Roaming Rooster is truly a winner--winner, chicken dinner! I'm so glad I finally had the chance to try Roaming Rooster while I was in D.C. I stopped by for breakfast, and it wasn't too busy. The restaurant was clean, with plenty of seating available if you wanted to dine in. The cashier was helpful and friendly. I chose the honey butter chicken biscuit with a side of tater tots. The food was made to order, hot, and fresh. The chicken was moist and juicy, the biscuit was soft and buttery, and the tater tots were crispy. The honey butter melted in my mouth. I enjoyed every bite, right down to the last one. I can't wait to visit D.C. again; maybe next time I'll add some spice to my meal. Be sure to check them out!

Let's talk about the chicken sandwich's! They are amazing, mouth watering, extremely flavorful, and very memorable. It was so good had it back to back over the course of a week. The spice level is ASTRONOMICAL! If you can't handle spicy food get the mild so you can enjoy the sandwich. Service was really nice- each time I went everyone was kind and helpful. They have a breakdown of the menu and helped me pick the best sandwich. Ambiance was cute- it's small but inviting. Had games playing on the tv and the windows were open and allowed for fresh air to come in. There was also seating available outside and access to the restroom.

Stopping by this place was an absolute coincidence. Husband and I were looking for a good place to eat dinner, and we always crave Nashville hot chicken when we are home (Hampton roads). When we are in the DMV, we always find an excuse to get our hands on some. We drove past the location, and were immediately reminded of how hungry we were. We walked in, and ordered two sandwiches. I ordered mine with everything on it. This is the first time that I have ever loved coleslaw on a sandwich this much there were slices of jalapeño, mixed in and pickled onion. The flavor combination was unlike anything I've ever had before. I will say that this place does not have any parking other than the shoulder parking in the front of the building. Which is very limited especially on a busy day. So be prepared to park ways away. This places is always busy, and for good reason. They're pretty quick at busting out orders.

4.5 out of 5 stars. Found this place on a Instagram video talking about the three best chicken sandwiches in the DMV area. Really great cut, 2 actually, of chicken breast and nicely cooked. Be aware that there is no sauce on the sandwich, it is more of a dry rub but really tasty. The house-made slaw and pickles were a nice compliment as well on the sandwich that I had. Surprisingly, the twice fried fries were the weak link. They were not seasoned very well and did not taste twice fried at all. Actually the exact opposite. They should've been kept in the fryer for longer as mine were very mushy, not crunchy at all.

Ohhhh honey! Go treat yourself to a honey butter fried chicken sandwich. I mean look how generous they are with the chicken. Got a side of their popular dipping sauce honey butter.

This was my second time eating roaming rooster. I loved them. The portion is so worth the price! My sandwich was soooo filling and the fries are perfectly crisp. My wife and I could barely finish our sandwiches and barely put a dent in the huge serving of fries! The chocolate shake is the right texture and creaminess, it paired very well with the food. The location doesn't have much parking but if you're anticipating to pick up in go it's the perfect location. The seating inside is limited but has a great layout. I can't wait till my next visit to DC

Conditional 5. I love Roaming Rooster back from its food truck and NE days, so I'm always ready to try out any location that gets even closer to me. Can't believe there's one literally on my street now. It's a tiny strip for sure with only street parking - try some of the off roads, but once you're inside it's hella clean and franchised compared to other locations. Big tip - I recommend ordering ahead on ToastTab since you can directly pickup when you get there. Otherwise it's maybe a 10-15 minute if you're lucky alone, perhaps hours if you reach peak crowds. The chicken is solid as always - definitely my favorite take on hot chicken. My go to is the salad option with jalapeño slow, but sandwiches are what they're known for. The slight disappointment I have is from the buns. Not sure if it's this location alone or a side effect of Roaming Rooster's general expansions - but the buns felt cheaper. You can see in the pics it's a general hamburger bun - it just tastes cheap compared their older days, and brings it from a 11/10 to 8/10 for me. That said still the best fried chicken sandwich in price and taste. Compromise be damned, everyone should try this at least once.

