Great dog park, but no free as are most local dog parks. This park does temperament testing and requires vaccination records before your dog can play. The park includes nice restrooms (for the humans), a clean pond with a dock for the dogs to play in, agility equipment and plenty of benches and tables. The cost is usually around $15/visit and the more you buy the cheaper it is. Check out the website for discounts and events. One of my favorites is "Yappy Hour"... $15 gets two dogs in the park and 6 beer tickets - perfect for dogs and humans! read more

If you are looking for an action-packed dog park, look no further than Wag's Park. With amenities that include two ponds, a dock for dogs to jump off of, a water fountain, segregated park sections, and an on-site agility course, this park has everything you could want for your dog. Safe for puppies up to elderly dogs, Wag's screens dogs to verify all meet up to code vaccinations and personality tests. Yes the cost is high, although if you look at it in value of socializing your dog or just providing fun and safe conditions, its hard to compare to other dog parks. Running water is always on tap for canines as well as humans, and if nature calls an outdoor bathroom facility is in the park. The bathroom is cooled in the summer and heated in the winter, which is much nicer than any public park restroom. The staff are very friendly, both to humans and dogs alike. If the rare fight does break out they are usually on scene immediately to break it up, or if a dog has trouble swimming, they are there to the rescue. Yes... they actually jumped into the pond to lift up my puppy and bring her to shore after having trouble swimming. Basically it comes down to how much value you put in your dog park. If you just want some fenced in grass, there are other dog parks around Cincinnati that fit that bill. If you want a friendly dog atmosphere, swimming access for your dog, or an on-site agility course, nothing else in town comes close. read more

Best dog park ever. There lots of room to run and there is two ponds and a dock They have a area to bathe the dogs after playing at the park. Staff is very friendly. They have a nice place to eat right outside of the park that you can take your dogs on. Lots of tennis balls for the dogs. The only bad thing about this is that it's hard to find and you have to pay to get in. The dogs have to pass a temperament test in order to get in. It's pretty easy to pass. read more

The facility is nice, and the staff around the park are helpful and very cool, but the manager is an angry, nasty person. Seems like she'd rather be someplace else, and the park would be better off if she was. As the summer came to a close, the once just kinda icky pond/pool became pretty gross and I noticed my dog was having some intestinal issues. In fact, you'll see a few wet but happy dogs taking very watery poos after spending time in there. I've also noticed that they seem to be trying to save money by having less and less staff on duty ....which does not make much sense since a nice fall day is an awesome time to take your dog out to play. Having only one or two, albeit nice and helpful, staff members patrolling that huge area to avoid confrontations or incidents in the lake makes no sense, might as well go to a free dog park if that's the case. Bringing up any issues to the manager, even in the nicest way, is going to result in nothing but defensiveness and a bad attitude, so don't bother. Glad my multi-visit pass is up, I'll reassess next year, but if things don't change we won't be back. read more

Why pay for a dog park? The answer: My Beagle can swim in their lake and climb on their equipment or run like crazy over their endless grass while my husband and I sit on lounge chairs in the sun (or shade) and drink a beer. Seriously. Its pretty awesome. And I do feel slightly more comfortable letting my dog run around unobserved at this park since all dogs must be temperment -tested and vaccine-documented prior to admission. Although I pretty much always keep my eyes on him because its fun to watch him have so much fun. I love the clean bathrooms and plenty of seating for us lazy owners. I usually buy the 20 pack because it saves a lot of money and ends up being $7/visit instead of $15. I wouldn't make the trip out here or pay the money during the winter because to me its only worth it when my dog can cool off in their huge lake on hot days. Also this past winter the park was often empty and parts of the park were closed off for maintenance. read more

Very sad to learn that this place discriminates against intact dogs. My little girl has completed 2 obedience classes at QCDTC (side note: QCDTC is great for dog training), but unfortunately she is not welcome at Wagspark. She is taking her Canine Good Citizen test this week, but that is not good enough for Wagspark. You must desex your dog to be welcome here. Nothing but extremely positive things to say about this dog park. Our golden retriever has been going there since she was old enough, first for the dog park and then later for both the park and the day care. She loves it. The people that work there are great, love and care for dogs, and keep the place safe. My dog loves the chance to swim. I like that I can use the wash facilities before taking her home clean. Beer available too. (For anyone reading these reviews, I have never heard a real life person complain. That there are more bad than good reviews just reflects that satisfied people aren't thinking of coming to yelp to offer feedback.) read more

