AMS law group made a mistake when looking over these documents and said it was a custody case and even tried to convince me my own court documents were something other than what they actually said. I believe thats why gave me an outraegous number much larger than what I was told a simple document like that would be. They thought it was a much different case but if they simply read the papers I handed over they would've seen it was a Chapter 35 hearing set for Oct 5th.. nothing to do at all with custody and that was on purpose so things could be smooth and fast so my grandson can go to the doctor and school. During earlier conversations, I believed the amounts being discussed referred to reductions in medical bills rather than the actual amount I would personally receive from the settlement. Unfortunately, this misunderstanding was not clarified until much later in the process. I was also uncomfortable when a recording of our phone conversation was provided as proof of my acceptance of the settlement amount, as it felt dismissive of my concerns rather than an effort to clarify the misunderstanding. Additionally, I was told that the attorney would look into the possibility of reducing the attorney fees since I would still be responsible for several thousand dollars in hospital bills. However, I never received a clear follow-up regarding whether that discussion took place or what the outcome was. While some staff members were responsive and professional, improved communication and greater transparency would have made this experience significantly less frustrating. Such as informing me there were liens from medical bills before the settlement was finished. As this was the second time I had retained this law firm for an auto accident matter, I reasonably expected the process to be handled in a manner similar to my prior contact. Based on my experience in this matter, I do not feel comfortable recommending this firm to family members or friends at this time