Accepts both cash and credit card. Also does delivery (UberEats, etc) After hearing all the buzz about their chicken, I decided to give this place a try. We ordered their famous hot Nashville chicken sandwich and their Honey Butter chicken sandwich. You can select your spice level from none, mild, medium , hot and extra hot. For the honey butter sandwich, I ordered their mild version. For the Nashville style sandwich, we ordered the medium and hot spice level. In my honest opinion, the mild is very mild. Not much flavor. The medium spice level gives your tongue a little tickle. Has a tiny kick with each bite. The Hot spice level is pretty hot. Not painful spicy, but the spice level does pick up with each bite. When you take your first bite, you hardly recognize the spice level. However, give it a minute or two, and you will feel the spice level increase. And with each bite, the spice in your mouth with gradually get hotter. The medium spice is equivalent to eating kimchi spice level. The Hot spice level is much hotter than that. In terms of quality of the sandwiches, they were really good. The chicken itself is not thick, but there are several pieces of chicken and the chicken is very flavorful. The butter honey chicken was okay. It really does look good in a picture sense. However, I was not too much of a fan of this. However their Nashville chicken was delicious. Comes with veggie slaw and pickles on the sandwich. It's good. In terms of cost, that's the factor that is bothering me. Each sandwich starts at $10 which is a bit on the pricey side. Also they do sell chicken tender $9ish for 3 tenders. Overall, the food is good. Quality is good. It's a bit expensive, but it's tasty. Probably worth checking out once in a while.

Excellent. New location is firing on all cylinders right off the bat. Club sandwich was excellent and fries were crisp, even when delivered.

Eaten fresh at the gas station, the chicken was still steaming after I took my first few bites. I ordered it "spicy" and it was just the right level for me. Like Roaming Rooster's honey butter chicken sandwich, Nash and Smashed's also has cheese in it, which I think overpowered the honey butter oozing from the top of the chicken. The chicken itself, though, was delicious and juicy. I got a side of their creamy signature sauce in the bag, but I did not really need it since there was already plenty of sauce for me inside the sandwich. It probably would have gone well with their waffle fries had I gotten them. The sandwich alone was enough to fill me up. A big reason for me coming to Nash and Smashed was a 3.99 deal for the Oh My Thigh chicken sandwich that they advertised on their Instagram page. I was bummed to learn this location was not doing it. This gas station version of their menu didn't even have that chicken on it, so the worker had no idea what I was talking about. Just a warning if you see any deal on their social media page. There's stool seating on the side with a lovely view of the gas station and Connecticut Ave out the window. There was enough room for four to five people. Another comparison to Roaming Rooster, the chicken sandwich prices are a little cheaper than RR's. Only a few menu items sound similar, but Nash and Smashed has a larger selection of burgers, chicken buckets, sides, and drinks. FWIW some guys next to me raved about their hamburgers, especially the sauce.

I loved the ambiance of the restaurant; it felt great, and everything appeared very clean. The staff member who took my order was helpful. Since I hadn't been there in a while, I asked for some recommendations. I ordered the veggie wrap and fries, and the veggie wrap was delicious! I was not asked how I wanted the wrap prepared, but the standard toppings were delightful, especially the pickled onions. The fries were also quite tasty. Additionally, my order included grilled chicken and fries. After some insistence, I tried a piece of the perfectly grilled chicken, which fleetingly tempted me to start eating chicken again. Since a few people were waiting ahead of me, the wait was a bit long. The restaurant wasn't very crowded, but customers waiting for their orders along with food delivery pickups created some disorganization in the kitchen. One customer kept complaining about the wait, so the manager eventually came from the back to assist the line staff with packing orders. The food was so good that it was worth the wait! I am looking forward to visiting Nando's again soon.

We have meant to visit Macon for a while, and we are so glad we finally did this beautiful weekend!…read more For starters, we had Essies biscuits and onion soup. The biscuits were delicious, but a bit expensive for the size and amount (4 total). The onion soup was perfectly cooked and delicious. It had a nice amount of cheese and bread, great broth, right amount of onions. Drinks were a glass of wine (which was quite overpriced, in our opinion) and cider from Wyndridge which I really enjoyed and will get again upon our return. For dinner we had the rockfish and the braised short rib, and a side of Mac and cheese. The rockfish was cooked very well, with great flavor in the spices and the sauce. However, asparagus or another vegetable, and quinoa added would have rounded out the dish. It was a small portion. The braised short rib was an amazing dish - you didn't even need a knife to slice it. It literally fell apart. The flavor was also excellent. I'll definitely get this again. The biggest disappointment was the Mac and cheese. I didn't think it was that cheesy, and it had an odd spice (maybe red pepper?) that didn't work for me. My boyfriend liked the flavor but agreed it needed more (or even a stronger) cheese. Service was great! Overall, we enjoyed our time and will return.
