My experience at RMA Basking Ridge has completely shattered my lifelong respect for doctors. Let me be clear: this is not a medical clinic. These are not physicians in the traditional sense. They are profit-driven operators who treat patients like numbers on an assembly line. Everything -- from how procedures are scheduled to how your case is managed -- is optimized for maximum billing with minimum effort. Doctors here do not review your chart before procedures. Surgical physicians rotate randomly and make no effort to understand your medical background. You are just the next case on their conveyor belt. No curiosity, no accountability, no continuity of care. This review is based entirely on my true experience. I trusted them with something deeply personal -- and I regret it profoundly. Dr. Drews rejected me, saying that I can only use donor eggs at 42, even though we previously created 16 blastocysts and 5 PGT-tested embryos. His assistant, Ann, was quite arrogant and condescending throughout the conversation, which made the experience even more discouraging. I'm starting to think that the good lab data reported for women over 40 might actually be based on cases using donor eggs. read more

They constantly forget to send you the correct medication and they're constantly always confused with providing instructions. They know that things are very time sensitive, but they constantly never double check the medication they're supposed to send out on time. read more

I can only support the bad reviews here. Profit factory, doctors ending up doing your retrieval not knowing you past history, not checking on ultrasounds.. making gross mistakes. Protocols rushed to start as soon as possible, not focusing on maximizing outcome. Sometimes you wonder if your doctor is checking your results at all. I would love to give 5 starts because the medical and office staff are EXCEPTIONAL. However, their finance department is sad. when storing embryos you pay a 1200$ fee per year. I have been paying monthly - not the full amount at once - because I was never told it had to be paid in full at once. I received a bill from a debt collector today on an account I religiously pay on every month. I have called the finance department in tears on 2 occasions over this and the response was "well maybe if you are actively paying it wont get sent to collections." I am so upset by this, after paying almost 30,000k IN FULL to go through the IVF process with them I am getting sent to collections over an outstanding 300$ that I pay every month? After terrible experiences with URA in Hasbrouck Heights, we're currently shopping for new fertility doctors in our hopes of starting a family. As wifey said, "I wish we came here first." These guys really seem to have it together. Our consultation had us meet with a doctor, nurse, and a finance specialist. They went over costs, procedures, developing a plan, and even discussed financing options with us (something few other clinics offer to do). Infertility is very stressful and at RMA I have found compassion, respect and caring professionals, from the financial analyst to nurses and doctors, they always did their best to help me. I am an LGBT woman trying to conceive. I have been working with this place for over a year, taking time off because of life, but finally started my journey in February. In the beginning everything ran smoothly. After a while I had to call for everything, almost like I was forgotten. I decided to write this review after seeing the abysmal reviews some patients have left... I felt the need to give my experience as well for anyone reading through these reviews on their infertility journey... which is a tender walk, I know. I have nothing but great things to say about RMAs responsibility, concern, and professionalism. I never waited for an appointment, phone calls were returned immediately, my nurse and doctor followed my wishes for treatment and overall it was a great experience. I felt I left the office understanding all treatments and procedures. We have a 1 year old daughter and plan to go back for our second soon. I read the other reviews and perhaps it's different doctors or nurses, bad days in the office... not sure. But I had such a good experience I wanted to make sure it was also listed! read more

