Rob Wiley, P.C. - Dallas, Texas June 12, 2026 I would give zero stars if that were an option. I contacted this firm during one of the most difficult periods of my life. After losing my job, my income was cut exactly in half. I was struggling to pay my bills, facing bankruptcy, and doing everything I could to support my family. At the time I reached out, I was seeking legal guidance regarding what I believe were serious employment-related issues. I explained that there were already two EEOC matters under investigation, an FMLA-related matter under review, and that I had reached out to the offices of Congressman Keith Self and Congresswoman Stephanie Bice regarding my concerns. I was hoping to find legal guidance and someone willing to listen to the circumstances I was facing. Instead, I left feeling disappointed and discouraged. The interactions felt cold and transactional rather than understanding or supportive. Being asked to pay $250 for a consultation felt unreasonable given my circumstances. I explained that I was financially devastated, struggling to feed my family, unable to afford all of my bills, and having difficulty paying for both my diabetic medications and mental health care because my income had been cut exactly in half. What frustrated me most is that this was not a one-time interaction. Every time I contacted the firm, I came away with the same impression. Rather than feeling heard or understood, I felt brushed aside. My family ultimately needed public assistance, and I was forced to file bankruptcy. No one is obligated to take a case, but treating people with compassion costs nothing. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. What disappointed me most is the contrast between the firm's reputation and how I felt I was treated. The firm has accumulated impressive accolades, including Best Lawyers, Best Law Firms, Super Lawyers, a 10.0 Avvo rating, and Board Certification in Labor and Employment Law. Those achievements may be impressive on paper, but awards mean very little to someone struggling to feed their family and seeking help during one of the most difficult periods of their life. This has unfortunately been a recurring theme with many of the attorneys I've contacted. Because of that, I've started reaching out to firms outside of Texas in hopes of finding someone willing to listen before discussing the price tag. At this point, my faith in attorneys has been seriously shaken. I've spent countless hours gathering documents, records, exhibits, correspondence, recordings, and supporting evidence. Because of the volume of evidence I've assembled, I'm increasingly considering representing myself rather than continuing to search for someone willing to hear me out. I walked in believing in truth, justice, and the American way. I walked out feeling like greed had won the day. Absolutely unprofessional and misleading experience. I paid $250 for a consultation that was represented to be with Mr. Rob Wiley himself, that was confirmed multiple times by Clara Mann, the firm's intake coordinator. Only after paying and preparing all of my materials did I discover that I was instead being handed off to another attorney named Cassidy, who was clearly unprepared, disengaged, and unfamiliar with my intake information. Cassidy interrupted me repeatedly, displayed very little understanding of my case, and within minutes told me representation would require a $10,000 retainer completely out of context for what was supposed to be a paid consultation to review the merits of my claim. The entire conversation felt perfunctory and dismissive, as if the goal was to upsell or rush me off the phone, not to genuinely assess my situation. When I called the office afterward to clarify what had happened, Clara Mann abruptly hung up on me: no apology, no explanation, nothing. Later she told me that if I wanted to speak directly with Mr. Wiley, I would need to pay another $250. That is beyond unprofessional. It is unethical and exploitative, especially after the firm's own employee confirmed multiple times that my initial payment covered a meeting with him. To make matters worse, she then directed me to complete a "survey" to request a refund. A survey is not a refund process, and it does nothing to correct the misrepresentation or disrespect I experienced. A reputable employment law firm should value honesty, transparency, and basic professionalism especially when dealing with people who are already in vulnerable legal situations. This office failed on all counts. The lack of communication, false representation, and total disregard for client trust were shocking. If this is how Rob Wiley P.C. treats prospective clients, I can only imagine how they handle actual cases. I would strongly urge anyone considering this firm to look elsewhere. Prior to booking my consultation, I verified their fee structure twice with their scheduling coordinator. After confirming the contingent fee percentage, I paid my consultation fee, and an appointment was scheduled for me to speak with one of the attorneys. During my interview the attorney was extremely personably and knowledgeable; however, I was taken aback when he quoted me the contingency fee PLUS a sizable non-refundable flat fee. Later when I asked the scheduling coordinator about it her response was that the attorneys had the option of charging an hourly rate, flat fee, a contingency or a hybrid. Had this been known to me prior to scheduling, I most likely would not have scheduled the consultation. With the flat fee, the contingency fee and expenses, the amount due to Rob Wiley PC would have been closer to 50% (in my instance). I understand trying to manage your risk, but I do think the scheduling coordinator should have been upfront about it. read more