I wanted to love this place, and let me tell you why I could not. I take my dog to the free dog parks in the area (Otto Armleder et al.) and I wanted to see if my dog would like to play in this private place. When I walked into this place today I was told my dog needed to have clean record of shots. No problem, she goes to a local vet and she has been to Puppywood in Anderson Township, and liked it. The woman in charge (short and short blond hair) said it would be $15.00 for her to play, even for 15 minutes. I laughed and said, "are you serious?" Yes, she was. This is easily my favorite dog park in Cincinnati. If it was a little closer to downtown, it would have been a weekly visit during the summer. Instead, it's located about 20 minutes outside of downtown in Newtown. This park cannot be compared to the one at Washington Park. Wag's Park is privately owned and vet records must be faxed over prior to the dog's visit. The staff does a temperament test with your dog to make sure that he/she will get along with the others. This one-time test is $5. Once inside, the park is much bigger than it looks. There are two water areas with a small rock path separating them. There is plenty of grass with more than enough room for 50+ dogs to run around without feeling congested. There is also a diving board-esque launch pad for the dogs to propel themselves off of as they jump into the lake. My skittish puppy chose not to, but the other dogs seemed to love it. There is also an employee or 2 on watch at all times, actively engaging the dogs and owners. It's definitely a nice touch. Wag's Park has a huge projection screen towards the back of the complex and large speakers loud enough for everyone to hear the grumblings of the football game. I believe they sell beer and wine up front. Now, a one time visit is a little pricey at $15, but they have many other options to make it affordable. $10 per visit with a 10 pack, and $35 per month with a 7 month commitment. Finally, they had a dog laundromat around the side of the building where you can wash and dry your dog for $5. All in all, a very pleasant experience that I wish I had tried at the beginning of the summer. read more

This is my dogs favorite place in the world! When I ask her if she wants to go to wags she jumps out of excitement. The staff is so kind and love each dog as their own! We started off with daycare, which was very scary at first for my rescue dog who used to be afraid of everything, but the staff really helped her get used to it and gain confidence! Now we go for daycare multiple times a week and enjoy the park the other days. Boooo to Wags dog park! I have taken my dog there on the weekend 3 times and he has always been great. Took him there today for 1st day of daycare and when I went to pick him up the lady in the lobby (I assume the manager as I see other people on here noting how nasty she is) starts getting on me because my dog "guarded" some toys there. She said that I shouldn't bring him back on weekends and if I was there today she would have sent him home. No real explanation of the problem, just that he "guarded" the toys. Her people skills were atrocious. She seemed genuinely pissed at my dog and chose to berate us in the lobby instead of talking to me privately. He has been going to another daycare for months and always gets good comments. I mentioned this to her and she said, "They don't have toys."(Ummm, yes they do). Done with this place. EDIT: In regards to the follow-up comment made by "Julie" from Wags (below), I sent her the following message: "Wow. This is a flat out LIE! My dog had been to your park 3 times (on the weekend) with no issues. I was NEVER talked to by staff and there was no reason for staff to talk to me. I want to know the name of the staff that allegedly talked to me and the date. Shocked that you would compound your rudeness yesterday by lying today." read more

We live right across the street from Washington park in downtown Cincy but still drive all the way to Newtown to go to wags. Our puppy has been attending puppy class and now basic since he was a few months old. We love Donna the trainer! Boss, is an American Bulldog which is a large bully breed. Donna has gone out of her way to help us work with him to make sure his socialization has been positive so that he can grow to be a friendly social dog. There are always people that instantly judge bully breeds not based upon the dog but stereotypes they have created. It's so fun to watch Boss playing with all types of dogs from tiny puppies to huge mastiffs. He loves the pond and all of the agility setups in the play area. I can't imagine not having wags for Boss! read more

I used the daycare and was not impressed. My dog came home muddy and gross, he seemed stressed out and the staff is not friendly. I feel like I'm inconveniencing them when I walk through the door and they are not friendly. Pet Spot in Norwood is worth my money, this is absolutely not. read more

Being new to the Cincinnati area and having a new pup I immediately was looking for recommendations. Wags was recommended and so we tried it out. All I can say is what an amazing place. My chocolate lab Reese loves coming here and letting all of her energy out. The staff is all super friendly and I love that they take time to remember my name and my dogs name. Added bonus: you can grab a beer while your dog frolics around. We look forward to purchasing a membership when it reopens in April! read more

