to fix my squeaky brakes which was amazing, and for around $400 between an oil change, tire rotation, and a brake pad fix, that definitely did not seem like it was breaking the bank.. Since visiting I have not as of yet heard any squeaks coming from my brakes , and overall had a great experience at this business. (thx Gloria, as well as the woman with the glasses and dark hair that I spoke with as I was paying!) - I would recommend and will be returning. read more

I bought my new car from this dealership in 4/22. It was a decent experience. Perhaps because my friend knew the sales person. I brought my new car to the service department 3 months later for its first oil change today. Arrived shortly after 8 am. I was advised it would take about 1.5 hrs during write-up. 2 hours and 45 minutes later, it was done. For an oil change. The mechanic who drove it out told me the reason for the delay was because when he got the car, it was break time so it couldn't be worked on. I wonder how long was the break? Needless to say, I will not be coming back unless absolutely necessary. Horrible experience. read more

Then he played with his keyboard and stared at his screen intently like he was looking for Waldo in a puzzle. My car was serviced at 32,000 miles, and it cost $539, but it was comfortable to drive before the service. I don't know how to maintain it. When I got to 42000km, I went to change the transmission oil. The first one arrived at 7:30 in the morning, and it was almost 11:40. The car came out and told me that there was no tool to open it, my God! Waited four hours and told me I haven't changed yet, and called me three days later, is my time worthless? My family and I have been coming to Robert Chevrolet for over 10 years to lease cars and have never had a problem. Good service and honest sales people. That being said, since they were bought by empire Chevrolet they will no longer honor oil changes and maintenance that they covered under the original lease. I was told that they were instructed not to honor just an oil change which was included and that the new owner was under no obligation to let the customer know. This definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth after such great service over the years. I'll be considering going somewhere else for my next car when this lease is up. read more

This post is for the service department. They are awful. I had a 2020 blazer with low miles on it. Upon servicing my vehicle for something non engine related, they broke the piece and it then fell into my engine. This led to them removing my engine and taking it apart ultimately destroying my car. End of story is car had consistent engine problems after this forcing me into a new car i was not ready to have to buy. They also didnt do any sort of extra compensation nor dod they give me a loaner car for first 5 weeks. Lastly- they also performed and pil change in which a day after picking my car up the first time the light for "low oil" appeared. So i paid for nothing basically. My wife and I went to the showroom (now Empire Chevrolet) to lease "as advertised" 2023 Chevy Equinox LT AWD. The salesman said they had none on the lot and because of a supply issue, we're not expecting any. We were offered a higher model at a higher lease price. When pressured about the bait and switch ad, Ramone, the manager said it was a misprint! Really! Advertised in Newsday and on their own website for at least thread weeks - a misprint? What an upsetting day! I booked my service appointment on-line. I also called to confirm the address and the appointment I had made. I arrived, and after waiting and hour and half, I was told they would not finished the work, they only had 1 serviceman and he was too busy. I pleaded I took a day off from work, why didn't they see my order and reserve enough time? They just brought out the car, and told me to make another appointment for the rest of the work. If I could leave no stars I would. Went in to inquire about their website ad for 2024 Trax and 2023 Trailblazer. Sales rep didn't even introduce himself. Seemed as if he couldn't be bothered. Flat out told us that our payments would be nearly doubling what we're currently paying (though I expected an increase for sure), basically take-it-or-leave-it. I asked about the ad, and he seemed to have no idea what i was talking about. I had to show him the website. He showed me one car, said it was the last one on the lot (for the advertised deal). Coincidentally , while we were discussing, another sales rep came to the desk asking for the key to the car we had looked at. We considered the next model up. And, can you believe that vehicle was no longer available by the time they ran my credit. What are the odds. After running back and forth to Ramon (what's that about?? Eyeroll.) he found another one- THAT ONE HAD BEEN SOLD TOO! The crazy thing: only models of the vehicles I was looking at that DIDNT meet the ad criteria were in stock. I must look like I just fell off the turnip truck. We literally got up and walked out. And Ramon, The Wizard behind the curtain, didn't even bother with us. We were Robert Chevrolet customers, but we definitely won't be going back to Empire- in Hicksville or any location. read more

This was roughly 6 years ago. All we did was return a vehicle when the lease was up. We were moving and wouldn't be near this location anymore. The arrogant salesman behind the desk heard all of this, and instead of understanding he shot up out of his seat, asked me to come outside with him, and violently/haphazardly tried to take the plates off of the vehicle, to the point where he slipped with the screwdriver, and cut his hand cursing and yelling in the lot. People were outside with kids and looking/staring. I asked him what his problem was and he refused to make eye contact and marched inside. I was heated and walked inside to talk to his boss but brought him with me to this salesman. He automatically change his tone to a friendly face that has never met me before. When I looked at him and asked "when I explained to you that we were moving, it would be nowhere close to here you flipped out, cut your hand open like an idiot, and proceeded to act like a fool in the parking lot. Does daddy own this business and you're worried about your inheritance?" He looked like I yanked the words right out of his mouth. Guess so. Spoke to coworkers about this experience over the years and have heard nothing and I mean NOTHING good about Robert Chevrolet. I even had a coworker tell me how they ran his 80 year old mother who is a cancer patient through the gambit for months on end regarding getting her car out of the shop as if she's some 22 year old kid capable of jumping through the never ending hoops of BS. read more