RUN RUN RUN This clinic only cares about taking your money. It is a revolving door of doctors. You will just be a number with a price tag on your head. Our first doctor only physically saw me maybe 3 times for exams the first round. He was not able or did not want to answer questions. Every morning there was a different doctor measuring. None of my questions were answered. I was just being pushed through a first round. I was promised our first doctor would consult with my other doctors and he did not. I was promised a custom protocol and received the cookie cutter protocol they use on everyone. Our first round the biggest issue was that all of my medication was not ordered properly. I checked via email with our nurse and she confirmed we had everything ( we did not have the trigger shot ) I also was skeptical so I checked with " my doctor " as well as one of the other ones who saw me in the AM and was brushed off with no answer. Come to the day before the trigger shot - I receive an email with instructions from the nurse and we do not have the shot that I've been asking about. The retrieval day - I was in an office with a doctor I had never met. Not MY doctor as I was promised when we had made the decision to go here. It was a failed round. A quick call from our "doctor" ( Dr.Kaiser ) letting us know it was failed, not answering a single questions and finishing the call letting us know he'd be leaving the practice to open one in Cali. I suspect this is why he was completely checked out during our first round. He also announced publicly he has his own child with his partner. I can only attribute that to why he did not care about our fertility or his job. We asked to see Doctor Drews for our next round. I did not want to see another doctor who would be up and leaving midway and checked out. I assumed that would be Dr.Drews since he's a partner. Our first meeting he promised a completely new protocol and made promises that were not kept, basically kept us hanging on to keep collecting his check. We saw him twice during the cycle. The first meeting and the final meeting. He never once examined me, I doubt he even looked at my medical history. At this point my regular OBGYn who had been working with me tried to contact him without success to discuss my health and medications. The protocol ended up being the same as the first one that did not work. Again, a slew of unfamiliar doctors who could not answer my questions. This time again, proper medications were not ordered - however, thankfully for my persistence it was handled before the day before my retrieval. The day before we started our second cycle I received a call from Jenna in finance saying our insurance would not cover this. My husband and I had to pause our work day and spent 3-5 hours on the phone with her and our insurance company. The insurance company assured her we did have the coverage. Even the woman with the insurance company was frustrated with their absolute incompetence. Finally, we start the second round. Dr.Drews was not available to answer a single question we had. Most of our questions through this process went unanswered. The medications caused me to have very bad inflammation in my body. The only step that differed from my first protocol was that I was on more estrogen prior to starting the cycle. The week before the retrieval I asked about delaying or stopping to get better results. I was brushed off again, no one answered me concerns or questions and we were pushed to follow through with the second retrieval to spite that I was showing the same results. Doctor Drews did not even have the decency to call to let us know the results. I received a 5 minute call from our nurse. When requested an apt with him to discuss and were told 4-6 weeks. He saw us that week after us persisting. We were met by a cold, annoyed and rude man. He immediately gave me a false diagnosis of infertility and told us to try somewhere else but promised " we'd be back for doner eggs" . He promised I'd never be pregnant without doner eggs - After he pushed for us to use doner eggs within RMA ( which we told him multiple times was not an option for us) He pushed to the point where I cried. Being combative and dismissive and rude. This irresponsible diagnosis is from a man who never once examined me. I'd be shocked if he had even glanced at any of my results or medical history. After being pushed off and told I would never be pregnant naturally and carry a baby to full term. I was pregnant within two months of this FALSE diagnosis. Unfortunately, the first half of my pregnancy was spent in complete fear because of this mans ego and incompetence. Also, if you do go here be sure to print all of your correspondence. The ONLY reason we did not sue them is because all of the evidence of their horrible " care " was within their email server and deleted within two weeks of our second failed round and improper diagnosis. read more

We have our beautiful baby due to this wonderful place. It operates like a machine in the best way. They know what they are doing and they do it really well. It was my third fertility office and it was unbelievably better than my other experiences. They diagnosed me and set up a plan within the first appointment and we just followed it. I'm still a patient and I don't know my results yet but I am very disappointed at the billing department. A few weeks back they told me I need preauthorization for MRI which will take up to 3 business days and I should schedule my appointment the following week. However I found that they never submitted the request and my MRI appointment got canceled due to the lack of authorization. RMA did submit the request on the day that I found out but it delayed my process for about a week. I thought this was probably one off case and didn't think too much about it. Last week, I asked the finance coordinator to submit my IVF preauthorization which they confirmed it got submitted. However when I called my insurance company today to check the status, I was told there's no pending request in my file. I was furious not only because this will further delay my process but also the billing department of RMA is not staying on top of patients case. They even claimed the insurance members service team may not have the full information but my insurance said anything submitted more than 24 hours should appear in my file. Lesson learned is that you need to stay on top of your own case when dealing with RMA including to verify what they claim with your insurance company. This has been frustrated but it appears the only way to know for certain. I have no complaints about the doctors, nurses or scheduling department, they have been very helpful so far. read more