I can't say enough about the staff at Waggs. We lost our 15 year old lab mix two weeks ago and her soul mate had never been without her. Waggs temperament checked our "Duke" and helped guide me on how to help create a new normal for him. We definitely noticed he was grieving for the dog that passed. Alicia gave us great advice and I'm happy to say he was wagging his tail at his visit today. The park is spotless and the staff on duty really pays attention to detail. Our dog LOVES this place for daycare! The girls are very nice during drop-off and pick-up. Our dog doesn't go to daycare everyday because our our work schedules. He used to go 1-2 times a week. However, we'd have to call to reserve his spot and they stopped answering the phone. They didn't answer the phone for a whole week. We left multiple messages and no reply. I know they're busy so they might have been full, bit I just wish they would have told us that. Or at least answered the phone. We'll be finding a new daycare. read more

We have been members at WagsPark for years, basically since they opened...first with our older dog and now with both dogs. Wags is one of our favorite places to visit. Obviously the dogs just adore it there, especially the little one who really loves to swim. We call it Disney for Dogs. My husband especially loves the addition of the bar. Combine that with the Bengals' game on a Sunday and it's the perfect place to hang out with the family. We utilize both the daycare and the park and couldn't be happier. The dogs go crazy when we get into the car, in the hope that we're headed to Wags. It gives them the exercise they need and they get love and attention from the staff. We have also put our younger crazy a$$ dog through obedience training at Wags and that's been a real help as well. I also like that the dogs must be vetted for aggression as well as healthy and neutered. That along with having to pay is peace of mind that we're there with other responsible and caring dog owners. I have read the negative reviews and frankly I think a lot of it is sour grapes. My one dog, especially the one who swims a lot, does get loose poops after a day there, but I am sure that it's because he's drank half of the lake. That's life, right? I would expect that. I would also expect the lake to get kind of gross at times, because dogs will be dogs. It's not a community swimming pool. I have also gotten to know the manager over the years both in a professional and personal role and I having nothing but great things to say about her. At the end of the day, she really really loves and cares about dogs ~ as do all of the employees. Of course she has to care about the turf, because that's an important asset at the dog park, and I like it when they close the park to preserve the grass. If it's that muddy there, I don't want to be there and bring all of that mud home with me. Wags is one of the best new businesses to pop up in the last few years and it's been worth every penny we've spent to participate in all of the fun. It's big fun for all of us! read more

A great place for both dogs and owners! It is a private dog park which can be pricey but it usually includes a couple days of daycare, use of the pet wash, and guest passes. My dog loves the daycare and comes back exhausted! The staff is great and doesn't just watch the dogs but also makes a point to play with them. The park includes a lake (which is pretty clean considering how many dogs use it), dog ramps for training, and a 'dog' jungle gym play set. There are also benches and lawn chairs for owners to sit down while their dog runs around. For owners who want to stay of the sun, there is a covered patio with a bar and reasonably priced drinks. read more

Dysfunctional, face palm. I took my dog there this weekend for temperament test for an upcoming party. Once I entered, the crew quickly notified me they weren't accepting new dogs due to the recent canine influenza epidemic. Initial thoughts - fair enough, but more on that later. My primary reason for coming to the park was to comply with the party standards, which I respectfully did so coming in a week prior, but that's where front-line service took a turn. It's as if management did not think this decision through and did not empower their crew to apply common sense given their prior commitments. They did offer the test, though denied any park entry that day. Less than 30 seconds later, they returned my dog and delivered unfortunate news. She failed. The test is quite subjective and they were too lazy to ask if she had anything unusual happening that may hinder the results (which, yes, she is injured) or take into account her performance at a reputable local doggy daycare. They were looking turn me away at every point and lacked a "can do" attitude. It's as if they did not want to consider me as a future client...a complete missed opportunity! My thoughts on your dog flu initiatives - you may be dog activists, but you're clearly not risk assessors. Pissing off current clients is a greater risk than dogs falling ill. When you implement an arbitrary 2-3 week rule banning dogs from playing at Wags after being boarded or at daycare, you think: a.) is it 2 weeks? 3 weeks? Which one? b.) a wave of disappointed clients are going to ask for a pro-rated reimbursement from their already absurd membership fee. Lastly, I was left to carry a baggy of dog doo-doo home with me because there were no trashcans in the office or outside the door. Really? Is cash flow that tight where you can't even afford a receptacle or services to support a receptacle? Like I said, face palm. read more

