I am a QS for a london based company. Ive rented through RMA Properties twice during my post grad studies at Oxford University. Seems so long ago! lol
The company had friendly staff, receptive, and were comprehensive with there dealings of any and all matters.
From my experience in the property sector in London, i beleive that RMA and several other agencies in OX4 OX3 are doing the right things by tenants. Espeacially at the point of booking when the tenancy and relationships are outlined.
How tenants, landlords, and agents interact with one another thoughout a tenancy, is the key to a good service between a middle man, i.e agent, and the customers, i.e landlord and tenant.
An agencies services and tenants obligations are a simple set of boundaries tha should be outlined and adhered to from day1.
When you have a breakdown in services, its normally down to a breakdown in communication between all parties. which leads to things not getting done.
Moral: choose a company thats transparent with their charges and services and clear about whats required and how common issues will be dealt with. Then hold the agency and the landlord accountable.
thats how the best companies work. Its not rocket science, but bloody annoying when it goes wrong.
Read through the reviews on this agency and was suprised. isolated cases me thinks. Otherwise i think RMA are good.
I also found Colloge and County alright. read more
