I had no where else to write what occurred today and this needs to be shared!! I am so very angry right now. Ordered a part (alternator) for our only vehicle from their site at 12:00 noon on 1/3/22 for next day delivery. Mind you, the item is housed per their website less than 15 miles away from us (in Mechanicsville). I placed a call to the customer service dept and was told the "hub" closed at 5pm yesterday due to weather. Was told the item now wouldn't be delivered until 1/5. I stated this is unacceptable. I ordered at 12 noon. If fed ex picks up at 9 pm central time, why wasn't the item put out by auto zone so it could be taken by fed ex for next day delivery as promised?? What'd I get?? Apologies. That's it. Well my son has COVID, high fever and this is our only vehicle. No way to get to the grocery store and I wouldn't want anyone to take me as I've been in the house with him. I depended on getting that item AS PROMISED. I even said it's less than 15 miles from me. Suggested perhaps they could deliver it to me as it's fairly close. You'd have thought I suggested they give me a million dollars. Smart ass supervisor. Advance, NAPA, or O'Reilly's will get my business from now on. I don't care if it's more expensive. But on the evening of March 22, 2025 I was the recipient of exceptional, very exceptional service. Lazy Saturday it was until my teenager made the distress call- car not starting. Drove to her location and jump started her car then drove straight to Advanced Auto - short pump. Exceptional patient understanding service is what I received as I explained the situation. Team member was responsive enough to provide me with a much better battery than the.one.in.the vehicle. And the AA team was just beginning. I was in for a real treat when Mr Carroll wheeled out his tool cart and got to the new battery installation. I have been on several ends of auto personnel treatment- mostly different when i am with a 2024 year vehicle than with an older vehicle. As a matter of fact, in another automobile workshop I was told, boldfaced and all, that nothing could be done for my older vehicle. A statement I would file away as I, carefully, stayed clear of that shop - with the newer vehicles and same older vehicle they'd written off. 7years after that remark, the vehicle is still running okay. So Mr Carroll installed this battery meticulously. Not just dumping it in but carefully tightening the terminals, ensuring snug fitting, applying anti-corrosives and yes wait for it...ensuring that there was no red battery light on the dashboard after installation. Thank you team AA short pump. Thank you for being consumate professionals. This evening, by your unplanned actions, I have passed the AA baton to my teenage daughter. You have a new customer.

I was an hour and a half from home and I called a few local parts stores. The people at the Car Quest on West Broad Street in Short Pump came to my car, checked to see what parts were needed, went back to the store, and came back with the part. Alan (spelling?) went out of his way to help me, by putting the part on the car for me and explaining what he did and why. This was not something that the company normally does, to my knowledge, but it was so kind. It was myself and two other young ladies (daughter and granddaughter), we were in a though situation being so far from home, but Alan and the people of Car Quest really did a good deed and went out of their way to help! I offered to pay him for fixing it right there, but he refused to take any money and I was only charged for the part. I wish I could do something to show my appreciation to Alan, so I thought writing a review would be a good idea. Thank you Alan and the managers/workers at CarQuest in Short Pump. You good deed and it did not go unnoticed! I will certainly pass it on!

When I declared that the cost of replacing my tire versus patching my tire was not in the budget after texting me that my tire couldn't be fixed--they kicked me out the door and didn't inflate my tire to a level that I could drive off. When I arrived I explained my situation and they weren't sure they were going to get me in since it was late Sunday afternoon and they closed at 6p. But, they were able to squeeze me in, and after driving my car, Artie said he could not let me get back on the road with that tire. He replaced the tire and got me back safely on the road. Dylan was so helpful and caring that he even wanted me to call him the next morning to make sure that I got to Maryland safely. I highly recommend this Pep Boys!