Hank the German and I love Wags! He gets to run around and swim with all of his friends and I get to chat with the other humans while having a beer! Couldn't be better! But seriously, at first, I was like "why would I pay to go to a dog park?" Well, the answer is simple and make sense; vaccinations must be proven and up to date, all dogs must pass a temperament test, and finally once the dog is 6mos and older, they must be fixed. All of these reasons are enough for me to be a year around member. I don't have to worry about Hank getting sick bc another dog isn't up on his/her shots; I also, don't have to worry about fights breaking out. Don't get me wrong, things happen, but there is always more than 2 staff members in the park area keeping a close eye, so if anything does happen, it gets broken up immediately. Plenty of room to run, tennis balls everywhere, and a dock for the dogs to jump off of into the large pool! The park is kept clean, as members are asked to clean up after their own dogs. They have a bar, I'm pretty sure beer only, and you can take a lunch with you-just have to stay in the non dog picnic area. This is one of the only places in southwest Ohio where you can take your dog swimming. We were there last year and the dogs loved it, especially on a hot summer day. We tried to go again on Memorial Day weekend and we couldn't get in because they could only find one of the dogs in their system and couldn't verify the other dog was vaccinated. Because the vet was closed, there was no way to verify our dog's shots, so we were forced to load the dogs into the car and drive an hour home. The pups were sad to say the least. We even showed the staff Facebook pictures from the previous summer verifying the dog who's records were missing was there. They didn't care one bit. I assume it's because they have a monopoly on places for dogs to swim. I appreciate that they take precautions to do minimize the risk to other dogs (between the immunization records and the temperament test), but they could be much more compassionate about they way they go about it. They make you feel like you are being judged on your dogs behavior (this is true even the first time we went.) A little gratitude and understanding would go a long way. That said, since there are no other options in the area, I guess they don't need customer service. Once you're past the "guard" at the front desk, it's a great place to take your dogs. Just make plans in advance or bring your immunization records with you since they're quick to deny admission. And whatever you do, don't rely on their computer system. read more

Show Dogs Need Not Apply I would gladly pay and use this park since I participate in a variety of dog sports including dock diving and PWD water trials. But I have show dogs. Nevermind my dogs have to stand the stress of always being touch by strangers and being around other intact dogs. We are not allowed to join. Other reviews on different sites complain about dog fights. I would be willing to put up my intact dogs temperments and my ability to control them over the major of the pet owners using this park especially since there seems to be a number of complaints about dog fights including the staff's own dogs. read more

I like the concept behind this park but I have some concerns......while my dog loves water, I also know that a lot of dog diseases are spread through shared water (ponds, community drinking bowls, etc.) so this concerns me about Wags. I can make sure my dog doesn't drink out of the community dog bowl, but the pond is the main reason to go....QUESTION?? Is it being filtered on a regular basis? I know of someone who used to work there who says the pond is NOT filtered on a regular basis and she knows of owners whose dogs have gotten giardia. I've tried twice to contact Wags about this allegation but surprisingly...no one has returned my call. I say, go at your dog's risk! read more

It doesn't matter how I feel about WagsPark (although it is positive); my dog LOVES going there (daycare). She is part Lab so the swimming is great fun for her. The staff at Wags are kind and accommodating and seem to genuinely care about my dog (all the dogs). The staff also seem to have a lot of experience with animal health and behavior. I absolutely love this park and go every single chance I get! My boy gets so excited to go to daycare, I can't even say the word unless we are absolutely going. When you walk in your are greeted by the nicest dog lovers who obviously love their jobs. I am an annual member and they know me as soon as I walk in. They really try to get to know you and your dog. I always come in and they know I want a beer! I can start a tab, play with my boy, sit and watch the game on their HUGE tv, and it's almost like a mini-vacation. The events at this place are great because I have made friends with many of the regulars there and we always have a blast. There have been tailgating parties, movie nights, belly flop contests!, and it is really just a fun relaxing time. I always see a staff member in the park so I know my boy is well taken care of if I look away. My dog loves to swim and the water is so clean I would swim if I was allowed! I love that this place is open all year round, and I recently saw them putting in a fire pit for winter. They are always adding new things to make the park more enjoyable and for the cost it is well worth every penny. The best new addition is the daycare. My dog has been a couple times and he always comes home wet and exhausted! They take the dogs out to the park throughout the day so I know he is getting his exercise. The manager Alicia is great, she is always around and all of the dogs love her. The dogs in this park are all temperament tested and vaccinated so I feel so much better going here than any other free park. Overall, this place is just like a country club and I love everything about going here. The employees seem knowledgeable, the dogs are well behaved and controlled, and it is just a very clean and fun park. read more
