I purchased Hunter Douglas Luminettes from Mike & Brian Timm. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. It was a pleasure dealing with them. I received three quotes from other companies and Timm's beat all of them and I received a rebate back from Hunter Douglas. None of the other companies mentioned a rebate. Recently scheduled an appt for my windows and was eager to support a local business in manasquan. When Brian and Mike came to my door for an in home appt. I asked them to please put on masks. Not only did they refuse but went on to tell me all the reasons masks were not necessary and they do not wear them. I understand one of them has a medical reason not to but there was no need to attempt to convince me that my mask was ineffective and that they take supplements to protect them from the virus. We must respect everyone's choices regarding covid decisions, but they should inform their customers in advance they will not wear masks when they come to your home. We wasted our time and theirs, promptly called another local company who would observe covid safety measures and in fact had such a message posted on their website. Business owners have a responsibility to their clients to be transparent about their covid protocol, or lack thereof. Very disappointed in Timms window fashions. read more

We have used Timm's 2x now in the past 15 years. They are very expensive. What you get for your money is good quality window treatments, and a professional installation. Why 2 stars? Our first time using them we bought really nice Plantation shutters. We rehired them this past winter and spent about 7k on new blinds. We asked them to fix the Plantation shutters. The magnet keeping them shut was no good. Nothing major. They said sure. Came to install the blinds, blew if off. Came back for something they had left, told us no time to fix it, they were going on vacation. My wife and I have called several times, blew us off. Brought the remote for one of the blinds, still couldn't do it. They had the nerve to ask for a review in the middle of this process, and were not happy when we told them not until they finished what they promised. I had Timms Window Fashions install some wood blinds in our house about ten years ago. After reviewing my choices at their store, the owners Mike and Brian came and measured everything up, made some great recommendations and were careful to take their time to answer all of my questions. We have a lot of woodwork throughout our home and they matched up the colors of the blinds perfectly with the existing trim around the windows. The installation was flawless and the blinds look amazing even after all these years. Having the wood blinds in all of our windows has added such a feeling of warmth and continuity throughout our home, we absolutely love them. Recently we went back to Timms to get a window treatment for our back door. They recommended a cordless honeycomb shade and again we experienced the same level of personalized attention and professionalism that we had in the past even though it was just one window. In an age where so many of our services are done by large impersonal businesses, it's quite refreshing to deal with a family owned business that is does such an amazing job. Beware of going in there if you are anywhere under the age of 20, because somehow they think that anyone young is incredibly interested in stealing the $3.00 items in their store. I went in with my friends and got accused of stealing (which he had to apologize for after we dumped our bags out right on the counter which-viola-nothing from his store in them), and when my aunt when in the store they gave my 7 year old cousin a complete glare. Even if you are somehow able to escape that wrath, the staff is probably the most rude and unhelpful people I have ever met in my life. Trust me, if you want their merchandise there is Jesse's (right down the street) and even Gee-Gees. read more
