- didn't have my key on check-in day; was told to "wait in a coffee shop for a few hours" with all my belongings while they "looked for" it. the staff i dealt with behaved like this was a totally normal request, giving absolutely no apology. when asked for assurance that i would be moving in that day i was told they couldn't make any promises and if the key was lost, the key was lost.
this wasn't a one-off: two more of my housemates showed up to NOPS to collect their key and it was missing.
- house was filthy to the point of uninhabitable upon move-in. Highlights include a used condom on the sofa in the main room.
Had to argue back and forth with them for days and send photos before they finally conceded to check their records and see whether maybe there had been a mistake organising a between-tenancy clean (there had).
*Reading the other (genuine) reviews here, it seems like letting student tenants move into filthy houses is quite commonplace with NOPS. it isn't a stretch to imagine they do this deliberately to see if they can get away with saving themselves the hassle. my advice would be to document, document, document and push back.
- as with other reviewers, i've experienced several (that i even know about) unscheduled/unannounced viewings. when confronted with a list of times and dates of these unscheduled viewings, they blamed them all on the landlord.
- Not really sure what their role is. most issues we contact them with we're told are the landlord's or the rental agency's responsibility, not theirs. read more