So my trax lease was up and I went in to empire Chevy to see about buying it out. I was already approved and I know my credit isn't great but I was out of work for awhile because of breast issues and needing multiple surgeries. After I was approved to buy my car out with my salesperson with the credit check this man just appeared over the cubicle and started barking orders at me and asked my boyfriend what he does for a living when his name wasn't on the lease or was he co-signing or anything but apparently my boyfriend who has a big bushy beard looks more of a woman than I who like I said had to have surgeries and haven't felt good about myself since then but I guess he looks more like a Michelle than I do. When we went to his office he had my payment options written out in a green marker and the price skyrocketed from what I was quoted. And like I said I know I don't have the best credit but I was out of work for medical purposes. I ended up walking out in tears because this man made me feel small and unimportant and also made a woman that had to have breast surgery feel like I didn't even look like a woman. The next day the manager called me and told me he would help me out and get back to me never heard back but Chevy made sure to do multiple credit checks on me that caused me to have my score tank to even more since they ran it multiple times for days I was being notified. This place is horrible stay away at all costs unless you want to be ordered around and basically made to feel like you don't look like a woman anymore. I cannot say enough good things about the service department! We were travelling to NY for medical treatment and they found and corrected an electrical issue. The service dept was swamped with other customers but none of us were ignored. Kudos to all for a good job (and I don't like dealership service depts). The worst car establishment to ever exist. If they gave you a car for free, you shouldn't take it from them. I've left a negative review in the past and shouldn't have been swayed by the manager Steven to take it down. I leased my car from them brand new in 2018 and have had nothing but problems. After bringing the car in to service these problems MULTIPLE TIMES, it always comes back with new ones. I've had my car for a year and it still has no heat. The salesmen completely ignored us while we were outside looking; then they continued to ignore us when we went inside. After standing there for a couple of minutes without any acknowledgement, my husband approached them to ask for information on 2 cars on the lot that we were interested in buying, a salesman handed him the keys to both cars, and told him to go take a look. Don't even waste your breath coming here. Describing my experience at this dealership as TERRIBLE would be an understatement. The amount of disrespect I endured from the general manager and finance manager is unfathomable. We made the deal and signed the contract and thats when everything fell apart. We specifically asked them not to insure the vehicle as we would do it on our own. We came the following day to pick up the car and we specifically asked them if we need to bring anything with us prior to coming and they said "no, just bring the check." All of a sudden, we need to provide proof of corporation and a copy of another vehicle insured under the same name which we didn't bring with us. They ended up insuring the vehicle under a completely different name when we told them we'd handle it. We asked the finance guy to explain the charges and break it down and he refused to. Some how, the car's price went up by $600 out of the blue. He explicitly told me "get the f*** out of my office" when I called him out on the price increase and thats when the manager chimed in and started cursing at me as well as another sales rep yelling out "don't sell him the car". If I'm dishing out 45k on a vehicle, I have the absolute right to know what I'm paying for. Completely disrespectful, people that act like they're doing you a favor, don't deserve business. At this current time, they're holding my deposit so lets hope they do the correct thing and return the money. read more

Put simply: they wasted my time. I spoke with Crystal (who's only motivation (in hindsight) was to get me in the dealership. I appreciate what her job entails and I'm sure she speaks with many people everyday. However, once I got to the dealership A salesman Sal P. was extremely unhelpful. He made me feel like he was doing me a favor and just didn't want to be bothered - maybe he didn't think I was serious, maybe he was having a bad day? Sal P. told me he would have to work a new deal because Crystal didn't put anything in the computer, (which she promised me she did). Once I gave Sal P. all my personal information he said his boss was gone for the day so he would have to call me tomorrow. Crystal did everything to get me into dealership and when I got there they were ill prepared and couldn't help me at all. A real waste of everyone's time. I don't understand how a dealership could operate with relying on 1 person (the boss) to give information on pricing and promotions. Worst experience of my life. They treated me like I didn't matter when I spend over 75k for a car. They didn't even have the decency to take me out to my new car and show me some of the cars features. After all the signing was done the sales guy handed me the keys and said to me I have to help another customer and walked away from me. The service department ripped me off. I had to get a tire replaced and they charged me 600 for a new tire. I found the same tire for 280 dollars. The guy in service told me why didn't you buy the tire coverage ? I told him I have no idea what you're talking about. He asked me didn't the finance person talk to you about buying insurance for the tires being that they are run flats? This place doesn't care about customers. They take your money and move on to the next victim. I am a chevrolet customer for many years, and always had my vehicles serviced at robert chevrolet without any problems. I brought my car there a few months ago on a saturday for a oil change, I was first in line early in the morning and was turned away being told they do not do oil changes on saturdays without a appointment. I returned during the week without an appointment and they changed my oil no questions asked. I returned to robert chevrolet this friday, first in line again, and was turned away being told they do not do oil changes at all without an appointment. It seems they keep changing their service policies to suit themselves, I wasted a day off sitting in line twice for nothing. Being a customer for at least 7 years, with 2 chevy cars, I am appalled by the lack of customer service. read more

