Nice mom and pop restaurant. Customer service, owner was awesome. We chopped it up while we waited for our food. Great menu items consisting of Chicago food flair. I ordered a Chicago dog and an Italian beef sandwich. Mannn that hot dog was good but that Italian beef was packed with beef and mad flavor! It was delicious. Man what a cool spot! Stopped by on a whim and wasn't disappointed. It's a take out spot in a small store front area. The lady who sat behind the counter was really nice and cool. I got the 12 wing combo all drums and it comes with fries and a coke. I got the house specialty sauce on my wings which wasn't drowned in sauce. Met the R of R'Jabs yesterday at mechanic -see previous review on Fontaine's. Ricky was delivering order and spoke before exiting. He mentioned place being down Mableton Parkway and Chicago style offerings of hot dogs, wings, fish and cheese steaks. Did not think of cheese steak being associated with Chi Town, but told him I would check out the next time I was in the vicinity. Fast forward to today. With a few hours to spare between child pick up and evening meeting, decided to make good on my word. Navigation was easy as Ricky had given me his card. Limited parking in front, but ample around the building. Also, arrived right before the after work crowd @5:15. Ricky was out getting items per the courteous counter person. She offered me a sample wing with their trademark Jab sauce as it was a wing flavor option. Good flavor - sweetish-spice. Opted for the hot with lemon pepper as I had a picky eatery in tow. Combo included fries a canned drink. Homemade lemonade with strawberries is also a drink option. I liked the celery/carrot crudite was a nice difference from just celery. Overall, service was great and combo tasty and very reasonable pricing. Liked season salted fries, but should've added more that was placed on tables. Customer Service: 0 stars: placed an order through uber eats. My order was cancelled. I called the restaurant to inquire why, the girl who answered put me on hold and never came back. Contacted uber, they advised to put the order in again. At this point a new uber eats driver shows up with my order from one hour and 20 minutes ago. It's not my fault the driver cancelled my order so I should've received a fresh order of food. Not food that was over an hour old. Fries that were an hour old, is that what we are doing now? Lol Food: 0 stars: even if this food was fresh it still wouldve been just horrendous and awful! I ordered the lemon pepper (salty and oily as hell with no traces of any lemon flavoring), the teriyaki (was salty as hell and tasted like straight soy sauce), and hot (more like a mild ass introduction to buffalo wings with trappeys hotsauce). The hot flavored wings most of those wings still had FEATHERS on them **ralphs** all of those wings got trashed! 30 damn wings thrown away! The wings were horrible, the flavors were horrible! A bite was taken from each wing flavor and then i discovered they put some dried up, hard as hell, sour smelling carrots in the first stages of mold in the box. These carrots were past 4 days old. I even did a people poll online with some of my friends who are chefs posting the pictures of the carrots asking them of their opinions. They all said and these are chefs that work in 5 star restaurants that those carrots were a day or 2 from turning black. I saved their comments in the event i had any issues getting a refund. Serving food like this shows you what they think of their customers. Overall: i knew this place was a gamble, ive seen it before passing by when im in the area, its in some macabre make shift plaza. Sometimes you cant judge places on how they look. At any rate i gave them a chance so i could support a B.O.B. and was horribly disappointed! I will never get food from here again! If the owners contacted me now and offered me a complimentary do over i would refuse. Not to be rude or nasty, simlly for the fact i dont like to see food wasted, and it would get thrown away because the flavor is lacking and these are wings for christs sakes! This will be the last time Rjabs gets any more of my money. One of my friends has been sooooo against the food in this place for years. Even with being told about it. I still continued to go their. After this LAST time I am totally DONE!!!!!!! When I walked in to pick up my order the cook had a looked at me like something was wrong. Obviously it was how my order was prepared. The wings were under cooked, and had a smell like the meat was about tot go bad. The teriyaki wings had enough sauce on them. That when I opened the container they were dead from drawing. I placed a phone order to go with no peppers, but mushrooms and onions. I love the soft roll and it was loaded, toasty and hot! The gentleman (whose name I do not recall, but believe he is one of the owners is still there:-), and as friendly and engaging as ever. Next up for me will be one of the fish combo's, they look inviting. RJabs has a nice website but may need to update it as the Phillys they offer are not on the online menu. However, I saw a sign that said all orders are cooked fresh. Hey, can't argue with that! Due to the long wait time the owner gave me a strawberry lemonade. After one sip of that drink. Whew!!! I can tell you that each time I've visited and the young girls are cooking, my wings are always over cooked and inedible however when the older gentleman prepare my food it is always on point. To date, the 3 times the younger ladies have prepared my wings it never fails. This is a poor reflection on the owner as they need to properly train anyone stepping into their kitchen. This is our go to wing place. The RJabs and RJabs Hot sauce are fantastic. We also enjoy getting the lemon pepper hot. Their sauces are soooo good! We typically order through Uber Eats and my only gripe is that if fries are ordered there are no slits in the top of the containers to allow for steam to escape. We still eat them, but they aren't very crispy. We've tried the chicken pilly, the steak philly, and some of the hot dogs. All are really great and flavorful!
