As a result of this, our dog developed an aggressive hemangiosarcoma cancer at that site, and lost her leg and now has a very short life expectancy, perhaps only a few months. The callousness and the ignorance resulting in this devastating diagnosis is unimaginable.

What a very special person is Dr. Leah, a holistic veterinarian. She was recommended to us by a…read morefriend who had just lost a pet, and we needed her services to help our 15-year old dog with end-of-life care. She came to our home, checked out his sad condition, helped our dog get comfortable (eating his favorite snack) and carefully administered a sedation/pain management shot. As he relaxed and breathing slowed, we petted him and spoke loving words as she finished. He passed quietly and with dignity, surrounded by people who loved him. It was sad, yes, but it was not the traumatic kind of passing we've experienced with other pets, This was very different, and we are so grateful for Dr. Leah's caring, knowledgeable ways, Bless her, and bless our now departed Toby. She also provided all of his aftercare including the cremation and return of ashes. Please consider calling her when it is time for your pet to leave. They are very friendly from the moment you walk in. You never seem to wait long for your appointment. Recently I had an emergency where my dogs were in a house fire with tremendous amount of smoke. I have two dogs one was four and the other one was 10 years old. The four-year-old managed to get out of the area of the smoke but my 10-year-old Shih Tzu was blind and ended up being in the room with heavy smoke damage until the fireman went in to find him. My friend took my SHIH TZU to the animal hospital unannounced and they hooked him up to oxygen immediately and kept him for the day for observation. He ended up being fine with the care of the doctors at NewFairfield animal hospital. When it was time to put my dog to sleep the doctors couldn't be more passionate and caring during the process.