I had a bad experience with RMA. I believe it is for business rather than medical. They suck out your insurance and your own money by giving you hope, only to tell you there is no hope of getting pregnant. Even though my wife's reading is much better, they prescribed 5 hormone shots daily and others from a specific pharmacy (with whom I had a deal). They turned me and my wife down. My wife is getting sick because of their unfairness and humiliation. The point here is: why continue charging a patient if you know that the fertility is not going to work? Furthermore, when they take a blood sample, the majority of their nurses are not professionals. Final message from them: We will cancel the procedure after they have charged us. read more

I personally had a great experience with RMA and I trust them entirely with my care. They found an issue that my regular GYNO did not even come close to finding or suspecting. Thanks to them I am pregnant today. Every time I had an ultrasound or blood draw, they showed compassion. I would be so emotional over an ultrasound and the doctors were so kind. I might not have seen the same doctor each time but every doctor nurse or tech I came in contact with, I found to be great at what they do. I always got very encouraging vibes from them all. As a nurse myself I can be quite critical of the care i experience, because I believe that there should be an equal amount of compassion and knowledge in patient care. We had the most WONDERFUL experience with RMA Northern California, we recommend them to anyone we know who wants to get pregnant. Every experience felt warm and personal, including through our Covid appointments. Every doctor with whom we interacted, especially our primary Dr. Kort, really took the time to speak with us and answer all of our questions. The nurses were always exceptionally friendly and helped make every second of every experience positive. We felt like we were getting amazing service every step of the way and were relieved to be in the best hands as we experienced infertility and eventually had to do IVF. We are grateful for RMA every time we talk about our expected little girl, and will always be grateful we were able to work with them to get pregnant. I have been a patient at RMA for the past year with my primary office the Englewood, NJ location. I am extremely satisfied with the care they provide. I would recommend this office and my doctor, Dr. Ryback, to anyone in need of fertility support. The entire staff from the receptionists, to the phlebotomists and of course my incredible nurses, Bridget and Desi, have been so caring and supportive. Their treatment plans are seamless and they understand that as patients we often have jobs and other priorities to keep up with and they do their utmost to support that. I started IVF in September, because my Gyno told me I couldn't have kids. He wanted me to do surgery, before even mentioning RMA to me. I did my own research and found RMA, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try. I had 8 eggs. We decided to have our egg transfer (male). Horrible! I am still a patient there so I don't want to say too much. However, if I could do it again I would have never gone here. IVF is not for you if you aren't strong but they make it worse. I know for a fact that I've wasted two embryos so far due to their incompetence. The bloodwork and embryology departments are FANTASTIC!!! I don't like hand holding and fluff but I do like doctors that know what is going on with their patients and I didn't get that. This place does not take care of you, all they want is you money. For some reason they bill the insurance a certain why that is not covered in the plan so you would have to pay for the service. If the RMA nurse says that results are excellent/good and RMA doctor says that the same results are 'below normal' and 'borderline', then there is a BIG problem and best is to stay away from this place. Their website has some outdated forms which nurse says she had no idea why they were there, gave my husband and me an impression that we could decline counselling. Before I go any further, I would like to remind Lelica P that FB reviews are edited by RMANJ. Of course their reviews are great, they delete the bad ones! RMA is a chop shop for fertility, pure and simple. They pass you along to nurses, doctors, phlebotomists, and staff like a hot potato. By the end of your journey you are in debt, and literally have no idea what is wrong with your body. It is a scam, and I fell for it. Now I am in a smaller, more caring fertility center and I'm kicking myself for wasting so much money and tears at RMA. I can't change my past, but if you are reading this review, please take into account all the other horrible reviews and find a different fertility clinic. Nobody should be treated the way I was at RMA and I am hoping that reviews like this will encourage them to change (or go out of business). read more