Words can not describe how easy my transaction was at Robert Chevrolet. The employees i dealt with were an absolute pleasure, especially David, the manager of the dealership. He worked the numbers while JC, the salesman showed me the car I was interested in. JC was very thorough, showing me all of the safety features of the car and how to work every knob and button, which I truly appreciated. But what I appreciated even more was the amazing deal David came back with, making sure I got every rebate I qualified for and giving me the fairest price I had got thus far. I was sold. This dealership is professional, as I didn't feel I was being "sold" anything. They definitely didn't push any extras or try to persuade me to purchase something they knew I didn't need. Horrible horrible horrible service!!! Incredibly unprofessional and awful. We had agreed upon a price for a car, sat down ready to sign the contract and noticed the price was increased from the agreed price. When questioned about the "mistake" I was laughed at by Anthony in my face and mocked for catching the mistake. When asked for an apology for the rudeness and LACK OF 5 star service, I was told Anthony was no where to be found. The deal did not go through based on the principal of HONESTY. If this is a 5 start location how can these "mistakes" be made? A computer over sight? I think then your system needs to be updated and I wonder how many others have signed contracts that had these over sights. When I asked for an apology I never received one. This is the quality of service. I do not recommend at all. And would be SURPRISED if I received a call to discuss their in professionalism in this car deal. Buyers beware of the agree upon price and what you sign. Would happily change my review if integrity was shown and a correct apology was given by Anthony. I have an 8 year old Chevy Volt with 135k miles that had the "Service High Voltage Charging System" warning come on. Though the car was out of warranty Robert Chevrolet got me in right away. I was expecting an expensive repair estimate. I was surprised when they said it just needed an update to the software and the diagnostic fee would cover it. I was equally surprised that they didn't try to upsell me services like transmission flushes, wheel alignments and brakes. I have two other makes and those dealers always try to upsell me. Robert Chevrolet is an honest and competent shop and this will definitely factor into the decision of where to buy my next new car. read more

Zero wasn't an option and 1 Star is being too nice but here goes....Absolutely horrible service department and parts department and the lady with the blonde hair who makes service appointments was 100% rude and should be fired along with all the other idiots! Took my car there on 12/30/19 for the recall and because of the check engine light. They fixed the recall but said a part needs to be ordered and should take a week to get there which is fine. We paid 225$ for the part and NEVER heard from them again! We figured with the holiday it may take a little extra time. We called on 1-11-20 and was told the parts department is not open and they will call us to schedule an appointment because the part is in and we thought ok great! So now it's 1-14-20 and I decided to just go there in person and come to find out they received the part on 1-7-20!!! Are you kidding me! Not one contacted us! The part was just sitting there! That is 100% unacceptable! I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE! We took the part and left and they could have cared less! Please save yourself the aggravation and go elsewhere! The place as a whole sucks! We only went there because it's closer to where we live but NEVER and I mean NEVER again! You can never get anyone on the phone either! I went into this dealership as the first dealership my mom and I went into after deciding that it was time to start looking for a new car to replace her 20 year old car. When we walked in, we glanced around before we were greeted by salesman Sal. We explained to him that we wanted to lease and told him that we thought that the Cruze, Spark, or Sonic would be a good fit for us. He said that the Cruze was the only car out of the 3 that lease we'll. Okay, that made the choice easier. He showed us the Cruze and showed us each of the features. The seats were wrapped in plastic so it was a little hard to really get a feel for how the seats were. When we sat back down at Sal's desk and explained that we weren't ready to sign and just wanted to get some information. He explained that leasing programs can change all the time and he couldn't give us any pricing. I figured that this is how it was going to be, but we went to 2 other Chevrolet dealerships(as well as other brands) after and they all gave us an exact price. read more

This is the most atrocious dealership there ever ones. They lie about everything. The refuse to give you rental car for your 60000 2 year old car that's been broken every other week. And you pay for one given for routine maintenance in contract! The service advisors are nasty and rude. special kudos for Joe for that honors. It's actually his second time taking that honors. Made a 10am appointment to get the front camera adjusted. I was willing to pay the mandatory diagnostic fee of $159 for this simple job. After about an hour I asked if it would be much longer. After 2.5 hours - they hadn't even looked at the car yet. So, I left. Unreal how poor a customer experience this was - and how they could leave me sitting there.
