We love our new blinds from Garden State Blinds! They look really nice and were a reasonable price…read morefor the quality. We did three sets of windows and also a slider for the patio door. For two of the windows, we did the faux wood slated blinds, which is style we were familiar with. For our bedroom window, we tried something new, which is the honeycomb cell shade that blocks light and that can be slid from the top down or the bottom up. This is a wonderful feature for the bedroom so that we get the privacy of the lower part of the window being covered, but we're able to let in light and look outside through the top part. Something that really made this company easy to work with is that all the people I interacted with were amazingly accommodating and helpful. Starting with Vito Conforti, the president, and then his son Andrew, who came to our house for the initial consultation and showed me all the different samples and help me pick colors and styles. All the people who answered the phone and did scheduling and answered my questions were polite and helpful and quick to respond. The installer Zach was an impressive young man who worked through a challenging install situation. We had just moved in and a lot of our furniture and boxes were blocking access to the windows and Zach very kindly moved things for me and even help me break down boxes for recycling and stack them up. That is going above and beyond what he came here to do and I really appreciated his help and good attitude. Additionally, they gave us a tin of Dutch shortbread cookies which are my favorite. It's so refreshing do business with an independent family owned company. Everyone here puts all their heart into what they do and this really sets them apart from chain and franchise businesses. If you want blinds for your windows, come here, and I guarantee you will be very happy that you did.

Paul (the owner) came out for an initial consultation, and provided an abundance of information and pictures of what our project end state would look like. The installation was seamless, and given the COVID situation, my wife was especially pleased with the cleanliness of the installation... which isn't always the case with home installation projects (mask, booties, zero cleanup, dust, etc). Furthermore, the quality of the shutters speaks for itself. Would highly recommend!! Thank you Slats and Pleats team for a great all around job.

I had heard so many wonderful things over the years about Gables New York and went to their beautiful gallery for direction and advice. What a warm and professional staff! Jody and Linda helped me choose a lovely fabric to reupholster my two sofas with a fabulous coordinating fabric for the pillows. Jody selected beautiful blinds for my windows along with a gorgeous fabric for the cornices and dining room chairs to be reupholstered! Jim came to my home and meticulously measured and installed window treatments and offered suggestions for lamps and lighting fixtures. Jody even helped me choose my carpet and selected the perfect color paint to tie the entire room together. Susan kept me calm throughout the process when I was feeling overwhelmed and kept me informed on the progress of my order along the way. What an impressive team! As I sit here now on my completely rebuilt and reupholstered sofa and look around this custom room, it's hard to believe that this is my home. I could not be more pleased with the quality of the work, and I can't say enough about this positive experience. I don't know which room I'm updating next but without a doubt - I'm going to Gables!

Customer service at Gables New York Hunter Douglas Gallery is a nightmare. I purchased Pirouette…read moreshades a while back, and they were installed incorrectly--they hit the window sill and never lie flat--yet the store expects me to pay to have them re-cut, even though they took the measurements. I never received the battery charger, and now they say I have to pay for one. One shade is stuck open, I called the studio and the owner, Jody on her cell phone... all went unanswered. I do not recommend this company at all. Beware, they are all nice until their mistakes are noticed... Jody, send me my battery charger that was never delivered with my shades, and I will live with the poorly measured shades and remove this post.