Hi. I went to the facility in Englewood as it was referred by my OBGYN. However, I would NEVER recommend this place to others for various reasons: 1) You only see the doctor when you do the first consultation. All the other checks and even the process of IUI is done by another random doctor. 2) The facility charges for EVERYTHING. You should not be charged to get a copy of your own medical reports. I have never seen a medical office charge for this information. 3) They did not know what they were doing. They said "we will increase the dosage of Follistim to 300 and see what happens". Then later they told me oops sorry but we missed your cycle this month. I'm not sure how they can miss it when I was at the office every other day getting blood work and ultrasound done. 4) They missed my cycle, but they never miss to say you owe x amount of money. 5) The nurse, who was nice, did call me but I'm not paying tons of money to have a nurse call me and to meet/talk to a doctor would be additional cost. 6) Only office on the weekend that is open is in Baskin Ridge. That is a hike. If they said that I would be spending my weekends driving 2 hours to and from that facility, I would have found a closer one. They obviously don't say that. 7) Yes, the end result is our faith and not the facility, but being a "guinea pig" is not a good feeling, especially when I'm paying every dime out of my own pocket. Overall, RUN RUN RUN RUN away from this place. No need to spend your hard earned money here. read more

Can you imagine if Oncologists rejected treating cancer patients in their practice if it meant that their % success rates would go down? Doctors should be fighting for patients. There are several cancer patients that outlive their survival rates because doctors worked hard to help them. The medical philosophy should not be different when treating fertility patients. I was told by RMA that I didn't have enough follicles, my FSH was too high and my AMH was too low. This does NOT mean that I can't get pregnant. I am simply a "risk" for them to take on as an in-vitro patient. Since day 1, the nurse called to say it didn't look good and that I should get a donor. Isn't it the doctor's job to be saying this to patients? I cannot believe a medical practice is allowed to treat patients this way. Please consider a different group for your fertility. I have met tons of patients that were rejected by RMA that have had several children with other doctors, like Cornell, in the city. read more

I've been waiting to leave this review as I needed some space and time from the situation because it was an emotionally painful experience, only leaving this review in the hopes that it saves another couple time and pain. Husband and I went after trying to have a baby for 2 years and were told everything was fine and that we were experiencing "unexplained infertility," I did not question anything the doctor told me (Dr. Ho**) and accepted it at face value-my mistake, but during the emotional roller coaster that is infertility, I put my trust in the care I was receiving. The doctor told me my egg count and quality was typical of a woman in her 30's (I was 33 when I started treatment). Long story short, husband and I went through 3 cycles of IUI and then scheduled an appointment to discuss IVF. We scheduled the appt. a month out since the doctor was booked until then, the DAY OF OUR APPOINTMENT, and hour before our 2pm meeting, her office called to ask if they could push the appointment back by an hour...unfortunately, we could not accommodate that as I was scheduled to work an evening shift and had already manipulated my work schedule and said I would be fine to see another doctor or even go to another office at that point so that we could keep our appointment. They offered to do bloodwork and for the Dr. to call me the next day, but my husband and I were so dissatisfied that we decided to see another office. PS during about 5 months of treatment at this facility, we had actually seen the doctor ONCE during our initial consultation and then talked to her once, that was the ONLY contact we had. We have started going to a new office and when they received our medical record from RMA, the doctor from the new office called me immediately to tell me that we do NOT have unexplained infertility and that my egg count and quality is critically low/poor and that I had almost a 0% chance of getting pregnant with IUI. There could be several reasons for this negligent and abusive care, including wanting to make more money from the insurance companies and/or not affecting their IVF "statistics," but just really disappointed that we wasted time and physical/emotional energy on something that had such a low chance of working and hope that no one else has to endure something like it. I'll give them one star because the BR office is very nice, but the people and the care are abysmal. read more
