Avocado Toast with Eggs Over Easy
    Cris M.

A breakfast lovers dream with a side of scrumptious coffee! This place is such a gem! The atmosphere gives you the feeling of being inside an upscale coffee roastery. A wide selection of breakfast items to choose from that leans towards southwest flavors. They also offer simple dishes like avocado toast. All quite delicious and a great place to get some work done, meet for a coffee date or enjoy the small town vibe!

Solid 4 stars! For the price, the food options are good. It's nothing fancy, but the bacon is crisp and the food comes out hot. My meal was missing artisan bread and they were apparently out of potatoes because they subbed the red potatoes for hash browns. It's fine, but I would've appreciated a heads up. I was full so didn't push the toast/bread, and the cappuccino was good enough to distract me. We did have to avoid one seating area due to a lot of flies, but I understand it's an uphill battle. They have a bug zapper on the wall in the back. Service was decent and the finishes inside were cool. Check out the growler light fixtures at the bar.

Boys shared a blueberry pancake (perfect for two kids) I got the scramble which was amazing and the hocus pocus chai!!!

Food is really amazing!!!! So is the hocus pocus late!! I would give it 5 stars if it was child friendly. So for those of you without kids this place is great (as long as you're not in a rush). With kids I'd give it like 3 stars because the food and ordering took a while. They didn't have much staff so the front of house was doing tons of different jobs. Luckily we brought some snacks with us. It looks like a mix between an old brewery and coffee shop. They have a little shop area to buy coffee and such and a bar for extra fancy adult drinks. It was nicely decorated for Halloween. My guess is their "target crowd" are any age without kidddos... Would we come back (even with the kids)? Yes.... We would just plan ahead and have one person come order ahead of time while another played outside with the kiddos around town. Again the food and drinks were wonderful!

First time trying out this coffee shop and I really like the Drooling Moose latte. I can be picky with my espresso but they nailed this one. I do think I visited on a day where they were short staffed because there was only one server running around who was also the cashier, however she was really holding it down!

Great coffee and friendly people. The bread pudding French toast was crazy good. They roast their own coffee and brew beer here apparently. Anyway if you're in town for the dunes or whatever and need a good breakfast beforehand I'd definitely come here.

The Roast Cafe was a cool vibe in a small college town. We had breakfast and coffee. Both were excellent. Staff was friendly and bright. They have a cool concept of breakfast and bar service. Good place to stop. Almost made me want to go back to college.

Huevos rancheros with green chile and avocado

I enjoyed gluten free huevos rancheros with green chile and my husband loved the burrito. The coffee was excellent as was the service. We enjoyed the outdoor table and will stop by again next time we are passing through.

    Such a cute aesthetic

Genius idea for a small town place. Stopped here on our way to Great Sand Dunes NP. The drip coffee is great: smooth, delightful. I ordered the breakfast burrito smothered in the green chili pork. I was surprised by two things: it was cold and flavorless. I'm not even sure how that happens, but, alas, it was both. My friend ordered the quesadillas and it, too, was sorely lacking in any kind of flavor. My other friend ordered hard fried eggs and they came out runny. The waitress was quick to resolve the problem and brought her new eggs to order. The service really is good, but maybe breakfast isn't their strength?

The amount of avocado in their "avocado and egg toast". It was mainly tomato!

I never thought anyone could mess up avocado toast. Felt absolutely robbed. My wife's "scrambled egg" with her's was omelette. Tea was tepid and therefore tasteless.

We had such a great experience at San Luis Coffee Company!…read more My husband and I were passing through on a road trip from Costa Mesa, California and stopped in for breakfast after reading the reviews. I'm so glad we did! What we loved: * Friendly, welcoming owner and staff. * Excellent coffee. * Freshly made panini sandwiches. * Homemade pastries. * Clean restroom. * Fun local folk art throughout the café that gives the place such a great community vibe. What we ordered: * #1 Turkey Pesto Panini: Absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and made to order. It also came with a bag of chips and a large pickle, which was such a nice surprise. * Cherry turnover: Flaky, buttery, and filled with plenty of cherry filling. * Strawberry rhubarb pastry: Just as delicious. The perfect sweet treat with our coffee. I also wanted to mention that I respectfully disagree with the review that called this place "just okay." I've eaten at cafés all over the world, and this didn't feel or taste average to me at all. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and thoughtfully prepared. You can feel the love that goes into running this place. Whether you're a local or just passing through San Luis Obispo, I would absolutely recommend stopping here. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town!

Not only do they brew some of the most delish coffee, but they also sell the beans. I judge coffee by the taste of a cup of ground black coffee, nothing else. This coffee is rich in flavor and has a smooth finish. It makes you want to enjoy the view outside while listening to your favorite musicians. This place also sells artwork by local artists which I love. You definitely want to get here early so you have time to try one of their fresh baked goods. They go fast so plan ahead. Oh, and the best thing is that when you get home to wherever home may be, you can contact them and order their coffee beans to be shipped to you. You will never meet sweeter people than the ones in this coffee shop

When we arrived, however, the aroma of a barbecue restaurant across the street convinced us to eat there instead, so we stopped in here for drinks only. I ordered a flight of six craft beverages , and all were above average. My favorite was the blackberry cider, which stood out for its excellent flavor and balance. I also appreciated that the beers were locally crafted and that the brewery offered a seasonal selection of specialty brews. We arrived right when they opened at 11:00 a.m., so the atmosphere was quiet and uncrowded. While the service was adequate, it lacked enthusiasm and did not leave a lasting impression. On a positive note, both the taproom and restrooms were clean and well maintained. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would recommend this brewery as a pleasant stop for a locally crafted drink. Fun fact: Alamosa, located in Colorado's San Luis Valley, is known for experiencing some of the coldest nighttime temperatures in the state due to it's location in the valley and unique geography.

We got the pretzel as an appetizer.... The pretzel was greasy and so was the cheese they gave with it. The cheese seemed frozen, then microwaved. It had a really dull/greasy taste and odd texture. The French dip was like rubber. And the au jus sauce was bland. For her the best part was the side salad. She even said her beer had an odd taste to it. My chicken sandwich had no flavor. The red potatoes where severly over cooked on the outside and under cooked on the inside. My drink (the house black cherry cream soda), was really good the first glass! Second glass was flat and very syrupy. The server briefly came by a couple times. He would quickly ask "everything ok?", as he rushed by. He wasn't horrible, but he wasn't great either. Overall we where very unimpressed. Not somewhere we'll be returning to. For the price, I had better expectations.
