My ultrasound on my first visit was completely in accurate. I was told I had 3-4 follicles. I was shocked. I am in my early 30's and I had a ultrasound recently somewhere else and it showed 11-12. Right after, I scheduled for a respectable fertility clinic in NJ and had an ultrasound and sure enough, I was right. I tried to get my refund since this was completely inaccurate, and they refused. They even went so far as to say I could of grown 9 follicles by the time I saw the next doctor which was 5 hours later. Funny thing, I'm a Nurse Practitioner, and they had no idea. In addition, I was on no medication whatsoever. They are just trying to cover they're incompetent tech's behind. I strongly urge you to save your money and avoid this place. I think they pray on certain people who think they cannot afford it anywhere else in NJ, but ask around. This place is a PURE WASTE OF MONEY.

To me this clinic does what it does well and these are the most important things. I've been told again and again they are the best in the business for evidence based care and my outcome was great. I think it's important for women to know that the experience is not customized and you won't have any info ahead of time. If you have a job or any kind of medical complexity, you might really struggle in ways that could significantly impact you. For instance, I was not told with any notice what morning monitoring or medication hours (including trigger shot times) would be, leaving me to rearrange my entire work schedule at the very last minute at least once a week during treatment. Even basic things like: "expect to be here often between 5-8 am and likely you will get whatever time slot is left," or "you'll likely have one trigger shot at night and one in the morning during working hours" will not be communicated until the last possible moment and you will have to follow up on everything. Your nurse will call you at a random time throughout the day and if you miss this call it could be your only shot at talking to her. This could easily cause a job loss for your average person. The clinic will not give you any support in administering meds. My meds were often not added to my portal or added wrong, the videos uploaded weren't the same as the medication administration tools I got. I had to figure out on my own when I was about to run out. I found myself calling the manufacturer and pharmacy after hours because I was scheduled to start the meds after their working hours. Knowing what I know now, I would call the manufacturer, pharmacy and RMA in advance before administering meds the first time and make sure you absolutely know what you're doing. If you wait until the hour the meds are due, you'll be out of luck. I eventually got a Dr. on the hotline at RMA who was able to help me, but she also often seemed somewhat unsure about what to do. Instructions were not clear and I found myself calling friends who are nurses and doctors instead of RMA. They didn't give me a list of pharmacies which also left me scrambling for more meds and luckily I was able to find a new one on my own after an hour on the phone with the drug manufacturers that I ended up calling for each med (and save some money) with better service. Expect to be your own advocate and that this will be a second full time job the first time around. I was not warned about pain or side effects and sometimes given different instructions about them from different people. I let them know I have significant OBGYN complications that were related specifically to these procedures. They were clear that they don't address any of the concerns in specific ways and also will not directly coordinate care with any other treating doctors. I would be responsible for figuring all of that out (which is tough without any knowledge of what meds you're taking ahead of time). For the majority of my treatment at most critical moments, neither my personal doctor or my nurse were available. Luckily most of the people who work there are good. I only saw my Dr. one time, so I would not expect anyone you see here to have knowledge of your case. That was a big deal for me because I have pelvic floor dysfunction and had to explain why I was flinching every time I had an ultrasound to new people including medical students. I was told the best thing to do the next time around was schedule follow up appointments, but my Dr didn't have availability within a timeframe that would make sense in relationship to treatment. You definitely could be in more pain than expected and your nurse will not give you a heads up. Take second day off after retrieval if you can. Don't expect people to pay attention to the little things, everyone is overworked. I was really glad when a doctor finally explained what they were saying when talking to a medical student or nurse about my ultrasound. When they introduced themselves, etc. I felt eternally grateful when someone taking my blood asked me about how I was so bruised in both arms and realized I'd been getting rebruised a lot. She put some tape around the puncture and to my surprise I stopped bruising as badly. I ended up buying the tape myself. This place is excellent at what it does, but it is a factory. It could definitely be professionally or physically rough (if you accidentally administer meds wrong) for the wrong person. If you are able to afford it time, energy and physically and have a lot of support then it's absolutely worth it and a privilege to be able to do. But if any of these things could cause you significant duress, I would also check out CCRM. They offer a payment plan, follow up with your insurance, keep you with one team of people, etc.

I think the doctors and staff are truly amazing, but I cannot say the same about everyone I've…read moreencountered there. I do feel dehumanized and part of just another checklist.

Dr. Fleming has told me to take something that wound up making my initial symptoms worse, only for Dr. Jean to tell me that the medication he told me to take would make those symptoms worse. Their communication in recent months has been lacking. They do take time with you when they see you, but Dr. Fleming just reads results to you for bloodwork as he gets it during your appointment. There's just something not as good anymore as when I only occasionally went before the membership fees started. It's too cost prohibitive and I told Dr. Jean about something delicate that was causing me pain and she said not to do that, but it was something essential. I went to other doctors to help with that issue instead, although Morningstar says that they have these services under one roof. Respectfully, they need to tighten back up in a lot of areas. Admit when you're not sure instead of give unhelpful answers that leave the patient feeling unheard. Refer your patients elsewhere when necessary. Communication amongst staff has also been weak. One tells you that Dr. Jean does pelvic exams, but her answers to pelvic pain aren't there. She doesn't know and doesn't make any move to refer you or do an exam. There are other napro doctors around. Staff also has said numerous times that so and so would respond in x timeframe and it's always something where I feel like I'm chasing down answers whereas they say how they take your membership fee so they can serve you better. It's not better.