Disappointing Experience with Austin Campbell @ Rob Wiley, P.C. Law Firm. I recently had the unfortunate experience of engaging with the Rob Wiley P.C. Law Firm in pursuit of resolving a discrimination and retaliation case against a government entity from which I was wrongfully terminated. Regrettably, my encounter with the firm left much to be desired, prompting me to share my opinions and personal experiences here. Despite an initial investment of a $7,000 retainer for efforts to obtain private mediation with Respondent, my interactions with the firm (over a 5 month-ish period) were marked by minimal engagement and a lack of communication. I initially presented my case to their partner attorney, Deontae Wherry. He was engaged and I could sense empathy in the dialogue I had with him. Unfortunately, after signing the contract, the handling of my case by Austin Campbell, to whom I was predominantly delegated, raised significant concerns about the firm's commitment to prioritizing and understanding the complexities of my situation. Communication breakdowns were evident at the beginning of the case interview process. I spoke for about 90 minutes with Austin to provide my case timeline and answer his questions. Unfortunately, I never felt I was being heard. Attempts to share my perspective were repeatedly cut off in order to fill out what I believed was a form template (very junior). I raised these communications concerns with Deontae & a meeting was called. The firm verbally addressed my concerns, but the promises made during a group meeting with the partner attorney yielded no tangible improvements. I was relegated to the back seat while the process was supposed to be moving forward. At the conclusion of my engagement with the firm, I reviewed Austin's activity statement. It appeared to me that logical actions, such as a reach-out phone call to Respondent's attorney's office, and communication with the EEOC was also minimal. When the Respondent provided a position statement, I was only briefed on high-level positions the Respondent took, without seeing the actual pretext response document. The revelation of false statements and omitted key facts in the Respondent's position statement, obtained through a FOIA request after the firm terminated my contract, was deeply troubling. Had I been informed of the entirety of the Respondent's position, I could have provided crucial documents & complete evidence for consideration, potentially altering the course of my case. The construction of a weak lawsuit covering only 2/3 of my charges, coupled with the lack of proactive communication, underscored the firm's apparent disregard for the complexity of my case. It seems that, in their pursuit of lucrative cases, the firm neglects those with less monetary potential. The frustration stemming from irregular updates, inconvenient timing of calls, and the necessity to navigate a call center to reach Austin right after he called me, reflects a systemic issue in client prioritization. It appears that the firm is content with collecting retainers and undertaking minimal efforts, particularly for cases deemed of low priority. Overall, my personal experience with Austin and the Rob Wiley P.C. Law Firm has left me thoroughly disappointed. This opinion of disappointment is rooted in what I perceived to be a lack of effort, unwillingness to comprehend the intricacies of my case, and the absence of value for the retainer fee lead me to advise against choosing this firm. Furthermore, I don't feel Austin fully explored all legal avenues & challenged the Respondent as much as a lawyer would have if they had the best interests of their clients in mind. Don't bother reaching out to this law firm. I paid for the consultation and was told I get one follow up call, via Deontae D. Wherry. I asked, if I call and it's urgent, when should I expect a reply, he said usually within that day. I called on three different dates expressing the urgent nature of my follow up call with Deontae starting on 9/28/2023. Today's review is posted on 10/13/2023. I have yet to hear back from anybody at this firm. Thanks for taking my money during the consultation and not following up. How could anybody trust you? This company is a Bait and Switch. Receptionists are like sales robots. Detached from the client and dedicated to collect the consult fee. I did pay as I was referred by the State Bar and their company website clearly stated they were qualified to handle all my issues. Paid $250 for a 45min consult. Filled out an intake form PRIOR to the consult which I documented my specific issues. Once I got on the phone with the attorney within 25 minutes it was clear to both of us, he could not help me. We concluded together he was only looking for one issue, which I did not document on the intake form. Clearly the only issue he was looking for would have had the greatest compensation for their firm. ZERO refund was given. This consult and payment should have never happened. read more

Stay away! They will rip you off so hard. They didn't not know, understand, or even research the pertinent laws that applied to my case. I paid nearly $8,000 for a case they told me several times had merit. They told me the state entity I was suing had violated the ADA, CARES Act, and FMLA laws. After a year and a half, the state entity I was suing pointed out to these attorneys that the state entity was actually immune to my exact type of law suite. The other party filed one court response pointing out a constitutional law (amendment 11) that simply disqualified my case, which was promptly dismissed by the judge. I can't believe these attorneys (Rob and Austin) didn't even know or research the basic laws in the United States Constitution as they pertained to my case. They also have refused to repay any refund for their errors even though they should have known at the initial consultation that my case would fail and had no merit. They just lead me on to believe I had a meritorious case so they could generate work for themselves and take my money. read more

Although Mr. Wiley is knowledgeable regarding complex details of the law, in my case I felt there wasn't adequate support provided. He'd prior to the case beginning stated I had a very good case to go forward, he ended up delivering way short of his promise. First mistake was sending me to one lawyer, who ended up moving, another lawyer, who ended up leaving, and finally to a third lawyer who still got nothing accomplished, all while Mr. Wiley was 100% aware of me being jerked around due to issues out of my control; that's correct, wasting over 9 months going to 3 different lawyers, and nothing good coming out of it. In fact in my meetings with him he was so confident my case would get a reasonable monetary settlement, he didn't even bother looking at additional evidence, which I specifically offered knowing he might need for a stronger case. Of course the confidence only laid in the fact that he'd previously made settlements with the employer according to his own word, but when time came to bargain i.e. use skills in law school to negotiate, he wasn't able to deliver in what I'd call 'epic fail' and instead I get a call from his junior lawyer (the 3rd one mind you) that he couldn't settle the case. So there goes the $3,000 retainer fee for bringing no help, after assuring a settlement of high 5 figures / 6 figures would be highly likely. Over promise, under deliver, that's the motto and you'd be wise to avoid the firm. read more
